a caring father that will do ANYTHING for his daughter
I loved this so much it had me cryingand the actors are perfect for there roles especially Min-ji and her dad. and the daughter minji/ did a wonderful job considering this is her debut. I truly love it and recommend to anyone who is looking for something to watch and I would definitely watch it again. I truly love how unpredictable the dad and the other guys can be while trying to rescue minji and how they work together. the chemistry and everything is amazing great irony created throughout the whole drama

Best Series
idk why to say like when it started with ep1 I was like OMG!!! another epic series and I was worried if it might be boring. TRUST ME not a single ep was boring expect there were tiny bore bits but rest is absolute cinema!!!! The Story shows the friendship between men’s and relationships between father and their kids which is crazy! FATHER OF THE YEAR
If you're looking for an action-packed drama with plenty of comedy, this one is definitely worth checking out. The action scenes kept me entertained, but what really stood out was the chemistry between the main cast. The friendship and teamwork between the characters felt so natural, and they were there for each other throughout the hardships they faced. You really shouldn't mess with middle aged men in glasses😆One of my favorite aspects was the father - daughter relationship. It was incredibly heartwarming and beautifully showed how far a parent is willing to go to protect and support their child.
I also found the military setting and the North Korea related storyline really interesting. It gave the drama a unique edge and kept things exciting throughout. On top of that, the revenge element was so satisfying. I'm always here for a good revenge plot and this drama delivered.
Overall this drama kept me really entertained from start to finish. I was also watching it while it was airing so i was always in such a cliffhanger. I'd definitely recommend this!

MASTERPIECE
This K-drama is just amazing, honestly if you didn't watch it, you're missing out. I can't even describe it, it's the first time I'm publishing a review about a K-drama, so that's how you know that it's just mindblowing. The acting was just great, nothing you could nitpick or whatsoever. The characters were perfect, especially the trio and their banter just transformed the K-drama into another level. But apart from the fantastic relationship between Agent Kim, Han-soo and Jin-cheol, the father-daughter bond in this story just makes you bawl your eyes out. The plot-twists are also just chef's kiss and not one single episode is boring.Was this review helpful to you?

The Potential Was There
I was preparing to give this series a 10 around the 6 episode mark, but then we had 4 poorly executed episodes that can only be described as plot driven. It seemed the plot required the MC to keep letting the main antagonist go, just so he could continue to drive the plot by being a foil to the MC’s plans each and every time. This is like the Batman conundrum, however for a character who supposedly would do anything to save his daughter and is known for killing people mercenary style; is it too much of a leap to let him get rid of the main antagonist the second time? I guess so, or we wouldn’t have had a plot. 🙄 The last 4 episodes were less than stellar compared to the earlier episodes. I did like the last 10-15 minutes or so of the series. It was heartwarming and went back to doing what the series does best - ground itself in the relationship between the main characters.Not the worst overall but also not the best. Though the potential was there.

