Both are cultural slice of life dramas that showcase local culture. While Bloom Life is set in Kashgar of Southern Xingjian, The City of Sunlight is set in Lhasa of Tibet. Both shows also showcase lives of different people living in the respective places.

About Xingjian region.

Ming Liang, a young man chasing his artistic dreams in the big city, returns to his hometown at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains to care for his ailing adoptive mother, Ai Yi Sha. To revive Ai Yi Sha’s restaurant “Red Pomegranate”, Ming Liang accepts the challenge of Michelin chef An Dong. While growing rapidly, he also brings the poorly managed restaurant back to life.
