deep sigh
season 1 was the best, lost you forever s1 was even my top 1 wuxia series, Some may not approve of my opinion on season 2, don’t come for me. This is just my personalopinion, frustrations, and sentiments.
I’ve put a hold on this for long since I’ve read the novel, wishing they wouldn’t follow its ending… but I decided to binge watch from episode 1-20 lol
Xiao Yao, was a bit tolerable in s1 but to be honest, I sometimes get so frustrated with her, but no one will beat my frustrations towards Tushan Jing.
Anyway Cang Xuan (zhang wan yi) in season 2 was so remarkable, how he portrayed his character, and Xiang Lu (Tan Jian Ci) these 2 are the main reason I anticipated season 2. Tan Jian Ci looks great in this kind of genre, I enjoyed love me, love my voice because I am a huge Zhou ye fan, but I don’t know I wasn’t fully immersed with him as the lead there.
anyway back to this review, I’m in a point wherein I’m just annoyed with the other two main leads XY & TJ so if they will
follow the novels ending maybe they deserve each other grrrr.
Incest during the earlier period was a thing, probably if CX and XY didn’t separate at a young age their probable love line would’ve been plausible, but hence overtime people change. I understood where he was coming from being in such a traumatic childhood losing people he truly cares about, only having XY but later on it became an obsession, I’m quite sad that they couldn’t fulfill the promises they had for each other.
As for XL, he’s carrying such a great burden, and base on his decisions so far it was for the greater good (more lives at stake) but my heart is hurting for him, yes he may be too harsh but remember he was never used to feeling what love and affection is like, and no one really taught him that, until he met XY…
As for CF, he was such an easy going dude but I think I’m not as invested because there were very little to no interactions between him and XY comparing it to the screen time XY had with the other 3 ML. But he was a good option to be honest, willing to be loyal and faithful to XY, willing to let her do whatever she wants… but yes there’s no chemistry… and later on he realized his feelings for her weren’t so deep, so I’m happy for him not getting messed up with XY’s slefishness and indecisiveness.
As for TJ, I’m sorry I really started disliking him S1 midway and more on this S2, I just find him so pathetic, at times manipulative, and calculative. Like yes he’s loyal like a dog but that’s about it. He is utterly pathetic, and a lousy clan leader, he’s selfish if you look at the bigger picture. Yes they could careless about others only wanting and focusing on their feelings but man that’s unrealistic.
XY ughh don’t get me started, I wanted or envisioned her to be a more badass FL tbh, why can’t she be more grateful being able to focus on her medicine, her archery, spending time with her brother, sister, and grandfather, she’s becoming more and more annoying. She doesn’t realize the life she’s living now is all thanks to other people who makes/made sacrifices for her to live a more unrestrained life, but here she is yapping about her past, and making it about her. But CX and XL had more traumatic past, and are continuously suffering in the present for the greater good (for a lot of people)
UPDATE: wow XY how can she be so self centered, yes she faced countless of hardships and was traumatized and still uses that card to make her seem so pitful, but CX’s experiences and hardships from his younger years up to the present day were and are more traumatizing, and he’s been sacrificing so much like XL, but here she is making it about her, it’s between her feelings and the greater good. She’s too selfish, doesn’t she realize she’s been living so freely nowadays because of everyone else’s effort? but here she is still holding onto the past as if she’s the only one w/ a scarred past?! CX and XL are the ones who are pitful, the burdens they have as an individual.

woohoo
renewed my Viu subscription for this and it’s worth it. I’ve been in a k-drama slump for so long after marry my husband, and Doona. I totally enjoyed those series. I couldn’t continue lovely runner nor Queen of tears. (I know a lot loved those series) but it wasn’t for me, I wasn’t glued nor did it resonate with me. I’m sorry don’t come after me. Anyway I’m only at ep 3 of good partner and I’ve been hooked in an instant it’s not so heavy but it’s a pretty good series. although Jang Nara’s been portraying a wife that has been cheated on for a handful of series but by far this is my most favorite one haha. Was this review helpful to you?
ughhhh
I’m only at episode 5 & I’ve skipped a couple of seconds already even minutes, it’s way too cringey. The FL is pretty, yes but her character and her acting here is soooo cringey I couldn’t stand it. the ML is so so I liked him in Put your head on my shoulder, not much on derailment just the parts where he cried, it looked so fake and couldn’t feel an ounce of emotion out of his crying scenes there. I don’t know, I think I’ll drop this one pretty soon. it’s a waste of time. Again it’s just my opinion…Was this review helpful to you?

The beginning was intriguing and exciting, but then it declined.
It was a promising series, a girl trying to get out of slavery etc. It was intriguing at the beginning but eventually took a decline as the series progresses. It went from being a female centric series then there were too many unnecessary scenes, & then I kinda lost it from there. Some scenes went from this then all of a sudden it was filled with bloodshed that could’ve avoided and saved some of the characters. I want to rant so much more… but it’s just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. it felt like the story was everywhere moving forward episodes 16, 17-18 was my least favorite so far.I was captivated at first and then eventually I slowly lost interest it was that boring, and sometimes cringey. :/ but acting wise both leads especially the ML did well.

