Great Show - Contrary to expectations.

Ok, I really liked this show!!!
So while I do like most every genre of K-Drama, I prefer 사극 (historical k-dramas). That being said, the title and poster for this show in particular looked very "teen Disney-esque" and I hesitated watching it for a while. However, because I liked Ahn Bo Hyun in "Military Prosecutor Dobermann", and the ratings for this show seemed to be going up every week, I finally gave it a shot.

I wasn't convinced at first. The whole over the top rich guy act, the mall SWAT Team scene and a few other things had me very skeptical. But then it started to pick up steam and got better and better and better and - WOW!

The story was fleshed out nicely and you don't see the twist coming until the end. The acting was great and the character development was awesome. I really enjoyed how the team struggled initially but grew as a whole.

Can't wait for season 2

Typical but Refreshing plot

First of all The Casting of this drama was amazing, Ahn Bo hyun as the rich, spoilt yet kind brat was the best thing you’ll get to watch.
I know the story is very typical classic crime/action comic drama plot and I am sure like me everyone will have correctly guessed the main culprit at the very beginning of the drama but guess what its still an enjoyable drama.
When I was watching the second week I wasn't sure if the wanted to continue if the plot hadn't evolved. And yes, thankfully the plot and minor character developments were already visible.
And from 5th episode onwards, there was no turning back, the drama really covered very interesting criminal cases which made each ep exciting.
I was gonna give an 8.5 coz I think they could've done better in the 1st 4 eps BUT I'm giving this drama story a solid 9 just for how beautiful the character developments were.
Overall its a VERY typical kdrama plot but due to different cases covered and how mischievous Ahn Bohyun acted, this drama became really Refreshing.

An amazing show with amazing Leads!!

I loved this show so much. everything about it is perfect. literally zero flaws. our main lead character is amazing. he is rich yet he is not arrogant. he knows what he is capable and not insecure. our female lead who is little bit cold but as the plot goes on you will find her so wholesome. i would rate this plot 10/10. each week there was a new case which kept me interested and wanting to watch more and more. comedy aspect of this show is really good too. our main leads gave us a good laugh. ????

many people did not liked female lead in the beginning. but as you watch it you will understand more about her and trust me by the end you’ll love her!!

i’m so glad there is a season where we can expect to see more cases and romance between two leads ?

for me this is a 10/10 drama. i had so much fun watching. definitely in my top 10 list.

Interesting mix of genre

Flex X Cop is a drama that has an interesting mix of crime, action and comedy.

The story plot focus on Kang Ha Police Station's Team 1 (consisting of FL Lee Kang Hyun, Park Joon Young, Choi Kyung Jin and the new addition chaebol ML Jin Yisoo) solving a series of crimes together. Yisoo, despite being a newly appointed detective, tried his best to solve crimes with the rest of the Team 1 using his connections and power as a Chaebol.

What I enjoyed about this drama was how some of the crime cases were cleverly weaved together as the stepping stone for the subsequent episodes. There are also plot twists within the drama, which makes Flex X Cop interesting to watch. I also liked how the drama show both the FL and ML personal backstory.

Acting wise, I personally enjoyed the synergy between the FL (Park Ji Hyun) and ML (Ahn Bo Hyun) and their skills were great.

I am excited to see what Flex X Cop 2 would be able to showcase in the future.

A Thrilling Blend of Action, Mystery, and Character-Driven Drama

Flex X Cop quickly became one of my favorite K-dramas of 2024. The story hooked me from the beginning, focusing on Jin Yi Soo, a chaebol who unexpectedly joins the police force. Each episode brought new cases and developments, ensuring there was never a dull moment. I loved how the show balanced its fast-paced narrative with deeper emotional moments.
Ahn Bo Hyun's portrayal of Jin Yi Soo was phenomenal. He managed to capture the essence of a privileged chaebol transitioning into a competent and dedicated police officer. His character's growth throughout the series felt genuine and compelling. The chemistry between Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun, who plays the female lead, was another highlight. Their evolving relationship from initial disdain to mutual respect and partnership added a rich layer to the story without relying on romance, which I found refreshing.
The direction and cinematography were also top-notch. The action scenes were exciting and well-executed, and the emotional scenes were handled with sensitivity, making the show visually and emotionally engaging. I appreciated the balance of light-hearted and serious moments, which kept the tone fresh and engaging throughout the series.
The soundtrack complemented the drama perfectly, enhancing the atmosphere without overpowering the scenes. Although the music wasn't the standout element for me, it definitely supported the overall experience and helped maintain the show's tone.
What impressed me most was the show's ability to stay unpredictable. Each episode brought something new and exciting, and the plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. The character development was thorough, and each supporting character had their own story, which added depth to the narrative.

