Best Viki drama so far!

I truly enjoyed this! I like that we're getting more drama's where the female lead is allowed to be complex, reserved and more "grumpy" than sunshine.

I liked how Han Ji Min played Ji-yun as a complex woman with a backstory that made her less likely to be open and warm with new people. I loved how she bonded with Byeol and how the story established they had similarities personality wise. I loved her determination and how she made candidates appreciate their talents and experience and that she genuinely cared that they were being properly appreciated in terms of employment. She had principles and that made her one of the better female characters I've seen.

I loved Eun-ho! There were so many green flags for him. He was handsome, kind, supportive, talented at literally everything, and he was so attentive. I loved seeing him with Byeol and how dedicated he was to her. I worried that there would be a point that his attentiveness to Ji-yun's needs came across as overbearing, but it never did in my opinion.

I loved the chemistry between Eun-ho and Ji-yun and I kind of hope we see them in another romance drama in the future. This drama was well paced and, despite the confession coming earlier than I expected, we got a more time of them as a couple than I expected. Much appreciated! When the reveal came about Eun-ho's tie to Ji-yun's dad, I was surprised by how invested I was in the fallout.

I liked the candidate stories, while I think the authentification plot was a little too long. I enjoyed the cast of characters, especially Mi Ae. The 2FL and 2ML (I guess?) didn't get a ton of time. I loved the illustator's scene where she talks to her adoptive son about his parents. I thought that was really well done.

As for the antagonist - while I was annoyed at her vendetta against Ji-yun, I think her performance was well done. The show balanced the other plots well so that, while it was as frustrating as it was meant to be, I don't think it took over the majority of the show.

Definitely a recommend from me and I loved this couple! I hope we get even more grumpy/sunshine-like stories where the grumpy character is the female lead.

Good enough but could have been a lot better.

An easy binge with a sweet story, but a bit to much cringe and predictability, and unnecessary choices to make it all the way to the top. That and the slightly to oblivious side characters that had lovely friendship vibes but also had me wondering if it ok to be that stupid and still hold up a job. The job-Hunt stories in this seemed to want to teach the viewers a lesson about the importance of seeing the person as well as right -person, right job which is not a bad message but it felt relative, slightly boring and shifted focus from the main story.

Han Ji Min is an amazing actress (yes,I am bias, so feel free to deduct a star if you don't share this bias) who shows yet again that she can both be warm, cold, smart and stupid and everything in between within the same character. No matter who she acts with they will make fire works happen young an d old. there is this aura around her making her that just fits in.

While she has decent chemistry with the sides and male lead her chemstry with the kid topped it all. Their interactions where just lovely.

Our male lead was a lot of fun when he was a cold lightly offish character but once he turend soft and submissive he became just a little bit too sweet as well as had this slow slightly preachy way of talking that kind of put me off... That said kisses where good and so where the hugs. Also, the guy spent a lot of kate evenings away from his kid... making me wonder if he really had the work-love-paranthood in check or if he was more of an intervall father.

Some of the twist where rushed others draggy, not a single twist surprised me though...

A decent watch, that could have been better

Adults…adulting

Normally, I can’t say if this would have been a fave based off of trailers but I was wrong. There are no over exaggerating scenes. There is nothing that seems to be so far removed that one can’t possibly relate to it. A simple office or workplace romance and nosy supportive coworkers/ employees.

Besides the bad guy getting her karma, it’s nothing that’s cliche about it, other than that. Oh, and the Fl’s past is another cliche that I will add, but it doesn’t take away from the story’s overall significance and ability to be worthwhile to you, the viewer.

Good watch.

Great build up to a beautiful love story.

Good Enough

Korean Drama '' Love Scout '' is a slow burn love story with chill vibes.

The drama is indeed a slow burn, from the atmosphere, which was perfect for the story, to the romance, which was well paced and the couple shared enough sweet and romantic moments as well as chemistry. The office drama was interesting as well, though the small 'cases' that the company was 'hunting' that were the most entertaining and touching.