I renewed my youku sub for this?!
Hello, I’m almost halfway through watching the series as I write this review. It's not as captivating as "The Double." I found myself getting distracted and realized that the show was still playing while I was tinkering on my phone. In my opinion, there were tons of plot holes and unnecessary scenes. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two leads; I'm sorry, but I just couldn't see or feel it.I was really looking forward to watching this show, so much so that I renewed my Youku subscription, as it had more available episodes than Netflix. To be frank, I am quite disappointed. I loved The Double, even though I wasn't a big fan of the female lead; I just couldn't watch her face for long.
They could have improved the plot; there are more dragging scenes than watchable ones.
The male lead was so pleasant in the eyes, and I like how he rarely smiles but when he does, oh my! :)

First and foremost prepare your tissues. 🥲This is by far my most favorite Chinese Movie so far, aside from yesterday once more. This movie made me smile, laugh, cry, and made me appreciate life itself. The film
reminded me of how short our lives are, and how we tend to take it for granted.
The movie for some may seem too fast paced, but it was beautifully done. The cinematography was impeccable.
This film only cemented my love for Zhou Ye, aside from her pretty face. She can definitely act, she conveyed every emotion perfectly. I can’t praise her enough ♥️
Actually the whole cast did amazing. The ML was great and very charismatic. This movie deserves so much love, and I’m
not surprised that it did well during the premier.

Mindblown
For this series it will depend if it’ll suit your style, I am enjoying this series tbh and I can’t wait for the final two episodes 9-10. I’m not full on romance fluffy kind, I enjoy a wide array of genres from fantasy, crime, thriller, romance etc. What pulled me in the most is how well most of the Actors portrayed their character, and how intriguing it is wanting to read their thoughts but couldn’t.. how utterly creepy and scary the antagonist is. But also having thoughts of how ridiculous the whole thing was wherein Adults had very little to no say at all with all the crazy happenings. But again it’s a series some scenes are so realistic because it does happen in real life especially how bad bullying is in general. Was this review helpful to you?

2nd Best Bad Ass Female Character (Top 1 will be Heyan, Legend of a female General)
A journey to love is not just about the love between the two leads, but to me it meant so much more. A love for their brotherhood/comrades, their country, etc.Although the last few episodes were such a let down,it was really rushed and sloppily done. The beginning and the half of this series was really the best in my opinion, yes there were a handful of unnecessary scenes and deaths but this series made me shed buckets of tears and at the same time made me laugh so hard.
it wasn’t a perfect series but this is far way better than a couple of series I’ve watched.
There were a lot of loop holes if you ask me, and a lot of questionable, and over the top scenes. My favorite character would be the female lead, she’s gorgeous, and portrayed the character with so much conviction, such a bad a**! but overall it’s the comaradery and friendship of the 5 heaven realms soldiers that really made me emotionally invested in this series. I just disapprove of some deaths here, there were a lot of unbelievable scenarios that pissed me off, halfway I stopped watching and just resumed recently and finally decided to finish it once and for all. I binged watched episodes 1-30 in one seating 😆. Yuan Lu was such a likable character not because he was fragile w/ a heart disease but he brings out the kid in yo, kinda happy vibe, but he was so strong willed as well. Yu Shi San was so hilarious, same goes to Qian zhao, and li huan they all have this such likeable vibes to them.
At times Li tong guang was so annoying, but I couldn’t dislike him, I’m sorry he was pathetic most of the time but I have a soft spot for him.
I enjoyed seeing familiar faces that I’ve seen before, actors from scent of time, the double, till the end of the moon.