Overall, Flex X Cop is a must-watch. It's a perfect blend of action, mystery, and character-driven storytelling. I found myself eagerly anticipating each episode, and now I'm hoping for a second season to see more of these characters and their stories. If you're a fan of K-dramas that offer a bit of everything; action, humor, emotional depth. This series is definitely worth your time.

A lightweight thriller+action drama

If you are looking for a thriller but with less messy/bloody scence but with a touch of humour than go for it.

Particularly, It isn't a thriller drama but for a beginner it is a good option.......Even if you are not a beginner and want relief from mind boggling investigation ,mysterious plot and anxiety you can consider watching it.

The drama is lightweighted with a touch of mystery, action, thrill and comedy...........may get vibe of Batman or rich man getting in trouble on purpose for fun because why not.

You don't have to rack your mind as the story unfolds all your doubts will be solved.

Yes, it is a good watch.

Quirky Fun in a Light-Hearted Detective Drama

Flex Cops was a thoroughly enjoyable drama, especially for those who like detective stories that don’t take themselves too seriously. The male lead (ML) is particularly memorable for his quirky personality, adding humour and fresh elements to the crime-solving scenes. While some of the mysteries in the series might not be very surprising, they are still fun to watch unfold.

This series successfully combines elements of mystery and comedy, ensuring that the audience is consistently entertained, even if the outcomes are somewhat predictable. The interactions and antics of the characters provide plenty of laughs and keep the mood light. This drama is a great choice for viewers looking for a detective drama that offers humour, a laid-back approach to the genre, and enough suspense to keep things interesting.

amazing acting with a side of good storyline

characters were really well flashed out and even better acted out.
it didn't feel dragged out because of multiple cases, character development was good, just wish it had ended on a bit different note yk. but still, the end was acceptable and realistic.

over all good drama
the cast was just perfect though.

waiting for season 2 :)

A Match Made in Crime: The Unexpected Pairs That Stole Our Hearts

Okay, so let me just start by saying that I didn’t expect to get so hooked on *Flex X Cop*. Honestly, I started watching it thinking I might drop it after a few episodes—like, "Okay, this is probably just another typical crime drama, right?" Well, WRONG. This show completely snuck up on me.

First things first, if you’re someone who needs a bit of romance to stay invested in a show, let me give you a little tip: make sure you get through at least the first four episodes. I know, I know—it might seem slow at first, especially if you’re waiting for that spark between the leads. But trust me, it’s worth the wait. The chemistry between Jin Yi Soo (our chaebol-turned-cop) and Detective Lee Kang Hyun doesn’t just happen overnight. It’s more of a “we don’t like each other at all” to “hey, maybe you’re not so bad” vibe, which is refreshing because it feels so natural and unforced.

And speaking of Jin Yi Soo, let’s talk about how much of a gem this character is. He’s got everything—he’s funny, witty, a bit of a show-off, and somehow manages to be both smart and adorably clueless at the same time. Ahn Bo Hyun was absolutely the perfect choice for this role. Seriously, every time he pulls out one of his fancy moves or just flashes that smile, I’m like, “Yep, this guy is killing it.” Oh, and his hair? Immaculate. I’ve never seen gelled hair look so good episode after episode.

Now, about the cases—they’re not the super complex, mind-bending type that leaves you questioning everything. They’re more like, “Oh, I didn’t see that coming!” and then you find yourself completely drawn into solving it alongside Yi Soo. What’s cool is how the show plays with the idea of how a rich guy would tackle these cases versus how a regular detective would. It’s a fun dynamic that keeps things fresh.

And then there’s the slow-burn romance. Let me tell you, I am HERE for it. At first, Kang Hyun (the female lead) can be a bit annoying, and I was like, “Girl, why are you so difficult?” But as the episodes roll on, she starts to open up, and I found myself really rooting for her. The whole enemies-to-friends trope is done so well—it doesn’t feel rushed or forced. Every little moment between them feels earned, you’re totally invested.

As for the story overall, it’s been super engaging. The drama does a great job of building tension and keeping you guessing, especially when it comes to Yi Soo’s mysterious past. The cases might be simple, but they’re never boring, and the way the leads’ relationship develops alongside these cases is just spot on.

So yeah, Flex X Cop isn’t perfect—there are definitely a few moments that made me raise an eyebrow (like, how did Yi Soo manage to hypnotize a specialist?), but honestly, I’m willing to overlook those because the show is just so much fun. Plus, the cast is fantastic, from the main leads to the supporting characters. Everyone just fits, and that makes the whole experience that much better.

