This is the concluding chapter of Sekiguchi Yuka's popular documentary series recording life with her Alzheimer's disease-stricken mother. Sekiguchi Yuka, who has continued to nurse her mother at home, is hospitalized for double hip surgery. She meets Ms. Yamada, a woman adored as the "Ward Mother". When Sekiguchi learns of Ms. Yamada's peaceful passing at a hospital for the terminally ill, she begins to turn her attention toward life's end. Seeking choices for her mother as well as her own death, Sekiguchi embarks on a journey investigating "means of dying" including palliative care, euthanasia, and assisted suicide.
