don’t bother.

highly scripted, contestants started doing things that made no sense, no real love or connections, stalkers, a guy who doesn’t understand consent, multiple ad product placements, one of cast members opened up to being forced to choose one person they didn’t like during the final choice, and finally, the producers think we’re dumb, stupid, and crazy.

don’t watch.

So scripted that I felt insulted

Let me say this: I love dating shows. And, as a viewer, I am perfectly aware that:
- contestants are carefully picked, because they have to be pretty and fit certain standards, and many are part of the entertainment industry or want to start a career in this field.
- 90% of contestants choose to participate to get exposure, promote themselves or their company/restaurant/whatever.
- the staff often encourage contestants to behave a certain way to create more drama, or put contestants in stressfull situations just to film something interesting.
- even if couples are formed, they rarely survive in RL and fizzle out right after the show (bonus: sometimes people choose each other just to save face and to declare that they've been successfull in x show).

But that being said, Eden succeded in making me feel insulted, because I can't help but think that they treated all us viewers as idiots.
This season has only 8 episodes and at first everything seemed fine: the cast seemed interesting, people were nice, there were intriguing possibilities and one could feel excited when thinking about what could happen. This quickly went south episode after episode, because between cringy product placements and scenes that were full blown ads, the contestants started to make... not much sense.
Also, shoutout to the panelists that publicly defended a man that doesn't understand the concept of consent and that thinks that chasing a girl is warranted even when she tells you face to face that she doesn't like you. Same for another girl that didn't to much better, chasing a guy like a little stalker <3

Episodes 6-7 in particular were a mess, and I won't spoil you with the details and names of who did what, but let me just say that it was peak madness: some of the contestants changed their mind overnight or even in FEW MINUTES, there was drama because of a KISS ON THE CHEEK (when we're talking about a reality that's supposed to be a bit spicy, get out of here lol), dramatic tantrums about one-sided crushes that honestly deserved to wither and die weeks before etc.

And then, after I thought things could't get worse, apparently at least two people wrote on social media that the producers were forcing storylines dictating what they needed to do and that they were very frustrated but couldn't to anything about it. Barf.

What irks me the most though, it's that even without those social media posts, it's so crystal clear that this "reality" isn't free at all, that we might as well call it a bad soap opera. But the thing is, the PDs didn't realize how bad this was and mistook us - the general public - as colossal idiots.

So honestly, I usually try to encourage everyone to at least give a chance to 80% of any show, but this? Don't waste you time, because this is awful. This is taking the piss. If you want to watch people make bad decisions, go to Mc Donald's and leave Eden Season 2 alone.

Wasted my time

Story is not enhanced from eden 1,
The concept is that they want the contestants to follow their instincts, good idea, but there's mostly zero communication between everyone to the point where in the last ep. Lana and **** had the chance to talk about a misunderstanding between them from ep 4 maybe !!

That doesn't make sense !! They should facilitate the opportunities for each one of them to have their minds talked, I believe it could had a powerful impact on the final decision..

Secondly, no DATES !!! 8 ep and only 5 or 6 dates in total!!! Omg , that's not enough to get to know someone, especially when the date is decided regarding the winner of a wrestling games !! Not fair at all, that only measures the strength of individuals and this is a dating program, right !!

At least they could have had a day where girls pick boys for a date and vice versa.

Also I want to add, is it harmful to let them for once to follow their "instincts" and let everyone choose with whom they want to share a room with ?

In conclusion, I'm not happy with the show, it's shallow, superficial, and not meaningful...

I wished for depper connections since it's a show based on "instincts" and heart voice, but yeah it's what it's..

Bye ??

An Idiotically Missed Opportunity

It was going so well until... the final parts. I'll try to quickly review each of the cast members/major relationships before giving my somewhat obvious verdict.

Soomin and Chae Hui:
I put these two together because I felt like they were in similar situations—unrequited love. However, through scripting and exaggerated editing they were portrayed as stalkers. This is apparent when you rewind to the night that Soomin got to choose the sleeping arrangements. Although he did split Lana and Egon, he also didn't sleep with Lana himself. He was salty (which is natural), but he was also respectful to Lana. As for Chae Hui, I don't really know. She was obviously easily misled and immature, but her constant pestering of Egon (esp. the final night) was wrong (whether it was scripted or not).

Soyeon:
Honestly, Soyeon was probably the only cast member that wasn't blatantly scripted. Her dates with Egon (which I'll mention next) were probably scripted, but it felt more like Soyeon was going with the flow of the show. So, if she spne time with Kangre, she'd show interest. If Egon asked her out, she'd also show interest. While it could be weird in the regular world, in a dating show, that's accepted and okay.

Egon and Lana:
I think these two could've become the Junghyun and Nayeon of Season 1. So I don;t really understand why the PDs decided to split them up so abruptly. Right after Egon had said that his mind wasn't changing, he asked Soyeon out. It was esp. weird because Egon had been polite (even as he rejected Chae Hui) and seemed genuine and trustworthy. The excuse he said didn't make much sense and he ended up becoming the bad guy of the show. Meanwhile, Lana didn't really like Soomin. She was uncomfortable with him, not because he was creepy, but more so because she didn't like/wasn't used to that kind of confession. After the "bed date" she and Egon had, I don't really see how/why she should say yes to Soomin at the end.

Dohyun, Kangre, and Suah:
Finally, the elephant in the room. This love triangle was, honestly, not too bad. Nothing felt extremely forced. Obviously this is a reality show so there was some unnaturalness and awkward moments (I don't know what to think about the kiss). However, it was mostly decently played out with decent tension and all. The one moment I really didn't understand was the way Suah rejected both of them near the end. I personally believe it was either scripted or she was trying to see who the better guy was,, but that scene was a little weird. Overall, this love triangle wasn't amazing, but it was okay for the being the supporting role the relationship obviously took.

Overall, I enjoyed the first part of the show and liked the people and cast members involved. however, I truly think the PDs completely botched the show from the preposterous scripts to the obviousness of the scripting. It was a completely idiotic waste of a completely solid show. I would only recommend this show if you wanted something to binge watch and really didn't have anything to watch, even if you enjoyed Season 1.

You will be disappointed at the ending!

I liked everything till ep 7 . I empathized with everyone's feeling but in the end u can clearly see that they were forced to choose the person they didn't want it's clearly not there freedom to choose anyway i don't regret watching it only the ending was disappointment
