A documentary focusing on a radio station that came into being around two months after the Great East Japan Earthquake. It records the daily lives of people living in the disaster-hit areas, and their gradual steps toward recovery. FM Minasan was launched on May 17th 2011 in Miyagi Prefecture's Minamisanriku Town, which was severely damaged by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11th. A makeshift broadcasting booth was built at the rear of a gymnasium where many local residents live as evacuees. The station's staff, nine men and women with no previous radio broadcasting experience, work diligently to lift the spirits of people in the devastated town.