Nothing New Under the Sun But So Ji Sub Makes It Worth the Ride
If you have watched My Secret Terrius, Vagabond, Taken, or virtually any retired-black-ops-dad thriller from the last fifteen years, you already know the general beat of Agent Kim Reactivated. The setup is as familiar as it gets: a mild-mannered former operative hiding a lethal past tries to live a quiet life, only to be dragged back into the dark world he left behind when a personal crisis forces his hand. He breaks his vow of non-violence, gears up, and goes on a relentless mission against corrupt forces.Stripped down to its core writing, the series brings absolutely nothing new to the table. The narrative follows an exceptionally predictable formula. A quiet lead gets pushed past his breaking point, switches into full-blown beast mode, and systematically works his way up the villain food chain. The script relies heavily on standard Korean drama conveniences, featuring exaggerated villains who exist purely to be punched, over-the-top action sequences that require a massive suspension of disbelief, and sudden political subplots injected to pad out the runtime. The inclusion of complex agency conflicts feels tired and recycled, taking what could have been a tightly focused rescue story and stretching it across familiar genre tropes. On its own storytelling merits, the show is a standard, baseline 7 out of 10. It remains entertaining enough for a fast-paced weekend binge if you enjoy high-octane action, but it ultimately lacks original ideas.
Yet, despite all the cliché beats and predictable story turns, the drama earns a full extra star purely for one reason: So Ji Sub. His sheer presence on screen completely transforms what could have been a forgettable thriller into an endlessly magnetic watch. So Ji Sub has mastered the weary, soft-spoken killer archetype like no one else. Even when the dialogue leans cheesy or the plot logic stumbles, his brooding intensity, quiet emotional depth, and impressive physical acting hold the entire project together. He sells the gentle domestic moments just as convincingly as he sells single-handedly taking down a room full of foes. Watching him effortlessly command the screen gives the show an extra spark that elevates the entire experience.
Ultimately, Agent Kim Reactivated will not win any awards for groundbreaking narrative choices or innovative storytelling. It is a completely recycled revenge formula wrapped in glossy production values. However, if you tune in specifically to watch So Ji Sub look undeniably cool while kicking butt alongside a great supporting cast, it delivers exactly what you came for. It is a solid 7 out of 10 series that gets bumped up to a very satisfying 8 out of 10 simply because So Ji Sub carries it so well.

BROMANCE, FATHER'S LOVE AND STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL
This is a great K-drama that highlights the lengths a parent will go for their daughter, as well as the struggles one faces while growing up. It features friends who are there to support you. Three Middle Aged Men, One Mission: An Action Thriller with Heart and Relentless Suspense
Agent Kim Reactivated completely hooked me from the very first episode. Ji Sub delivers one of his strongest performances as Agent Kim, a former elite operative who leaves his past behind after losing his wife to dedicate his life to raising his daughter. Their relationship feels incredibly genuine, and the flashbacks of her first words, first steps, and the small moments they share make it clear that she is his entire world.When his daughter is kidnapped, Agent Kim is forced to become the man he swore he had left behind. The hidden identity storyline is executed brilliantly, blending action, mystery, crime, and suspense into an addictive ride that never loses momentum. While school violence is a familiar theme in Korean dramas, it is used effectively here to raise the emotional stakes rather than simply serving as a backdrop.
I also loved the flashbacks to Kim's childhood in North Korea. Watching the brutal training and harsh reality of becoming a Code 66 agent added so much depth to his character. It showed the sacrifices, trauma, and discipline that shaped him into such a deadly operative, making his journey even more compelling.
The action is outstanding. Every fight scene is intense, realistic, and beautifully choreographed, while the soundtrack constantly builds tension and keeps you on edge.
The biggest highlight of the series, however, is the trio of middle aged men. Kim, his former soldier friend Jin Cheol, and his taekwondo friend Gang Chan completely steal the show. They have watched Min Ji grow up, so when she is taken, her dad and two honorary uncles immediately step in to save her. Their chemistry is fantastic, balancing explosive action with genuinely hilarious comedy.
Jin Cheol was easily my favourite character. He had me laughing throughout the series, and his humour never took away from the tension. Instead, it made the emotional moments even stronger. Watching the three of them fight side by side was one of the best parts of the drama. My favourite scene was the incredible truck sequence where their car is pulled into the trailer. I have never seen anything like it before. It felt straight out of a Mission: Impossible film and was one of the most thrilling action scenes I have watched in a K drama.
This series perfectly balances an emotional father and daughter story with laugh out loud comedy, brutal action, mystery, and nonstop suspense. I cried more than once, laughed constantly, and was completely invested from beginning to end. It ticks every box, and I was so addicted that I finished all eight episodes in a single sitting.
Without a doubt, one of my favourite K dramas of the year. If you love action, thrillers, mystery, crime, hidden identities, former agents, emotional family relationships, and edge of your seat suspense, Agent Kim Reactivated is an easy recommendation.

