Disappointed with the end
I liked the first episode . As drama progressed it got little bit bored but no reason I continued to watch it . After -8th episode it gets little bit interesting . I liked first lead's pairing but I start shipping 2nd leads also but at somewhere I felt that they were have sad ending but still I was excited to know the end but the end was not only sad ending with 2nd lead but also with first lead. sorry for being spoiler . So disappointed with the end . But I think there will be second season , if it is not then director sir kindly think about it . Actually we need second season because they were so many parallel stories which remain incomplete. Background Music and songs were good .

A Great Beginning With an Unfortunate Downfall
Literally just finished the show a few hours ago. Finally watched this show because I like the main leads and really enjoyed the supporting actors too. If it weren't for them I would've dropped it to be honest.I feel like it was initially supposed to be a one season show. Even before watching the show I was surprised that it was only 24 episodes and had concerns on how they'll execute it. Unfortunately them introducing so much stuff was a mistake. The last third of the episodes had so much exposition dump and characters just talking instead of properly showing made things so unsatisfying. Yes they're very interesting but this is only doable if the show was at least 40 episodes.
I loved the all the characters they introduced both good and bad guys but since they introduced so many in a short time no matter what happened to them I did not care for them as much even though the show tried to make this whole emotional/dramatic thing. There was not enough build up and it's so disappointing because I know the writers had more they wanted to show but lacked the episodes to do so.
This show was beautifully shot and the fight scenes are choreographed well . Just be warned that you aren't getting the conclusion that you hoped for.

hoping for a season 2; not romance heavy!
so much better than I was expecting honestly....IF YOURE EXPECTING ROMANCE WITH A SIDE OF PLOT THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!!!
the story line initially was so incredibly good. two female assassins? being sent on a mission by being married into the Gong family? love it. i am so glad however, the more i watched, this it was wasn't super romance heavy. i was much more focused on the "brotherly" bonding going on in this more so than the romance. i have established that all the actors are so incredibly good (and good looking) that this is actually fucking insane casting. i cannot wait to see more from them (especially TJR who is so new to acting but did so good as GYZ he is actually my favorite character). YWS and GZYs relationship is also so cute GZY is so loving and caring and is such a nice addition to the cold/stoich stereotype many male characters get. HOWEVER, the relationship between GSJ and GYZ is my absolute favorite thing in this entire show it was so wholesome. i was so stressed out during the whole thing because i really wanted all the "brothers" to get along and WE FINALLY GOT IT 😭😭😭😭😭😭 anyways will rewatch for GSJ and GYZ scenes as well as the small romance bits

Don't be blinded by beauty
My Journey to You had the potential to be one of the Great dramas, because it had the technical aspects in the bag. It's amazing production. The cinematography is beautiful. The martial arts choreography is absolutely mesmerizing, arguably the best I've seen in a while. The camerawork and editing are almost flawless. The styling greatly enhanced the actors' visuals. Not only that, the performances from the cast were terrific, most notably Tian Jiarui as Gong Yuanzhi and Jolin Jin as Gong Zishang, who gave off different energies in the series, but both made the show very entertaining to watch. The biggest downside of My Journey to You is the writing. It starts off fast-paced and exciting, pulling the audience into the dark and dangerous world of martial arts. But then the story becomes too convoluted, and significantly slows down in the middle, maybe because they're really trying to establish the romance subplots. But this causes the story to lose hold of some of the built-up tension and intrigue, and it's difficult to pick back up. The series belatedly ups the ante again only in the last couple of episodes.
Also, the way Gong Ziyu's character is written is off-putting. It's not consistent: he is someone who is kind and sympathetic even to suspected assassins, but somehow could not extend the same kindness and understanding to his (admittedly shady) brothers; he is a character who knows he is undeserving of the power given to him yet is strangely very protective of it and becomes self-important about it. This makes it difficult to follow any proper character development. I could have enjoyed watching Gong Ziyu rise to power if it was clearly shown what flaws he was working on to be more deserving of the Sword Wielder title. Rather, it's framed like he could do no wrong; it seems his character is hastily scrapped together based on the formula of the male lead most likely to gain the audience's sympathy and awe. It works, mostly because of Zhang Linghe's acting ability, and also because the other characters have unique personalities to make up for GZY's rather generic one.
Yu Shuxin as Yun Weishan could have been given the opportunity to shine more, to show more of her ferocity as a fighter, so I'm actually hoping for a second season to this series so it could happen. Her fighting scenes here are nothing short of art.
Special shout-out to Young Master Hua, whose character arc, even though brief, made me cry a lot, which does not happen often.

A journey of solving mysteries
This drama is beautiful. It starts with beautiful visuals.Acting :
All the actors and actresses are just best of the best even the support cast did their job perfectly. My favorite charater would be zi shang and yuan zhi. Zi Shang adds a perfect laugh to this drama.
On the other side Yuan zhi is such a excellent character. His smile is sinister when he knows he is going to win. He loves poision but is a softy at heart.
Our main leads did an amazing job. Ziyu and yun weishan are like those dream couples, always supporting each other. Where on the other hand Shang jue and Shangguan qian are like those toxic and "its so complicated" like couple who has a lot back stories, mysteries, and pain their heart. Pain which they cant even share with each other.
There's no one in this drama whom i dont like. From hero to villian i them all.
Story:
Storywise it does have a lot of plot holes but you can't detect them that easily. In some of the last episodes when everything comes to end the mystery is solved.
Costume and makeup:
I watch ancient and wuxia chinese dramas just because of their costumes and makeup. This drama did a pretty good work in this field everything and i mean everything is so beautiful.
Action:
Some fighting scenes remind me of the untammed. Most of the action scenes were shot so fantastically
And i watch the fights with curiosty of how beautifully they were done.
There is romance in this drama. Romance is not much but you can see it ....
Overral rating should be 9 that is based on story, costume, and visuals.

