Better be ready for some blood
It's been a while since I watched a gangster fight K-drama. This one was pretty solid, with intense fight scenes and brutal gore. Half the time, blood was flying everywhere.What I really liked was how the betrayal was portrayed—it felt raw and impactful. But on the other hand, I found it funny that despite being in power for 11 years, the lackeys and lower subordinates didn’t even have guns at the beginning. And when assassination attempts happened, no one really had firearms. It was only near the end that some guns showed up—and even then, they were pretty useless.
Overall, I really enjoyed this drama. It stayed focused and on point the whole time. That final line hit hard: “Once you sit on the chair of power but can’t hold it, it all seems meaningless.” That one had real depth.

Action, action, action
If you are a fan action, visceral, bone crunching, artery spraying action, then this show is for you. It’s dark and gritty and the tension stays high, but the action is the highlight. It’s non-stop, beginning to end. The plot might not be original, but it is well done and So Ji Sub’s larger than life presence grounds the show and makes it all work. Huge kudos to the stunt team, choreographers, and action directors, they did brilliant work. And the cinematography is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous! I just finished watching Mercy to None, and wow… I’m still recovering emotionally. This K-drama completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. From the first episode, it pulls you in with intense storytelling, a dark atmosphere, and characters that are anything but predictable.The lead actor absolutely nailed the role – his transformation from a quiet civil servant to a cold, calculated vigilante is chilling and heartbreaking at the same time. You can literally feel his pain and desperation in every scene. And the female lead? Don’t even get me started. She’s not your typical K-drama heroine; she’s fierce, flawed, and you can’t help but root for her even when she’s making morally gray choices.
The plot twists are insane. Just when you think you’ve figured something out, the show flips the script completely. There were moments I had to pause just to process what happened. And the cinematography? Chef’s kiss. The way they play with shadows and silence makes the whole series feel like a high-quality thriller movie.
I also appreciated how Mercy to None didn’t shy away from the darker sides of human nature. It’s not a feel-good drama, but it’s thought-provoking and brutally honest about justice, revenge, and redemption. The last two episodes had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and yelling at my screen.

It is high time we needed our own John Wick/Bryan Mills.. I hope they continue this because So Ju Sub is made for this type of role..
I am loving it so far.. and although I have compared it with 2 of the best movies and characters in Hollywood, still do not have skyrocketing expectations.. it is different in a lot of ways..
Also, the most aptly titled drama..

Good action packed drama.
I wanted to watch it because the last I saw this kind of movie was the man from nowhere I really liked it and wanted to watch a action filled drama and then I watched this one. It is really good and action scenes are good the first punch gi jun made was impactful and was really good to watch in one action scene was so sudden I almost thrown phone from my hand.You can watch it if you want a good action revenge type story.

It Gave John Wick
Mercy for None is straight-up a revenge drama with no frills, and honestly, that’s what makes it so fun. The plot is basic as hell—Nam Gi Jun used to be a gangster, left the life after his little brother joined the rival gang, and now that said brother’s dead, he’s back in the game to wreck shop and take names. That’s it. You can literally guess what’s going to happen from a mile away, and somehow that doesn’t make it boring—it actually makes it better. This show does not slow down for a second. From the first episode, it’s just action, action, more action, and then someone gets stabbed in the neck or slammed into a wall for good measure. No downtime, no filler. It gave John Wick energy in the best way possible—like, tired ex-killer dragged back into a world he tried to escape, except in this case it’s Korean gangsterdom and he’s got nothing left to lose. The fights are brutal, choreographed like they actually hurt, and the cinematography keeps everything looking gritty and slick without being overly stylized. There’s no emotional depth to dig into here, and the characters are mostly there to either die cool or be punched in the face, but that’s part of the vibe. If you’re looking for a twisty, introspective drama, this ain’t it. But if you want to watch a guy go full beast mode on everyone who wronged him while drenched in neon lighting and blood, Mercy for None seriously delivers. It carried the essence of classic K-dramas that focused more on storytelling than just visual appeal. The plot dynamics were deeply engaging, reminiscent of the golden era of K-drama where substance often outweighed style.
That said, I personally found the detailed depiction of human killings too vivid and intense. While it served the story’s gritty tone, I believe some restraint could have been more effective. Still, the action sequences, cinematography, direction, and overall production—including the set design—were all executed with precision and purpose, heightening the mood and tension of the drama.
In fact, it felt more like a cinematic blockbuster than a conventional series. If anything, the seven-episode run seemed a bit rushed; a 10-episode format would have allowed the plot to breathe and develop more organically.
Korean creators continue to excel at revenge-driven narratives, and the webtoon writers behind these concepts are truly brilliant. Mercy for None is a testament to that synergy—an intense, well-crafted story that I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s an easy 9 out of 10 for me.

Came for youngwoo
Ngl i started watching this primarily to see youngwoo, youngwoo as a morally grey prosecutor? Yum yum. But honestly i really enjoyed it!Is it realistic? No, i mean how is one guy winning consistently against dozens of the countries best fighters despite being disabled and out of practice supposedly for 11 years... but does that matter? No! Its acted out amazingly, the scenes are all awsome. I will admit it was a little toooo bloody for my taste but thats the premise of the show, i knew from the get go itll be like that.
The acting was great overall and the cinematography too! Didnt feel like it dragged at any point.
I think there were a few moments where i sat and thought "does that acc make sense" but besides that i really enjoyed it!

Amazing story of revange and fulfillment
A brilliantly written and executed drama. The story was not stretched, with each episode containing significant events that contributed to the overall narrative. Each character is selected to play specific parts in the story—impeccable action scenes with a charismatic MC. I drama was brilliantly executed and flowed smoothly with no loose ends.