Netflix concept: Great Idea Ruined by Greed
The show started well, but after the daughter's story (after episode 6), everything went downhill. The plot became strange, confusing, and full of loose ends.It felt like a cheap 1980s action film. The creators removed the real action just to avoid an 18 rating. Because of this, the comedy felt forced and unscripted, like the directors tried to fix a mess in the editing room.
The pacing dragged heavily by episode 7, and it should have stopped there. Instead, corporate greed made it worse. They kept milking the show for money, cramming the last episode with terrible product advertisements.
This show proves how the Asian market is bending over for Hollywood just to be accepted globally. Netflix is ruining a perfect, established industry. The corrupt hunger for money and scammer culture means local creators are totally obedient to Western acceptance, selling out their own culture for profit.
It had a great plot and manhwa, but it was watered down just to please everyone and avoid a mature rating. A total disappointment.

Was Under The Radar, Turns Out Very Intense
What a surprise! This show was totally under the radar before. It was very intense, and they were able to keep the intensity throughout the whole show. This intensity sometimes made me forget that this show was aired free-to-air in local Korean TV, because the vibe and intensity totally matched OTT original productions.The overall storyline wasn't the strongest point. It seemed very cliche with the story of some North Korean defector being wanted by both countries. Instead, they were able to cover it up and took advantages on other points such as the outstanding intensity. Since the first episode, the intensity continued to increase. Not a single episode would let you down. The casts were all really good, especially So Ji Sub as a ruthless secret agent. Seo Su Min did and impressive job as Kim Min Ji. The chemistry between characters Kim, Han Su and Jin Cheol was also excellent. The action scenes was the highlight for me. Tthe insert of comedy scenes was refreshing, thanks to Choi Dae Hoon and Yoon Kyung Ho to make it happen.
For an action show, the first episode was painfully slow. As usual, there are a lot of makjangs in the storyline, even from the beginning. The writer somewhat began to be a little confident about it, and as the story progressing there was more and more makjangs. Min Ji was tortured and locked in the trunk for like more than three days, but she somehow woke up with pretty good strength and even managed to escape.
Rare occasion where a free-to-air show came up with such intensity. It's should be on your 2026 watchlist!

Action with heart and laughter
This was a fun action drama that kept me interested almost the entire time.
Ep 1: Interested.
Ep 2: Loving it.
Ep 3: Hooked.
Ep 4: Couldn't stop binge-watching.
Around Ep 5, I got a little frustrated. Instead of focusing on finding his daughter, he spends time chasing someone else, which didn't make much sense to me. The father-daughter reunion also felt like it was taking forever, and I almost wanted to fast-forward those parts.
From Ep 6-9, the drama picked up again and kept me invested.
Ep 10 wrapped things up nicely. I liked that the ending wasn't rushed—they actually showed what happened afterward instead of cutting straight to the credits. Seeing the dad happier and smiling more, and his daughter becoming more expressive, was really heartwarming. I also loved the friendship between the ajussis.
I would've liked to see a bit more of Ju Hak's daughter's downfall because she was incredibly arrogant, but there were bigger things happening in the story, so it wasn't a major issue.
Overall, it's a solid one-time watch, especially if you enjoy action dramas. The action scenes were well done, the emotional moments landed, and apart from the slight drag in the middle, I don't have many complaints.

Let's save Kim Minji!
The biggest strength of Agent Kim Reactivated is the present-day storyline. Every new step our characters take, in order to save Kim Minji, crackles with energy, the humor lands naturally, and the cast has enough charisma to make even the quieter moments entertaining. The leads are effortlessly badass without feeling invincible, and beneath all the action is a surprisingly warm, heartfelt story about loyalty and friendship.I understand why the writers wanted to flesh out everyone's past, but not every mystery needs an answer. Sometimes, what's left unsaid is far more interesting than a full explanation. A little restraint would've made these characters even more intriguing, and I often found myself wishing the drama would hurry back to the present timeline, where it's firing on all cylinders.
Still, that's a minor gripe in what has otherwise been a ridiculously entertaining watch. It's funny, emotional, fast-paced, and packed with characters worth rooting for. More importantly, it's one of those rare action-comedies that remembers the comedy shouldn't come at the expense of genuine emotional investment.
