A must watch for all drama lovers

I enjoyed the entire show! What brilliant acting and beautiful cinematography! I was captivated from the beginning to end. The ML and FL were very compatible and showed realistic love and affection towards one another. It is truly a gem to watch. I was completely taken in by the incredible and intricate story line, I hope to see more shows like this

⭐ A breathtaking, emotional drama that reminds us how love can both heal and transform.

Okay but Love in the Clouds really had no business being this good 😭🔥
I went in thinking it’d be another “typical xianxia,” and now look at me , emotionally attached, rewatching edits, and smiling like an idiot.

The chemistry between the leads?? INSANE. Like, excuse me, who gave them the right to look at each other like that 😩 The tension, the soft moments, the heartbreak , it’s all so good I actually forgot to breathe half the time.

Both leads ATE their roles. The acting had me crying one minute and blushing the next. Kudos to Huo Ming Hao, Lu Yu Xiao and all the other cast , they did an amazing job portraying their characters.❤️

And don’t even get me started on the visuals, the lighting, the colors, the vibes?? Perfection. And that OST🔥

By the end, I was just sitting there like, “Wow, so this is what emotional destruction wrapped in beautiful cinematography looks like.”

⭐ Rating: 10/10

Attention grabbing drama

I don’t normally go for fantasy wuxia dramas, but this one grabbed my attention and didn’t let me go. (From start to finish binged in 3 days.)

A lot of cute moments between the main leads especially in the beginning which was refreshing. So much to giggle about. The chemistry between the main leads was really good. And the acting felt real. Didn’t take me out of the drama.

The visuals were amazing. The special effects looked very good compared to other similar storyline dramas. Not to mention the costumes. Those were really pleasing to look at with the makeup and hairstyles.

The storyline was strong. A lot to enjoy, but unfortunately i thought the last episode was lacklustre compared to the beginning of the drama.

In conclusion, a very good drama to watch. Plenty of comedic moments. A lot of romance. With some tearful moments. Would recommend.

NOT CLICHE BUT!

finally i finished litc and this drama ABSOLUTELY one of the best drama in this year (so many good dramas airing this Q3 im gonna cry), the acting the chemistry on top, i wont comment about that. But i'll comment the production, huft ik that there are some troubles about the production like from changing the director at the time of filming (cmiiw?) then it affects on the story and what i found some edits not clear enough. From the start the story is solid, but then at the end of the episodes there are some clues that suddenly it comes? (i guess that's the effects of episodes that shorten from 40 to 36). SOOO this drama would be more more perfect if its not rushed, it's fine to take a time for a while and airing next year (i'll wait). And yeah, i read the novel and it's kinda feel diffirent about the world building some fights that don't come up in the drama. But for me, THAT'S OKAY cause w this drama we come to the new plots of xianxia drama

One of the Best C-Drama of 2025 !

Acting was on pint. Chemistry was beautiful. Laughed, cried, and loved with these characters. LuYuXiao is my favorite female actress as of now. Hou Minghao is such a great actor, really a perfectionist at heart. This is a drama ill definitely be rewatching over and over again. Behind the scenes videos are just as great as the drama itself. The bind this cast shows is so wholesome and fun. Would love a variety show with this cast.

入青云 Love in The Clouds! Definetly Recommended

I loved every second of the series. Each character was amazing in their own way. It was my first time watching the female lead, and I really liked both her and her acting. But my favorite was the 27 二七 可爱的猫. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this show I definitely recommend it! 〈3

For the Romantics Who Don’t Mind Getting Lost in the Mist

💫 Pure eyecandy for romantics and dreamers — one of those dramas you rate with your heart, not your brain.

If you’re here for logic-tight plotting or fast-paced action, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you’re in the mood for a soft, colorfully shot fantasy romance that makes your inner romantic sigh, this one’s worth the watch.

The charm
Hou Minghao and Lu Yuxiao have real chemistry. Ji Bozai and Ming Yi’s connection feels quietly magnetic: it’s in the way they look at each other, the small smiles, the unspoken understanding. Their relationship grows slowly but with genuine emotional weight, and when the story lets them breathe, it’s easy to get swept up.

The visuals are stunning: a world wrapped in mist, poetic shots, and flowing robes that make you pause just to take it in. You can tell a lot of care went into the atmosphere. It’s soft fantasy at its most visually romantic.

The not-so-perfect bits
The deception and misunderstandings… oh boy. They drag way too long. You just want to shake them and say, “Talk openly, please.” It drags way more than necessary, and the payoff comes late enough that some emotional tension feels stretched thin.
Also, Ji Bozai (Hou Minghao) deserved more screen time; sometimes the side characters’ subplots took over, and while a few were fun, it did make the pacing uneven.

What makes it still worth it
Despite the flaws, Love in the Clouds has heart. It’s not a groundbreaking story, but the romance hits in a lovely, wistful, and emotionally satisfying way. The gentle yearning, and two leads whose chemistry makes you forget about logic for a bit (if you can see past the mist of deception).

