After the April 12th counter-revolutionary coup, Cai Ze Hong returned to Shanghai to seek out the party organization. To protect his family's identity, he used the alias Cai Wei and became acquainted with Ming Song, Xia Tian, and others from the CCP’s Special Branch in a radio training class. During the establishment of the first Red Army radio station, Cai Ze Hong’s status as a party member was confirmed, and he officially joined the radio station construction efforts. Later, he was ordered to head to the Eyuwan Soviet area with Xu Zheng Ye, Qu Xiang Dong, and others to set up the radio station. Upon arriving in the Soviet area, Cai Wei utilized his expertise in radio communications and, together with Xu Zheng Ye and Qu Xiang Dong, established the first radio station for the Fourth Red Army, while also training a group of radio talents. After the radio station was running smoothly, Cai Wei was not satisfied with its use only for sending and receiving messages. He took on the mission of intercepting enemy military intelligence, using his knowledge and understanding of the enemy commander Huang Ji Bi to repeatedly decipher the Kuomintang’s codes. His efforts allowed him to timely detect enemy troop movements, providing crucial intelligence that helped the Red Army defeat the enemy.
