Not a thriller but a live webtoon! - Proof that strong silent types only cause damages

WRITTEN AFTER COMPLETING:
==========================
I thought this drama will be about father-daughter relationship, but heck no. It is about Agent Kim and his friends beating ppl up. So this is like a more sophisticated adult version of Weak Hero Class 2. Just fights fights fights

The father-daughter relationship starts in the dumps, they never talk, she is hostile, she keeps important secrets, goes out alone at night, etc, causes MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR trouble and then her dad beats everyone up to save her. Sure he saves her and they hug for a minute AND THAT'S IT. There is no character devopment. even the daughter said nothing changed lmao
and his new job definitely got things worse

Sure they had a few sweet moments at the reunion but then.. their life was the same. Well maybe she wasnt all that hostile. But they still dont talk and it feels ... empty. And his new job will create a lot of lying

AND YEAH I WAS QUITE BORED WITH THIS DRAMA. A LIVE CARTOON IS FOR KIDS. I want to see more character development and stuff like that, stuff that real grown ups like to watch. Not some stupid fights.

And for me to be happy about the father -daughter relationship. I wanted to see them doing stuff together and talking, not him going to get this "new job"

But again someone said, the webtoon is about Kim continuing in his spy life, not about father-daughter relationship.

Kim is gonna be an agent forever - and that is the fun part, and who cares for his daughter - is the message of this drama.

AND YESH THAT IS NOT THE KIND OF DRAMA I WANTED TO WATCH it is too shallow and childishly stupid

and I watched or fast forwarded to the end out of curiosity about what ppl like about this MAINSTREAM bologney and I certainly got my answers!!!!

Tthe father-daughter ended up about the same.. Sure they are not hostile anymore but we did NOT see anything that qualifies them as a good family.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WRITTEN AFTER EP 1: while i still naively believed that this will be about father-daughter relationship :( Apparently, the webtoon is NOT about father-daughter relationship but about agent Kim working as a spy
==================
I like ep 1 as a start. I do not see this as a fighting drama, so if it goes that way, I will be disappointed. I see this as the generic issue of bad parenting. If the drama resolves that, i will consider it a masterpiece. Sure add some fighting as a side dish, but the main issue is PROPER PARENTING. Also it will be really fun to see Ji Sub act more than just John Wayne, Ji Sub is a cutie so it will be fun to see him as a proper father. In ep 1, he is a John Wayne strong and silent dinosaur and a parental failure.

This drama is essentially a story of bad parenting, the doting parent who NEVER talks with their kid and never takes the time to actually RAISE the kid. Kids need more than just food on the table...
There are many teenage kids in this drama, and they are all total clueless morons who lack any common sense and keep causing problem, unfortunately the entire drama is a product of bad parenting
NONE OF THESE KIDS HAVE ANY SKILLZ FOR LIFE = THE PARENTS ARE 100% INCOMPETENT

In Ep 1, this awesome special agent totally fails as a parent and as an agent, completely disregards his daughter and leaves her hanging all alone as usual, completely disregards common knowledge of bullying in schools, and perhaps he has already caused death of his child.

So forget special agent life and skills... when this special agent is a clueless moron for LIFE and incapable of talking to his own child.

SO THIS DRAMA SO FAR HAS A GREAT ROOT CONFLICT TO SOLVE, THE SAME CONFLICT THAT ALL PARENTS FACE AND ESP PARENTS WHO FAILED TO ESTABLISH A HEALTHY CONNECTION TO THEIR KID AND NEVER COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR CHILD DEEPLY AND PROPERLY

So the drama starts with a great generic and widespread issue of bad parenting and kids who grew up on their own and are thus clueless and behaving against the laws of survival and common sense

So... and at this point the drama can EITHER sink or swim

Imo the drama would sink if it becomes an empty shell and be "Weak Hero" quality with fights and special agents

Imo this kdrama can become a truly great drama where parent and child finally establish themselves as a loving caring family and a dedicated team that communicates well and works well in tandem with love care compassion and mutual understanding

AGENT KIM MUST RAISE HIS DAUGHTER PROPERLY

his daughter is behaving in ways contrary to the laws of surivival
The daughter is so clueless incapable of living
and that is all fault of her father. AGENT KIM HAS TO LEARN TO BE A PROPER PARENT WHO TALKS TO HIS KID AND PAYS CLOSE ATTENTION WHAT THE KID IS DOING OR NOT DOING.

IE AGENT KIM HAS TO GUIDE HIS DAUGHTER

"Quanti criminali dobbiamo pestare?"
"Tutti."

Buon divertimento.

10/10 The PT Universe comes to life! So Ji-sub IS CQC personified!

As an absolute fanatic of the original Manager Kim webtoon and the entire PJ Universe, I was terrified of how they would adapt this into live-action. But after seeing the premiere, all my fears are completely gone.
First off, the casting is perfection. So Ji-sub completely embodies the weary, slouching "salaryman" look, but when his Close Quarters Combat (CQC) instincts kick in, he turns into an absolute demon. The fight scenes are insanely faithful to the panel art-they actually captured the technical, brutal weight of his moves without masking it behind messy editing.
Seeing Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-cheol (Yoon Kyung-ho) on screen together with Kim gave me literal chills. The legendary trio of badass dads is finally here, and their dynamic is just as chaotic and epic as it is in the manhwa. If you've been waiting for a faithful, high-budget webtoon adaptation that doesn't tone down the violence or the hype, this is the holy grail. Long live the PTJ Universe!

A Dad Will Do Anything for His Kids

“Hard to believe, but my dad is just an ordinary old guy. Well… as long as you don’t mess with me.”

I never expected a spy drama with this much ass-kicking to become my comfort show over the past two months, but i LOVED watching Agent Kim. A story about seemingly ordinary dads who are willing to take on the whole world to protect what matters most: their families.

The drama delivers some of the best action scenes I’ve ever seen in a Korean production, along with an insanely talented cast. Even though it couldn’t maintain the ridiculously high quality of its first few episodes and dragged a little at times, it still managed to keep me hooked until the end.

I just wish Minji’s rescue hadn’t taken up so much of the story. I would’ve loved to see Agent Kim, Han-Su, and Park Jin-Cheol going on other missions and adventures.

And, of course, i HAVE to talk about So Ji-sub, who gave an absolutely INSANE performance. Kim is already my favorite protagonist of the year, and I just need to see him walk up on that stage and take home his DAESANG AWARD 🎉🏆

With how insanely successful this drama has been, i really hope SBS doesn’t waste the opportunity. BRING ON SEASON 2!!!!!!!! 😭

Sangat bagus

Baru eps 1-2 tapi jantungku udah copot 5x. Terus chemistrynya....aaaaa bikin ketar ketir. Yang bikin naik darah cliffhanger eps 2 nya. GA SABAR NUNGGU EPS 3-4
Buat yang suka spy-thriller + karakter cewek badass, WAJIB NONTON. Nyesel kalau skip