Final thoughts
If you’re strict about clichés, this story might test your patience. There are plenty of witholding the truth long-stretched moments that can keep you from fully enjoying it. I actually put the drama on hold twice because of that, and while I eventually finished it, it left a bit of a bitter aftertaste.
Still, I have to admit, I was in the mood for this kind of soft, romantic fantasy, and the leads’ chemistry pulled me back in. The acting is solid all around (both leads and supporting cast), and the romance scenes are beautifully executed, even if the story’s emotional logic doesn’t always hold up.

I’d call it a 7.5/10 —close to an 8 for the romance, visuals and chemistry alone — but the lack of a single truly honest conversation until far in prevented me from fully falling in love with it.

Do the ends justify the means?

I like this show. It’s a good Netflix show that has 36 episodes and approximately 45 minutes each. Ming Yi (ming xian) is the FL who loses the Qingyun tournament to the ML Ji Bozai after a seven year win streak. She was always been disguised as the crown Prince and because of our loss,This causes her to be abandoned by her people and she then wants to seek revenge against the ML because she believes he poisoned her.. she turns up in his realm as her original female self and it turns out he didn’t poison her, but it was her scheming brother who wanted the crown Prince title for himself. They eventually work together and become a really good team and I really enjoyed the chemistry between them even though the female lead was a bit infuriating at times and it doesn’t annoy me how the heroes are so passive when it comes to dealing with the villains and with their emotions and feelings. It took me quite a long time to get through this because I wasn’t compelled to binge watch one episode after another so I ended up watching a few going to another drama and then coming back.. the one thing that really did bother me was the MLS master Bo Yulan who incidentally was the FL’s Auntie. The main problem I have is no matter how righteous , kind and decent she was she ultimately nearly killed a baby. She then abandoned this baby into the pits of hell (our ML) and then took him as her apprentice to help him. They reconciled all this quite neatly but ultimately the story framed her as one of the good guys when actually she was the scummiest of scumbags going because of that act of horrendous abuse and neglect. The reason I mentioned this is because the writers clearly wanted us to sympathise with her and always played soft sad music to show the struggle that she’s been through but I’m sorry I find her behaviour absolutely disgusting so the ends do not justify the means at all. The way the story framed it was poor in my opinion and shows a lack of basic human decency to paint her as being so virtuous yet flawed.

REVIEW??? MORE LIKE MY FEELINGS!!!

I’ve been waiting for this drama ever since I first saw Lu Yu xiao’s stills from the filming site. Honestly, I’ve never crazily anticipated a drama like this before, not even "Lovely Runner" (which is still my #1 favorite). But this one definitely made it to my top list, even surpassing, "Burning Flames", and now holds the first spot among my favorite CDramas!

After waiting so long, when it finally started airing, the first few episodes felt good but nothing too extraordinary. But as the story progressed, especially from episodes 9 and 10, I completely fell in love with it. From then on, the first thing I did after returning to the hostel from classes was watch the new episode 😂 and then dive into MDL and Twitter comments and theories 😭. I truly enjoyed the whole, Love in the Clouds era!

I could only make a few edits because of my busy schedule ( I have a drama fanpage in Instagram : id : kworld_haengbog) . I really wish this drama had aired when I was free, I would’ve made sooo many edits and enjoyed it even more. Anyway, I swear I’ll rewatch it and make plenty of edits once I get some free time (hopefully soon)!

And as for my beloved MingZai ❤️‍🩹 (Hou Minghao and Lu Yu xiao), what a magical pair! If I exaggerate a little, I’d say they had the best chemistry of the century 😁. It might sound over the top to some, but that’s how it feels to me.

I’d absolutely love it if you all watched this drama too.

For me, it’s a MASTERPIECE! ❤️❤️❤️

Crazy in Love

I started watching this on Netflix when it only had a few episodes. Big mistake. I should have waited! The waiting game for new episodes was really hard. I’m a fan of the FL since watching her in My Journey to You drama when she was paired with my fave Cheng Lei. I had never paid attention to Hou Ming Hao before. I did watch him in the Lost Tomb but his acting there didn’t really caught my attention. Now, after watching this drama, I can say I’m officially a fan. He was so good here. Everyone was right when they said that he was way better here than his Back from the Brink drama where his acting was a little wooden. The FL Ming Yi was really cute and I love how she slowly fell for Ji Bozai. At first, I didn’t like how she was using Ji Bozai to get to the Golden Millet Dream, but then again Ji Bozai was the same who was also using her. But I’m glad they didn’t hurt each other. I hate toxic couples in other dramas who hurt each other. It makes my heart ache when they do that. Anyway, they formed a bond along the way. I love the fake relationship they had and it slowly blossomed. I love it when they save each other and are completely in sync and just know what to do in certain moments. And the kisses while they were at the pool? *chef’s kiss* So hot. I was like OMG, my heart, be still. There was also another scene at the beginning of episode 23 where he said, “Say my name” while making out by the bedroom door. I melted into a puddle of goo. I just love them together. That scene where they walked the magpie bridge to carve their names on the marriage stone to prove their identities and their love. From there, they now share a heart imprint. The way Ji Bozai took all the lightning hits and he was so persistent when he kept carving Ming Yi’s name. The dedication he had at that moment even though he knew deep down her name wasn’t really Ming Yi. So many hot moments. Episode 25 was my most favorite scene because I was smiling and giggling like crazy. He suspects that she is the real Ming Xian. She pointed the sword artifact she forged and pointed it at his throat. He pulled her towards him and kissed her. After that he asked her if Ming Xian was still in the way. He’s jealous of the person who’s actually in front of him. But of course he doesn’t know that. Never a dull moment in this drama. I would go on and on about how I love this drama so much but it’s not enough space, to be honest. I enjoyed and loved the whole drama. The setting, the CGI, the costumes, the acting skills, and the music were all so well done. Great job to the whole crew! Thank you for giving us a perfect happy ending. I highly recommend this drama and has a special place in my heart. This is my number one on my top list of Chinese fantasy dramas.