WONDERFUL... except for the last 5 mins
I'm not sure what they were thinking with that ending. But this will still be one of my fave dramas of all time. I'm just going to pretend the part with Yun at the end did not happen. Or hope for a season 2. :( I will still give the show a high rating because if you ignore that last bit and pretend Yun had just stayed, it'd have been fine. I'm not sure what's with the sudden twin and head of Wufang in Yun's home but oh well. The characters were fantastic. This show will stay with me for a long while. Was this review helpful to you?
one of best young chinese female actors tackle new type or role
My Journey to You (2023) - 9/10 - C-DramaThis drama is a fascinating blend of Wuxia, with a strong emphasis on mind games, intrigue, and espionage, interwoven with romantic subplots.
Though I'm not typically a fan of this genre, there were moments when it felt reminiscent of a Chinese Game of Thrones or the anime Basilisk—albeit with less gore and fewer sexual scenes, as expected from a C-drama.
Both main female leads delivered stellar performances, despite the challenging nature of their roles, which were unlike anything they had tackled before. They truly excelled.
My rating reflects the overall experience. While some episodes felt average, the series as a whole grew on me, culminating in a compelling conclusion. However, the ending was more open-ended than I would have preferred.
Plot
In brief, an assassin sect seeks to uncover the secrets of a renowned rival ancient sect. They decide to have their female assassin spies infiltrate as potential brides for the new clan leader of the rival sect.
Genre
Wuxia, Romance, Intrigue, Espionage

Zhang Ling He's ability to seamlessly transform into his character is remarkable. While I can't claim to know his true personality, his portrayal in this drama felt particularly authentic. His mastery of martial arts on screen appeared incredibly genuine, leaving me curious about whether he had prior training in the discipline.
The dynamic between the brother characters portrayed by Ryan Cheng (Gong Shang Jue) and Tian Jia Rui (Gong Yuan Zhi) was both exasperating and brilliantly executed. Their presence on screen often had me on the edge of my seat, metaphorically reaching for my shoe to throw in frustration. Ryan Cheng's mesmerizing gaze left me eager to see more of his work in the future.
The storyline was rife with mystery, keeping me thoroughly engaged throughout. However, I must admit I was somewhat disappointed by the ending. Not because of any character deaths, but rather how it concluded. It left me with a strong feeling that there may be a sequel in the works.
Jolin Jill's portrayal of a comedic character had me shaking my head in amusement. Her antics added a delightful touch of humor to the narrative.
Overall, I commend the entire cast and crew for their collective efforts in bringing this story to life. The costumes were particularly impressive, adding to the overall aesthetic of the production. I eagerly await the possibility of a sequel and hope to see the return of these talented individuals in future installments.

Hmmm
this is my opinion, & if you disagree then please don’t come after me, we all have different takes on different matters. It seemed interesting to be honest, at first I wanted to watch this because of Zhang Ling He (Gong Zi Yu) since I enjoyed Kunning Palace so much, but to be honest I held on to this show because of the second make & female leads.
Of course Ryan Cheng (Gong Shang Jue) I am so excited for The legend of the female General with him & my Zhou Ye ♥️
I was more attached to gong shang jue, shanghuan qian, and gong yuan zhi.. I find them way more interesting, and never felt bored or cringey with their scenes. I am sorry I just can’t stand yu shy xin (Yun Wei Shan) couldn’t finish the love between fairy and devil cause I couldn’t stand her voice, and her face looks too plastically if you know what I mean…
it could’ve been a more excellent series to be honest but there were so many things I dislike to be honest.

A good plot idea but could have been better
My Journey to You is about assassins being sent on a mission, disguising themselves as brides to the Gong residence. It started out interesting but felt kind of draggy and slow mid drama. Also,I do agree with the other reviews that the 2nd ML Gong shangjue and 2nd FL Shang guan qian stole the show and were more intriguing to watch than the main leads. My favourite character, however, is the ML’s sister, Gong Zi Shang. I love watching her funny antics and dance moves trying to hook Jin Fan. The ending was also too abrupt and gave no closure to the audience. Maybe there will be season 2?Was this review helpful to you?

"My Journey to You" is a 24-episode original drama series created by Guo Jingming, weaving a captivating tale of love, espionage, and self-discovery. Set in the martial arts world of jianghu, the story follows Yun Weishan, who infiltrates the Gong family for a mission, only to find herself entangled in a web of conspiracies, hidden agendas, and emotional revelations.

The ensemble cast delivers remarkable performances, with Yu Shuxin and Lu Yuxiao standing out. Yu Shuxin's versatility shines as she portrays a complex character, while Lu Yuxiao's subtle expressions bring depth to her role. Tian Jiarui impresses in his debut performance.
