Soldiers of the Chinese Nationalist Party, who fled to Taiwan after being defeated in the Chinese civil war in 1949, are the focus of this documentary which carefully captures the thoughts of the aging soldiers living out their remaining years on foreign soil. It has been 60 years since they went to Taiwan and all the soldiers of the Nationalist Army have retired. Given honorary citizenship and called "veterans", they receive various special privileges from the country. Among these is a dwelling meant only for former soldiers called "veterans' home" which includes dining and hospital facilities. The camera infiltrates this facility which is considered taboo in Taiwan. (Source: JFDB) Edit Translation
