The Kind of Drama You Wish You Could Watch Again for the First Time

Neo Hou’s performance stands out, especially in his non-human role, where he perfectly captures emotional restraint, loyalty, and quiet suffering. The relationships in the drama particularly the complex romantic dynamics are layered and engaging, adding warmth, pain, and subtle humor to the overall narrative.

The female lead as Xiao Yao is another major highlight. Her character is adorable, lively, and emotionally grounded, bringing balance to the darker themes of the drama. The actress’s casting feels perfect, and her natural, expressive acting makes Xiao Yao instantly lovable and believable. Together, the strong performances, thoughtful storytelling, and refined visual atmosphere make The Unclouded Soul a drama that lingers long after it ends.

What makes the drama even more exciting is how the plot keeps getting better as the story progresses. The pacing never feels flat; instead, the conflicts grow more intense and emotionally layered. And the love quadrangle surrounding Xiao Yao? Absolutely one of the most entertaining and heart-tugging parts of the show. It’s messy, painful, funny, and charming all at once. Watching these characters love her in completely different ways is both adorable and heartbreaking.

Honestly, this drama is so good that if I ever lost my memory, I’d want to watch it all over again from the beginning. It’s unforgettable, emotionally rich, and incredibly rewatchable.

3 Lifetimes of Everlasting Love

"Everything has started anew"
"Everything is just a beginning"

Even after 3 Lifetimes of being together I still can't have enough of Xiao Yao and Hong Ye
Throughout these 10000 years they laughed and cried, experiencing both friendships and hardships along the way. Every emotion could truly be felt through the screen!

What a touching story of love that is unshakeable by anything!

This is definitely a must watch. The actors have truly become one with the characters allowing the audience to feel as if they are part of the story. The execution is brilliant and the story behind each and every character is absolutely exceptional.

The strong love between the two truly reflects how any conflicts and desires can be resolved by understanding and empathy for all living beings.

Hong Ye and Xiao Yao will remain together in my heart forever and ever ❤️❤️❤️

The Karmic Cycle had always been the theme of this series

When i started this series i honestly thought this was just one of those fantasy dramas that would fill my day. Started out slow and a bit of a confusing world building but they did pick it up as soon as we reach the middle of the story.

When we reach the story of the mountain elf, thats when i realized that the theme of this series is karma. The madam of that sect wanted to plant good karma for her husband who has turned to a demon because the husband wanted to cure her, in turn she has helped the mountain elf become good. Again the cause and effect. And it has already been established that even when the mountain elf consumed the water from the spring, he just felt empty even when granted with immortality. This is evident when we see the actual place of the spring, its empty, shallow, endless and dark.

The ending of the drama is not gonna be everyone's cup of tea but it exactly fits the entire theme of the series. Hongye finally understands the cycle. No one will be able to destroy the spring as long as there will be living beings with desires but no one will be able to access it anymore if he seals himself with it. As for xiaoyao, she will continue going back in time just to see hongye but the ending will always be the same. And that will be her unattainable desire.

I always say this to everyone, if the message of the series doesn't resonate with you right now, leave it. And when the time comes and you remember this series, watch it.

The performance from the actors are wonderful and you can feel the character’s emotion just from their expressions. They are super sweet together and their chemistry is so cute. Ignore the ratings, this drama is truly enjoyable!

I honestly don’t understand why it didn’t get at least an 8.5 rating. Is it because of the ending? In my opinion, an ending like this is quite common in xianxia dramas. It wasn’t that bad either — it was simply an open ending, which leaves room for interpretation.
Hou Minghao’s acting in this drama is absolutely outstanding, especially in the crying scenes. His emotions felt so real that they made me cry as well. Tan Songyun, as always, never disappoints in any role she plays. The storyline is very engaging. Although the beginning feels like a typical and familiar plot, the story develops into something different and more interesting in the middle.
I also really loved the chemistry between the two leads. Their interactions felt natural and emotionally convincing, which made the story even more enjoyable to watch. Overall, despite the mixed ratings, this drama is definitely worth watching for its strong performances, emotional depth, and compelling story.

"I've fallen in love with this drama, and I wish I could experience it all over again for the first time 😍. Out of all the C-dramas I've watched, this one also stands out for me. I loved the acting, Ost, CGI, and their unique chemistry and charms.
Tan Songyun (XY/Ning-an) is absolutely stunning - beautiful, cute, lovely, wilful, unrestrained, wise, strong and emotionally grounded. She brings light and balance to the drama's darker themes, and I think she did an amazing job portraying her 3 characters. This is her first fantasy drama, and she totally nailed it.

Neo Hou (Hongye) is equally impressive, especially in his first life as a human. He portrays strength, bravery, loyalty, resilience, and devotion, while also showing his vulnerable side. His subtle reactions, beautiful smile, and glances carry so much weight.

The supporting cast, including Xiao Mi, Xiao Mu, Tengshe, and Xiong Qi, Ali, Ao hen and Bz were all fantastic and incredibly loyal🥹

Their love story is timeless - no matter how many years pass, some things remain the same. They're bound to meet, fall in love, and hurt each other unintentionally, yet they remain devoted and loving towards each other. It's a testament to the power of true love that never dies and can't be forgotten.

