"We are fire"
I don't really write reviews, tho I love reading them (still taking reviews with a grain of salt).But I do love Fan Zhi Xin. I hope he'd get the projects and fame he so deserve!
- His acting is always, always on point and I can't believe he's so young
- Credits to the casting director, because cast delivered great
- I know episodes seemed very slow paced (and I don't really dig it), so I set it to 1.5x speed
- the KISS! some might find it slow burn, but that's what made it exquisite! too bad there's not a lot :(
(edit: there's a lot of weight and meaning when they kissed on Ep25... swoon-worthy! I won't spoil more, but...)
- the theme and it's ending were spot on for me
finally, on FZX: I love how his roles are (almost) always portraying a devoted (if not lovesick) guy with a "I will kill and die for you" vibe. I know it might be a red flag, but he's just fire. He's so sick (literally) on "Dear Liar" but I just couldn't help but see where he's coming from (this is bad, I know... but it's FZX, so I guess it's kind of ok?!?).
As for links and how to watch some of these, I normally google it like "(drama name) eng sub ep(episode number). At times, they may be available in Bilibili, but Dailymotion is a good link, too, if it's not available via Kiss.

Visually beautiful production and charismatic ML but terrible editing, pacing, and sound editing.
This drama is very aesthetically appealing. Settings, lighting, camera direction and acting all came together to create a gorgeousness that feels immersive, dark-sexy and intriguing. The production values are somewhat higher end for a short length. I love this ML, ive seen him in other things and hes great.Romance was more tame than I expected, and it was sort of presented as a side-dish to an overly complicated plot about drugs, power, secrets, and scheming.
The real problem was completely bad editing and pacing. It slows down way too slow, then speeds up way too fast with flashback scenes presented in disjointed ways and lots of skipping around from one thing to another.
The writing and directing werent the best either, there was an awul lot of cringe moments flying around here and there.
The bgm/ost were so "off" to me... nothing struck a note that matched the tone of the scene. It was all this accoustic femmy music with a dynamic range imbalance problem, that just killed any sexy and drove me to hit mute. Very loud in comparison to the drama, and distracting/detracting. Some people really like the songs. I dont.. this is not my kind of music. But aside from that, the music didnt match the tone of the show at all. You have a very dark aesthetic, lots of use of black and dimly lit interiors, and rainy nights, the ML has a very dark, smoldering quality to his looks, hes supposed to be a badass, protecting his ballerina girl from blood, bullets, drugs, and crime bosses. That just doesnt call for sentimental accoustic female ballad songs. It calls for something that sounds dark and smoky. The juxtaposition of music to show was imo jarring and detracted from the overall tone they were trying to create.
Supporting casts acting was neither great nor terrible. But since this romance was very short on actual romance, and my focus was challenged by the drama and not gripped by it, i give it a 6. Imo a wast of time, not totally worth the watch.

Finito anche questo mini c drama, che ho iniziato per il bellissimo e sexy Fan Zhi Xin.. che anche qui si guarda per lui, perché nei ruoli da sexy e dannato e' pura sensualità...e qui non si smentisce ..passa da super cattivo a tenerone innamorato che e' qualcosa di stupendo... Nelle scene poi action a me fa impazzire !La storia appena iniziata ho fatto fatica a capirla come spesso accade nei mini c drama, però poi segue un percorso ben definito e tutti i ruoli sono ben chiari.
La storia verte sulla droga e qui abbiamo Ye ran che lavora sotto copertura per sventare i mostri della droga che hanno rovinato il paese, e Cheng Chen che cerca invece chi ha ucciso i suoi genitori.
Ye ren prenderà il posto del fratello gemello che era di tutto meno che un brav'uomo, questo per potersi infiltrare meglio in queste organizzazioni criminali in cui era invischiato, sposerà Cheng che che ha bisogno di trovare le prove che il gemello nascondeva sui suoi genitori ... E come sempre scatterà la scintilla ...
Coppia bellissima insieme e l episodio 25 e' bellissimo e che bacio ...con una linguetta che vuole uscire ?
Bella la seconda coppia con la zia ...simpatici e divertenti ... Mini c drama proprio carino gli ultimi due episodi poi vanno a scemare tutta la tensione in pura comicità! Ed è per questo che non do un 8 ma un 7.5 scende di brio rendendolo banale.
Nel complesso però si vede che è un piacere ? se volete staccare da drama un po' pesantucci questo merita.

Beautifully shot revenge drama with noir concept & good acting
I liked Fan Zhi Xin's acting in My Lethal Man so I was curious about this series. The trailer caught my attention so I watched this series last weekend. Yang Yu Xi kinda resembles Miyeon of G-idle.What I liked:
1) Acting - Wow, it's quite rare to see good performances by both male and female leads. Fan Zhi Xin and Yang Yu Xi played their roles really well because I could see different facial expressions on their faces. I like Guo Jia Yu's acting too.
2) Writing - Good acting wouldn't happen if the screenplay is bad. So well done to the writer for keeping audience on their toes about what's going to happen next. I also liked that FL shared her revenge plans with ML in the middle of their partnership because often times most revenge-themed dramas have Lead Character keeping it as a secret till almost the end.
3) Romance - There is a lot of sexual tension between two couples, i) Xiang Ye Ran & Cheng Che, and ii) Xiang Ruo Lan & Yu Jia Hao. I sensed the emotional pull and genuine affection between them whenever they appeared on screen. I wish there were more kissing between Ye Ran and Cheng Che.
4) Supporting characters - I like that supporting characters have depth to them: Xiao Xiao, Ruo Lan, Jia Hao, Mr Thirteen.
5) Ending - I hope there is season 2.
What I disliked:
1) Pacing - Some scenes in 3rd part of the series were draggy that I didn't pay much attention to the dialogue.
2) Error - Some characters were hospitalised in the final episode. I was bothered by Xiao Xiao's arm injury because her long sleeve was also part of the injury dressing.
Favourite scene
The dance scenes at New Fairy Club. Great performances by Fan Zhi Xin, Yang Yu Xi and Guo Jia Yu.

The most cheesy ending ever
the story and the ml acting are really good but so many cheesy scenes particularly the ending. It all started very well but gradually lacked the plot and execution of believable scenes; Like how fast is their recovery from bullets and severe fights vs their enemies. The last episode wasn’t needed at all. The noble reaction for Shi San Shaw after knowing she will get married to yu jia and being shot that much and staying alive and well ?Was this review helpful to you?
Tencent requires additional payment to watch after episodes 10 of the drama.
What I've watched so far has been interesting enough to keep watching to see what happens at the end. I like the main leads, they play their roles well. The wardrobes do not change much and is ok for this era. I like the intrigue and suspense of the story. I'll have to wait until the rest of the drama is available for viewing without cost. I disagree that as a subscriber to Tencent additional cost is required to see the rest of the drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Actors and actresses are fantastic acting.
The drama songs are sad and romantic.
Fanzhixin sing the song 月 this song is fabulous. I love this song. I like the fighting scene, caring scene and kissing scene.
Those scenes are fantastic and fabulous. I don't have any words to say. ????????❤️❤️❤️❤️???