First time writing such an honest review in my life just for the best xianxia drama ever for me.

First of all, this is my first time ever in my writing a review for tv series. English is not my first language so I will try my best to get it to the point.

First for the story part, many people saying FL unnecessarily keeps a secret to ML and people complaining why she didn’t just ask him to give her the antidote. I just wanna say you guys don’t understand Mingyi’s character completely. She was raised in an environment where she was forced to be a useful person to someone and getting no care or love from her parents or family or anyone. So when it comes to the time, when she need to tell ML to give her the antidote, she was confused if it was the real love. And even if ML really love her, it’s really hard to tell him straight to give her an antidote. It’s also explained by FL in the series too, ML’s master made him take an oath not to let the antidote appear in the world nor to give anyone. Mingyi didn’t want him to break that just because she’s his beloved person. That’s what the character Mingyi is. (Also this might be unnecessary but Mingyi said that Mingxian has pride that he don’t want his fated enemy to see the weak point at all.) Mingyi is willing to give her life just for ML to not feel uncomfortable choosing between his master and her. But even then, if she really need the antidote, if she really have to stay alive, the bad person must be herself, not the ML who have to break an oath to protect the antidote like his master claimed. (I really really really like this character setting. It just make FL seems more internally strong.)
Also, there was a part when ML told FL about his master and an oath, and also told her that she’s not like any other people who are only here just for the antidote. And then Mingyi said what if she’s same with other people, and ML answered he believed in her. You say, how should Mingyi react to his words? Cuz he said right through her. (Idk if i was in Mingyi’s shoes, I dont think I can tell him the truth either cuz it just feel so helpless when someone you really love or care about believe in you that much and you have to betrayed his love and belief just to make sure you can stay alive) It’s just that much helpless/hopeless for Mingyi to choose between him and her life. (Poor Mingyi T_T) Even when she saw ML destroyed the antidote in front of her, and her master complaining about she said that “ that’s his belonging after all, there is no way they can complain about just because he doesn’t want to give her. (Such a positive-minded and broad-minded girl I’m not crying ahhhh 😭😭😭)

I also see the same few people talk bad about FL and pity ML when ML chose to keep quiet about his injury and wanted to break up with FL. This is the same situation as early part Mingyi but the difference is now that they understand each other and all misunderstandings were clear also the most important thing is that FL didn’t have any oath or anything to obey, unlike ML’s situation.
Of course, I don’t want to see both of them getting hurt and pity both of them but I mean, this is the unnecessary thing most people talking about FL. And just for you to know, when FL is being poisoned, the leaf petal on her hands are being used mostly to save other or even ML, NOT ONE OF THE PETALS ARE USED FOR HERSELF. This is where FL needs to be recognized by some people saying she’s not a good FL.
(I just write down what appears in my brain, there’s might be some details that you or me left unnoticed about Mingyi’s character. I will try to find few more and add them later tho)

Also, I started watching this series only because I’ve seen Lu Yu Xiao’s Shangguan qian acting. At the first few episodes, yes, the pace is slow and few screens make me cringe little bit but I kept watching it despite seeing many people complaining and dropping the series. (And i made the right choice for sure, it didn’t disappoint me at all, I enjoyed the whole series and I even bought two svip account on youku app just to support the series and casts)
Now comes the part where I wanna talk about. Many people say that FL’s acting and voice lines are bad. But that’s not the case for me. I really like her acting and especially her original voice lines. For acting, there’re so many little expressions which normal people can barely handle. Cute scene looks so natural to me and I don’t feel any cringe feeling about it.

And then for the original voice lines. Idk why many people say it’s so uncomfortable or unpleasant or unprofessional. For me, her voices are so realistic, like when she cries, there’s like heavy breathing and few shuttering voices in it. It feels like she’s actually feeling sad and cry out of her chest. Who can hear words clearly when you cry out loud? I don’t understand people saying can’t hear her words clearly. There are so many feelings delivered out of her voices. I REALLY REALLY LIKE THAT!!!
Anyway, I really enjoyed this drama and it easily topped my xianxia drama list.
Hope everyone who read till now also enjoy the show too. Thanks for reading such a long review!