Also the family dynamics were sweet and blended nicely with the main story.

However, there were things that the drama didn't manage that well, like the love triangle, the 'evil' business competitor, and the background story-trauma.

The performances, finally, were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Mature love

FL and ML are adults, mature and responsible people and so they know what is important and they make it happen.
They communicate, they do not hold back, hide. deny, pretend or play games.

This kdrama is very educational, you get to see how grownups live.

And I think this is for more mature audience. There is no drama in his kdrama :) The drama is about two people who do not waste time. When they are confused, they sit down and think about it and then take action to clarify it with the other and to move on in a positive way. NO DRAMA HERE.

so you get to see the plot that is not soapy nor boring but is about solving daily life for real. Extremely useful.

HEARTWARMING TAKE ON A MATURE RELATIONSHIP

The most heartwarming, well-developed and healthy relationship I've seen in a drama, complemented by an outstanding supporting cast, cinematography, and original soundtrack. Not one moment or scene dragged or was boring. It was interesting to get a real insight into the headhunting business through the stories of the different candidates and employees. But most of all it was beautiful to see how supportive the office environment was at Peoplez, and how they were all there for each other through thick and thin.

Han Ji Min was commendable, really bringing emotions and depth to her role as the CEO. Kang Ji Hyun was so confident and admirable in how resolute and dedicated she was to her work. Yu Eun Ho is a complete green forest, so well-mannered, and patient and the bestest father to little Byul. Lee Jun Hyuk was made to be the male lead, he was so charming. Give this man more romantic roles, he's brilliant. The supporting cast is always what makes or breaks a drama for me, and once again it was perfection here. All the cast, crew, writers and director did an amazing job with LOVE SCOUT, which is now 100% part of my all-time comfort watches.

Special shoutout to the OST, my number one love when it comes to kdramas, and yet again it was the most comforting soundtrack ever, just like the rest of the drama.

Please watch this without any doubts, it was one of the best dramas to start the year off for me.

A fresh take on Boss-secretary dynamics

Love scout is like a fresh take on Boss-secretary love story. Since what's wrong with secretary Kim there has been a number of dramas on the same line, It's the usual storyline rich boss falling in love with ultra poor employee lots of hardship a kiss and happily ever after blehhhh... the same formula in different bottles.
Love scout is different a strong career oriented female lead and an equally strong male lead falling in love and becoming each others support. This drama does not lag and the story runs at a good pace and as the story revolves around a scouting company each episode offers a new story of people in different field. There is no complicated misunderstanding [the couples solve their issue within 1 episode and I like it ;) ], no cliched love triangle, no unrealistic world problems. Love scout is a plain beautifully written realistic romantic drama.
The cast did their part beautifully ( though at times I found the male lead to be a little stiff), the cinematography is chefs kiss.
Love scout is a good drama to start 2025 do give it a watch

Best kdrama so far for 2025

I really enjoyed it. The OST is so good. The ML and FL had great chemistry. The acting was believable and moving. Supporting cast was really good too. The child actors are my favorite from any series. The series moved along without any unnecessary filler. There is a need for season 2! I really hope the writers and producers really consider a second season. It could be 10 or 12 episodes.

A Tender Revolution

So far, so enjoying this drama. Why? Because it's filled with tender heart fluttery moments and at the same time, there is quiet social commentary happening.

First of all, we have a solo Dad, who is warm, nurturing and caring. From the get go, this is unusual in a K-drama. We are far more used to the stereotype of the commandeering and commanding male. If you look at the history of the country - war, poverty, people dying of starvation in living memory and mandatory conscription, you can see why patriarchal values have held sway. However, in this drama, we have a different kind of male role model: someone who is supportive, nurturing, emotionally well-balanced, and someone who values relationships over power grabs. It's really nice to see the valuing of these so called "soft skills," and a refreshing change from how male roles are generally scripted.

