Love upon a Time

Both are supernatural themed BL dramas that are produced by the same company Domundi. The main character meets his love interest that has a connection to his previous life.

Literally the same story! I think they stole the story. Both are about people who accidentally time travel to the same old era in the past. They both have to adapt to their life in the past and they fall in love with the hot guy who works for them. Both from a royal family and a forbidden BL romance. Both have a comedic ML and there's funny moments.

-Time Travel. In Love Upon a Time, it's a physical instead of a mental travel.
-Murder Mystery with more suspects and multiple people at fault.
-Main character death, but also not.
-Main character labeled as "mad/crazy"

In both dramas, the main character travels back in time and becomes a servant, then falls in love with an aristocrat man in the past.

Both BL dramas have fated lovers and reincarnation plots whereby the main characters were lovers in both their past and current lives. There is also some supernatural elements as well.

Both are Thai BL dramas that have plots about reincarnation and time travel with a past life and present life.

- Net and JJ, the main couple, makes a cameo as a couple in Episode 6!

Completely different plot HOWEVER both shows have the same lead actors / couple. Even though the shows are different the interactions between the actors is similar

Both are historical Thai BL dramas, however Memoir of Rati is set in the 1910s and Love Upon a Time is set before that. Both are about the the relationship between an upper class and lower class character for the main couple and both showcase Muay Thai boxing as a plot for the side couple.

One of the two leads, after being warned of something dangerous in the future, he & his lover are chased by criminals into an alley that sends them into the past during the 1890s or 2433 Buddhist era. This is where they must adapt to their time there and find their way back to the present day.

Love Upon a Time and Love in the Moonlight both deal with the pressures of a homophobic society and the tension between love and duty.

Similarities:
- both deal with one of the two main characters being engaged to a woman as part of their "duty" to their family (and/or country)
- intense internalized homophobia (specifically from Saenkaew in LITM and Jom in LUAT)
- both have very heartwarming friendships between the main characters
- YEARNING--THE YEARNING IS CRAZY
- both will make you BAWL be prepared to CRY

Differences:
- LUAT is set in the Ayutthaya period while LITM is set between 1964-1965
- LUAT involves time travel and reincarnation
- LITM focuses on one mlm couple whereas LUAT features two

I recommend both of them they are MASTERPIECES, just absolutely EXCELLENT BLs you will not regret watching <3

Love Upon A Time and To Sir, With Love both explore the societal pressure to conform to a heternormative existence and the intense agony experienced by those who must deny who they love for "duty" and "normalcy".

Similarities:
- internalized homophobia is intense in both (mainly Jom in LUAT and Tian in TSWL)
- both have main characters who (initially) sacrifice their queer love to please their families through an arranged marriage to a woman (Phop in LUAT and Tian in TSWL)
- both reveal tragic stories of queer couples (that took place prior to the story) that characters use to reinforce internal (and external) homophobia

Differences:
- LUAT involves time travel and reincarnation
- TSWL is decidedly more soap opera/lakorn-ish with exceedingly high stakes as characters try to thwart the main characters' relationship
- TSWL features a wholesome (and tearjerking (in a good way)) brotherly bond between half-brothers Tian and Yang
- set in different time periods

Both main lead's time travelled to past and find their true love.They both went back nearly four hundred years to the Ayutthaya Kingdom. We might able to see the Ayutthaya culture in those dramas.