I accept that not all love stories have perfect endings - even in real life, there's no such thing as a perfect ending 😭. Despite the pain and hurt, their love remains unwavering, and I admire their willingness to sacrifice for each other.

Overall, I'd say this drama is quiet interesting and worth watching. Some might be unsatisfied with the ending, but for me, it's an open ending that leaves room for interpretation. I'll keep rewatching it, even if it gives me a rollercoaster of emotions😊

I love this drama and the characters. Whenever I miss them, I'll rewatch it all over again🩵

P.S. No need to compare this drama with other dramas which are not same genres, plot twist, actors/actress chemistry because they all have it's own uniqueness and storyline.

Impatiently waiting for the next ep! I'm hooked!

Ghad, I'm dying to know what's nextttt!

It was my first time watching an ongoing C-drama, and I can't wait for the rest!

I didn't even feel that I had just finished the first 8 eps 🥹 I wanted more!

I've seen the FL in the series called Under the Power, and that's one of the best series that I was also hooked on until the end. When I searched the actress, I was curious why she rarely had a lead role because I really like her. The acting, her projection, and how she handles the character with her personality—love it! So I'm really excited to see her as the main lead, and I'm not disappointed! She exceeds what I imagined, and thinking about it, she was almost the reason why I finished UTP without even realizing that I had finished it—and liked it!

On the other hand, I've seen the ML in the series called Back from the Brink. What made him remarkable to me was what I call his micro-emotions and how he could portray or express a lot of things through his acting. Honestly, I tried two times to finish that series (BFTB), but I don't know why I always discontinued it halfway. The ML wasn't the problem, I think the chemistry between the leads just wasn't for me.

BUT IN THIS SERIES, it feels like the leads are meant to work! Or maybe they are just both my bias, hehe. But yeah, I was really into the FL's personality and the ML's expressions that I think they work greatly together. So I'm looking forward to the two of them and waiting for the next eps.

I don't think there will be a major second lead syndrome here. I like the supporting lead and the way he was focused on the plot rather than anything else. I'm interested in his sword and his future endeavors because of his principles. And I'm curious whether he'll be corrupted or make his resolution stronger/better.

The story plot also makes me want more! This is the first xianxia that I've watched that really focuses on the magical world, and I always love the scenes in the Demon Realm. It also tackles lots of hypocrisy and borderline problems about the stereotypes of humans vs demons, and I like how they deliver that without giving too much angst. Like, you can enjoy the series, yet you could still appreciate the plot and dilemmas they bring to the table. And that only makes me want more of it!

Ghad, I don't regret that I watched it, but I'm impatient waiting for the next eps.

I'll edit this and hope for a nice ending!

AMAZING!!! BRILLIANT WORK OF ART!!

First of let me start by saying this has been the most amazing journey with Hong Ye, Xiao Yao and their comraderies. I loved each and every minute of their stories. It was a very realistic representation of love and loss.
Each actor had a certain characteristic that undoubtedly captured my attention and made them truly fascinating to watch. The production was top-notch with a strong script/dialogue, effective direction, and an immersive, drop-dead gorgeous set design.
Overall, it was a fantastic emotional rollercoaster.
The one that stood out for me the most was Tan Songyun and not just because she is my favorite cdrama actress lol. Not only is she a long established and versatile actress, but she has also consistently delivered outstanding performances with this one being my most favorite.

I 100% rate this 10/10 and absolutely will recommend it. Thank you to the whole production team for your excellent work of art and hoping for season 2!! 😊

Must Watch

I might be bias because Tan Song Yun is my favorite, but upon watching it, I find this series unique! her acting is not questionable, even she is older than her Male Lead, they have amazing chemistry. Well, Neo Hao is such a gorgeous guy! And their acting is undeniably effective!

I have read that the plot has similarities to other xianxia series, but I do not care. I have watch this first so it's unique for me.

But why Dali has to die 😭😭😭
The exciting part is on the next episode. Now will they face and surpassed the trials of the past.

I'm on episode 23 as of this writing! 🤗

Chemistry was brilliant and even the side characters were hilarious!

I was going to give it an 9 because of the last two episodes but those last few minutes of acting redeemed that rushed ending and the entire show. That ending scene wouldn't have worked if there wasn't that build up and chemistry with the leads throughout the show. And I know people don't like those kinds of open-ended endings but something about it makes you linger and ache (like JTY for ex). I watched the last 5 minutes of the show over and over again bawling each time because of the expressions.

I'm standing by my 10 because for a Xianxia I expect ridiculous CGI, costumes and over the top characters, dramatic plots, but the acting from the main leads and even the 2ML was so good I'd rewatch again for sure. Also the side characters were hilarious and so many scenes had my sister and I folded. Maybe half a point is given to spite the antis hating on TSY's visuals, I think she's GORGE. Also the OST from HMH and TSY are so good and went on my playlist.
