A documentary that retraces the experiences of 79-year-old farmer-cum-poet Kimura Michio, who lives in Tohoku. Kimura was born to a family of sharecroppers in a tiny farming village. He published 16 poetry collections despite the harsh circumstances he faced and his father's death during the war. In addition to his writing and farming, he joined a project to recover the remains of soldiers from the battlefield on Wake Island in the Pacific Ocean, where his uncle died in battle.