So so
it’s an okay series for me, but I’ve been skipping a bit on some scenes, Chemisty is okay too. But plot’s nothing new. if you just want something to enjoy this is an okay series. it’s not the kind that would pull you in and make you feel different emotions & would make you want to finish the whole thing without skipping. overall it’s bearable and sometimes enjoyable, The ML looks good and very manly not your typical skinny tall ML. The FL is cute but I think a straight or wavy hair would look better on her, her curly long hair felt so heavy whenever I see her heheheWas this review helpful to you?
Finished in one seating… haha
I thought I’d drop this I wasn’t in to it in the beginning episode 1 to be exact but luckily I pushed through all though I felt that this could’ve been a 16 episode series, overall I enjoyed it.. there were missing scenes that would’ve been nice if they touched upon, but I also like that it wasn’t dragging at all.. kinda fast paced.. really wish they made it longer. The chemistry is there believe me, I rarely get butterflies but when I do it’s really there. I liked it because of the ML and FL, and how effectively annoying the antagonists are. there’s room for improvements on some parts of the storyline but still I’m satisfied. It was worth my time, thank goodness I stumbled upon this, after dropping Everyone loves me (c-drama)Was this review helpful to you?
hmmmm
At first it was very confusing, I held on because I’ve seen the lead guy on a couple of c-drama. he’s good looking and tall but I particularly felt he was a bit lacking on most of the emotional scenes. his crying scene weren’t captivating nor did I emphatize, I think he needs to improve on that… I cry easily & for this particular series I did not. There were scenes that I hope they didn’t focus too much on it was unnecessary tbh, I had to skip some parts too, Although they did answer all the questions that was running on my head but there were so many extra scenes that should’ve been replaced with… The ending felt so rushed too. there were some nice points and scenes from the series but it had more blah moments, I wished they emphasized on a few things rather than adding uneseccary lengthy parts. Chemistry was okay, if you have so much time on your plate you may try watching this bt it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. over all it was okay for me but YES there are far better c-dramas/series out there. Was this review helpful to you?
currently watching this…
I like the main lead (guy) and I’m quite irked with the female lead… just give me stalkerish vibes and a little bit annoying, but her best friend/classmate, she’s really pretty in my opionion, and has more depth in character, I do like her way better than the female lead. watching it because base on the reviews it’s a nice sweet drama. so let’s see if I’ll continue watching it or will just eventually drop this, by far my favorite c-dramas are love O2O, lost you forever, put your head on my shoulder. I enjoyed watching I hear you, and some of shen Yuen’s series..Was this review helpful to you?
phew
This is my personal opinion, review so don’t get upset with me if it doesn’t coincide with your own opinion & review. 😊This show for me had pros and cons, what I love most would be the dynamics (on the latter part of the whole serie), love and support the Cheng family has for Niaoniao, although there were many questionable scenes, sometimes lacking too.
I skipped a few parts as well because it was just too dragging for me, I hoped they were able to fill in the questionable scenes though, instead there were too many add ons of unnecessary scene. The second thing I love most is the dynamics and laughter it had brought me from the empress, to the king so on. There were scenes that I cried but they killed it midway because they try hard too much on putting a comedic scene right before the dramatic scenes.. The ML on my opinion he’s okay, but it seemed as if he only had one facial expression all through out, like wanting to go to the bathroom real bad, that’s just my opinion. I’m really not a fan of Lu si, I think this is the 2nd series that I completed from her, aside from I hear you. The rest I’ve seen but eventually I gave up on them, I don’t know maybe her acting is not my cup of tea, although I’ve watched Bai Lu, and Zhou Ye (my Chinese bias)
lu si, I’ve noticed a big change on her appreance too, too much PS from her beginnings and gradually to the present time, I can’t seem to watch leads who looks too unreal almost plasticky like.
Anyhow, I did laugh and cry on some scenes. It was an okay series for me, but not as how others hyped it about.

one of the best c-series for me
Where do I begin?… I was able to finish this in a day technically, started it mid day and ended it today around past 1 pm.In my opinion, this has got to be my most favorite c-series, from lost you forever, this has became my number 1 c-drama.
I was so immersed in this, FL I love her from back to the brink but not in everyone loves me, she’s was excellent here. She had so much chemistry with all the cast tbh.
a whirl wind of emotions indeed, This series made me laugh, cry, mad, happy, touched etc. countelsss times. I have nothing but praises but of crouse there’s room for improvement, I hoped they added more episodes I kept wanting to know more about certain situations, but over all this is such a beautiful series… it’s not shallow, but it’s truly remarkable and enjoyable, you’ll get a lot of hope, realizations, and lessons.
I love it so muchhhhu!!!!

I emphatize with Hae Eun
I must admit I’ve skipped a couple of scenes, except Hae Eun’s parts.. I came across this comment on Reddit and thought I’d share it here since it’s exactly how I felt and what I wanted to share from a viewers pov…Haeeun was the star of the show because she was open and honest with her feelings, and a lot of the scenes were so cinematic people thought they were directed lol. Like, this scene where she watches Nayeon and Gyumin excitedly leave for their date and tries to hold her tears back while she does her makeup in front of the mirror. It gives heartbroken heroine. And she's said since that she didn't even know there was a camera in that mirror because there are tons of things she did in front of there (like changing) that she wouldn't have done if she'd known.
And then the scene where she is talking to Jisoo (who was going on a date with Gyumin) and she's pretending that he sends her lots of texts when everyone (including the viewers) knows she's lying. It's admittedly pathetic, and Jisoo even laughs, but it captured a lot of hearts because you can feel her desperation and her honesty - she wasn't there to make lots of money or be popular with the audience, she was just in love with her ex, which is the whole premise of the show.
There's also the scene in the second half of this video where she comes out of the house after lying to Jisoo about the texts and she just cries and cries, and her legs give out from under her from all that crying. A lot of people have experienced that - when you're just so heartbroken that your body has no strength to contain all those emotions. And she wasn't doing that for the cameras, she was doing that in the dark, on the pavement. It's pathetic, but it's relatable. Not all of us can be super cool badasses when we come into contact with an ex, and not many of us have been in love with someone for as long as she has.
You're allowed to not like her, but you could not script a better storyline for a show if you tried. It's gorgeous and heartbreaking and pathetic and desperate. And she made amends with her ex, her ex cried over his heartbreak too (that scene in the car is so heartbreaking as well), and she got a man who loved her despite all that heartbreak and history. That's why she's the star of the show, not necessarily because she had the best personality or the healthiest relationship.
(my addition to this comment)
Despite her struggles and pain, she was never calculative nor manipulative, she was genuinely a kind person, who went through so much…
