Their opinions of life got reversed
Mi Sha and XingXing had more than a genuine friendship, they shared a treasurable bond between them which can't be named just as a friendship. MiSha helped XingXing in realising her dreams, while XingXing was like a mother to her which she never had. Though they were drifted apart due to misunderstandings and in a fit of anger, their place in other's life was irreplaceable. After years, they had a bittersweet reunion, however, I'm sure that the only regret XingXing had was that she didn't get more time to spend with MiSha. Also, she wants MiSha to get out of her regrets and live her life better. When LuLi entered in between them, initially it was cute and heart-warming to watch but things started to get complicated when they began to catch feelings for each other. I was thankful to him for taking care of XingXing as a faithful childhood friend, but did that only because he was the reason her mother died. That's such a turn off!
As the title suggests, their destinies or I can say their perspectives of their mother swapped at some point. MiSha thought her mother abandoned her, only to find out that she didn't leave her but got into an accident. And XingXing who was fond of her mother's love, got a reality check that she (XingXing's mother) regretted having her. It was a lot to handle for both of them, yet it was a relief that they had someone to lean on. And it definitely wasn't LuLi.
MiSha and XingXing's closeness give lowkey Sapphic taste to the movie. The entire time while watching the movie, I wished for it to turn into a GL. LuLi's presence was just to bring a rift between them. That's it. I didn't find other significance for his character. It's sad that he had to pay the price with an life-long injury.
Actors did a great job at conveying their emotions. Anger. Betrayal. Love. Pity. All of it was outstanding. Actress who played as XingXing deserves a special praise to act the scenes where XingXing suffers from episodes also actress who played MiSha, while shooting the harrassing scene. It must've been quite traumatic.
All over, this was an excellent movie to watch that will definitely leave you with buckets of tears.

Once tight, now just a memory
In this film, Mo Xingxing, Mi Sha, and Lu Li are supposed to be a trio of best friends. But honestly, the only real and wholesome friendship is between Mo Xingxing and Mi Sha. Their bond is super sweet, worth to watch!Things start falling apart when Mi Sha secretly catches feelings for Lu Li and gets jealous seeing how much he cares about Mo Xingxing when she’s sick. Meanwhile, Mo Xingxing is this girl who’s really poor—like, eating actual garbage-level food. On top of that, she struggles with bulimia and anorexia, and doesn’t get any love from her family. So when someone like Lu Li shows her so much kindness, of course she starts to fall for him.
But here’s the thing... Lu Li’s only being nice to her out of guilt, since Mo Xingxing’s mom dead from saving his life. Deep down, he’s actually into Mi Sha. At first, I thought Lu Li was this selfless, caring guy, but then the ending totally threw me off. He ends up snapping at Mo Xingxing, saying he’s sick of pretending and can’t even be honest about his own feelings because he’s been “serving” her all this time. Like… seriously??? That’s your problem. Mo Xingxing never asked you to do all that. That scene made me so mad.
And don’t even get me started on Mi Sha. I disliked how she acted when she got jealous—like, she literally skipped visiting Mo Xingxing when she was sick, even though she had arrived, just because she saw Mo Xingxing got "affection" from Lu Li. Instead, she went off alone, brought a ton of food, and just started tearing open the packaging and taking tiny bites out of everything. It felt so wasteful. She’s rich, yeah, but that whole scene came off as, “Look, I can afford all this food and eat whatever I want—unlike Mo Xingxing who’s so poor she can barely eat proper food.” It was such a low-key flex in the worst way. She did it on her own, so it wasn’t really a problem—but it definitely says a lot about her character.
And then… the last straw was when Mo Xingxing got mad at Mi Sha for transferring schools without telling her, and Mi Sha got mad because Mo Xingxing never opened up about her illness. Then all the problems were never solved. All of them were bad at communicating. After that, Mi Sha just dipped—left everyone behind—and the story jumps back to the present, where she’s all grown up and reminiscing.
Honestly, I feel like the storyline was kinda messy and could’ve been handled better. But their friendship before all the miscommunication and emotional mess? Super cute and heartwarming. Also, the cinematography was pretty decent—lots of scenes that are totally screenshot-worthy.

A Bittersweet Reunion
Mi Sha and Xing Xing’s heartfelt friendship really touched me. Although they drifted apart, fate brings them back together in an unexpected way as adults. It was kind of bitter sweet — so better prepare some tissues! The romance part was kind of a side story but still good enough to make me fall in love with Mi Sha and Lu Li — they’re soooo cute together! Was this review helpful to you?