Korea is in a handful of countries with the lowest birth rates in the world, and the sheer hardship of raising children is one of the contributing factors. By showing a man who has to do this, even when this is presented with the lightest of touches, then prevailing attitudes that make is difficult for families to survive and thrive can be highlighted. For example, we notice how often our ML has to leave his daughter in the care of others and how absent he is by working late. We can also see how the discrimination against him for taking leave to care for his daughter cost him his career path. All these issues women face constantly, but by casting a male in this predicament, it draws attention where it otherwise might be more easily ignored, or even accepted as a natural consequence for choosing to have children.

At the same time, none of this social commentary is heavy handed. By following the traditional romantic script, we can feel easy about watching the obvious unfairness. However, it still manages to sew a seed that change in workplace attitudes to be more family friendly needs to happen.

So we have a welcome variation on the trope of hard nosed business boss and the warm-hearted secretary whose invaluable support enables it all to happen. We also have a nice variation on a theme - we have a couple embarking on a relationship in their middle years showing that love knows no age limit. With middle years comes baggage - in this case a child from a previous relationship - here it is shown that this need not be a barrier to love if the people involved are sincere.

I'm not expecting any great challenges in this drama - the romance and sub-romances are being clearly signaled, the OST's are either sentimental or fun so I feel safe that my happy ending is waiting. There are some lovely tender moments between the leads which melt my heart.

My one hesitation about this drama is that at times it feels overly sweet. The male lead feels a little too perfect, the plot a little too cute, the baddy a little too predictable.

Overall, hats off to the writer to giving us romantics the feel good factor that we want, but at the same time signing us up for a quiet revolution.

A Feel Good Story With A Great Cast

I just loved this Kdrama! I'm trying to think if there were any moments that I thought it lagged, or if something was not realistic, or if the adults in the story were made to act too juvenile, and I really can't think of any. The two main leads carried the story and really did such a good job. They were both career adults who carried responsibilities on their shoulders that they took very seriously which shaped their personalities. Finding each other, and working together softened and balanced each other out. The storyline was not overly romantic, and definitely did not have the weird juvenile, awkward moments that some dramas have, but allowed these two adults to develop feelings for each other and play this out in an adult fashion. Although there was one awkward scene where the ML was sleeping but erect like a statue which was unrealistic, but it passed quickly and I forgot about it as the storyline progressed. The secondary couple was cute (I was cheering them on), I loved the office staff, the two main children were adorable, the secondary characters were sublime (I really want a bookstore like that to hang out in), and everyone needs an Omoni like Lee Jeong Sun. The OST was wonderful. I will be downloading many of these songs. This is the type of drama that I will come back to again and again because it leaves the viewer with such a wonderful feeling. Well done to all who were part of this production!!

PS--I have to be honest that a little of the draw for me were the filming locations. I visited Seoul last year and stayed in the Insadong area. Several parts of this drama were filmed in and around Insadong. I dunno---it just made me connect to this drama more so than I have with other dramas. Loved it.....just loved it!!!

Fun and Mature!

I really enjoyed this! A mature, feel-good type of drama with some fun scenes. Super wholesome too, I really loved seeing the female lead with the male lead’s child… Their friendship was super cute and heartwarming. The chemistry between the leads was also so good, they had great tension in the beginning and developed great chemistry throughout the show. Only thing, I didn’t care for the business drama towards the end of the series… So, I skipped it lol. We need more cute and mature romances like this, this was so fun🥰🌹

Worth to watch!

First, i didn't expect this series to be this good. The story is for more mature audience, and maybe too slow pace and boring for more young viewers. But the action and their problem solving was written so good. Their action, motivation so relatable and not overwhelmed to watch.

But as many kdrama, there always dramatic and cringe moment here and there. But over all, this drama is worth to watch and binge in your week end. Enjoy :)
