Documentary exploring what really happened to the young men trained in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and dispatched as kamikaze pilots at the close of the Pacific War. This labor of love by prolific TV documentary director Wakatsuki Osamu painstakingly culls diaries and testimony from survivors. The kamikaze pilots hurdled themselves at the US warships with bombs on board their Zero planes. At the Navy Tsukuba Air Corps, 84 youths joined the kamikaze corps for the Battle of Okinawa, and 60 perished. The survivors, who are now over 90 years old, recall their experiences and discuss their views on war. (Source: JFDb) Edit Translation
