Chang Myung is arrested because he is an offspring of the traitor family. Just before he is executed, Chang Myung is saved by Jung and hides himself in Jung's house. During hiding himself, Chang Myung marries Jung's daughter Cheon Se and later on passes the state examination. Hi Ok, the daughter of Minister Kim, tries to appoint him as a local governor ruling the border by using power because she is infatuated with him. In addition, Hi Ok entraps Chang Myung's wife Cheon Se into an awkward situation and has her kicked out of her husband's house. However, the truth becomes known in the long run.
