A documentary introducing all 14 parts of the large-scale work "Illustrations of the Battle of Okinawa'' created in the 1980s by painters Iri and Toshi Maruki. Throughout their lives, they paint pictures of war, including the 15-part "Diagrams of the Atomic Bomb'' in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, "Nanjing Massacre'', and "Auschwitz''. In their final years, they began working on the subject of Okinawa, visiting the area for six years to listen to testimonies from those who had experienced it and completing the series.