In short, if you’re looking for something that’s entertaining, has a bit of everything—comedy, action, mystery, and a dash of romance—then give Flex X Cop a go. You won’t regret it. And if you do, well, at least you’ll get to see Ahn Bo Hyun looking ridiculously handsome while solving crimes. I call that a win-win!

BEYOND pleasantly surprised!

The trailers looked silly, and Ahn Bo Hyun has never been one of my favorites. He's always been that support character that I've enjoyed well enough, but he hasn't wowed me when he's been the lead. All of that has changed with Flexx Cop. But let's back up a little to initial thoughts.

STORY: A chaebol that is used to playing RPG, suddenly finds himself as a cop. This could have gone quickly bad if he had been made out to be stupid. I loved how he was able to look at cases from a different perspective that the cops hadn't thought of. I also loved how he seemed to throw money at almost every case, providing help/resources that only his massive wealth could bring. I'm a big fan of having a case take just a little over an episode. This keeps it from being drawn out needlessly and keeps things moving.
Friendships: I loved to watch the development with the four main characters. Impatience/mistrust/dislike turn to caring and trust. I was halfway through the drama when it struck me how organically the friendships developed. With each case, the other cops grew to like Yi Soo. I love how they came to appreciate/like Yi Soo and were there to support him and keep him safe when he was struggling.
Romance: Hmmm. Okay, so I'll admit I'm a dyed-in-the-wool romantic. I thought the story line of the cop and the medical examiner was cute. However, I wasn't feeling it between Yi Soo and Kang Hyun. I think the writers purposely didn't develop in, knowing that they would have a season 2. I just really enjoyed them getting to know one another and coming to depend on each other.

ACTING: Excellent. Ahn Bo Hyun owned this role. He could have come off as obnoxious, but he played it so innocent that you couldn't help but like him from the get-go. He really had to run the gamut of emotions in this role, and he nailed every one of them. The scene toward the end with Yi Soo and Kang Hyun's mother just about broke my heart. Everyone was excellent in their roles, Kwak Shi Yang as Seung Joo kept me guessing for quite some time. I was disappointed in the direction he took, but I realize that's the only way it could go. I really liked the casting of Kim Shin Bi as Hyung Jin, the youngest cop of the group. He had the sweet innocence that played nicely against the more seasoned and jaded cops. The hero worship he had for Yi Soo was so fun.

MUSIC: There were some nice songs that faded into the background.

REWATCH VALUE: Usually, the only shows I rewatch are the good romantic scenes from shows I've watched. However, this was so good I'm going to watch it again right away!

WISH LIST FOR SEASON TWO: I'm not normally a fan of a show having a second season, because it's all been done in season one. Going from dislike to working together as a team - that was a big part of this season, and one of the things that made it so enjoyable. I don't know how the writers plan to do this, but I hope that they keep the format of a case an episode. And if you can't give us a good, hot, chemistry-filled, believable romance, just leave the romance out. They are great as friends.

Honestly, I can't get over how much I enjoyed this show!

WOW….Just WOW!!!

Been in a kdrama slump for a year now and this show brought me out of it!

The pacing and way everything just unfolds is so satisfying and consistent. I’ve seen so many shows that start out this way and just fumble it all halfway into the show. But this drama is just consistent.

Each of the characters are intriguing and captivating. They’re basically onions?. They all have depth to them and are written so well. Just when you think you have the km figured out another thing comes along and your like “wait what!?” I didn’t expect that.
In a show like this having a 1 dimensional character works against it. Even characters that only show up for 1-2 episodes also have a certain level of depth to them. This just shows how good of a show it is

Jin Isoo at first glance seems like those rich chaebols we always see who have so much money no personality or common sense. As we get to know him, we realize his recklessness and nonchalant attitude is cause by many things.
1. his mothers death
2. life with his father & stepmom
3. knowing he’s an illegitimate child and having to compensate for that.

A character like his is so easy to write off and make him the same way we’ve grown accustomed to but they kept showing us who he truly is underneath that façade.

GangHyun she is a character! At first I hated her and the way she treated Isoo but soon realized she rarely trusted people because of what her dad experienced. She was just scarred and it didn’t help Isoo was also the way he was

my recommendation

In my opinion, this drama is light, good acting, and really like the actors, very good for family viewing, doesn't have scenes that are too mature, this is really recommended in my opinion,This is a drama that tells the story of a rich man's son who was involved with a victim of a wrongful arrest which resulted in him being jailed for 1 day, after which an argument occurred between him and his father.after that he was appointed as a policeman and he carried it out well and The plot twist is also there and that's enough
