Romance, Romance...Romance!

I loved this very much, I was expecting the romance to be so sweet and captivating, TBH it's the best kisses and intimacy I've ever seen in my Cdrama watching history, the leads had soo much chemistry, if you don't watch this for anything else, the romance alone will keep you, I was at episode 20, and had only two episode left before I realized it was almost done, It's the first I've ever wanted more in a short length series, but that isn't to say it wasn't satisfying, it was simply because I was so into it that I didn't realize I was almost done watching it.

The story isn't great, but it was nice, I don't remember there being much or any filler. The acting was great for everyone including the villain, the villainess girl acting was great as well I really hated her character so she definitely did her job, the villain (ML brother) was an idiot, and overstayed his welcome. The CGI was also good, and the costumes were beautiful, especially the FL outfits, she looked great, TBH I even liked the villainess sleepwear when they were in the modern realm, it was super cute haha

The music was really nice for a short length series as well, will be adding the songs to my favorite drama ost list

The romance was the best part of the show, from beginning to the end we get amazing kisses, amazing chemistry, even the villains at one point had a crazy intimate scene haha, as well as our main couple, I usually don't say this, but I would love to watch the leads together again (while waiting or the last episode to be subbed, I watched a different show with the FL and another actor, and maybe because I watched this first and the chemistry was great, but I felt absolutely nothing for them, even though their kiss scenes were good).

of course there were things that I wish was different, the villains stayed way too long, though I know the many chances they go was because of ML useless father's love for his second son (ML brother), and the other thing I thought would have made this better was the fact that throughout the entire thing the FL had lost her powers, so the ML had to save her, but even without that the charm and attitude of the FL made her likeable still.

So again, if you're not looking for romance, those two things alone listed above, you may not like the show. But if you love romance, that alone in the show was worth the watch

Xianxia without Angst!!!

This drama basically is a xianxia without any angst, a good watch, great visuals, great CGI, somehow high production for short dramas.
This drama feels like a mix of Immortal Samsara, Starry Love, and many other famous xianxias. More like a compilation of happy moments from those dramas.

• Music- above average
• costumes- Excellent
• Acting- Done right✓
• story- light hearted.

For someone who likes slow burn, this was much fast phased with lots of romance. And you might get cheated as the length of the episodes are not as long as said here in MDL. The outro is of 3-4 minutes. So you get to watch around 7-8 mins episodes.

All in all, a good escape from normal lengthy dramas.

Solid 8/10

I. Introduction

I came across a teaser clip on Facebook Watch and was sufficiently intrigued to seek out the full drama. This drama delivers the usual xianxia tropes with a well-paced plot, charming main characters, and better production value compared to many other xianxia short dramas/ web dramas/ mini series. However, its few weaknesses relegate this to a mere 8/10 stars.

II. Story and Plot

The story comes with a twist: The female demon realm ruler (FL) kidnaps the male immortal realm lord (ML) after defeating him to force him and his people to submit to her rule. However, in episode 1 itself, we find the FL getting on her knees and begging the ML to return to his realm and the ML turning deaf, blind, and dumb to her pleas. The narrative progressed at a satisfying pace, dropping trope twists here and there for refreshing effect.

However, from episode 11 onwards, the writing and editing teams got lazy and resorted to cliche tropes (mistresses, miscarriage, misunderstandings) and banal script. The resolution effectively concludes the central conflict (albeit abruptly). Most importantly, there is a happy ending for the FL and ML, leaving viewers with closure rather than requiring Olympic-level mental gymnastics to draw a conclusion.

III. Characters

TZY and YXC are convincing in their roles as the FL and ML respectively. The two main characters are intelligent and skilful-- at least until episode 11 when suddenly they dropped brain cells on the way to reincarnation. The same cannot be said for K and SYE, because they must have been told to hold a certain expression for their villain roles and they clutched those expressions harder than dames clutch their pearls. Their characters regretfully did not get the same clever twists, and were mere hateful cannon fodder throughout the drama.

IV. Production Aspects

I was surprised by the quality of the CGI effects, costumes, and sets, which were full-length-drama worthy. The soundtrack is also ear-worm worthy. You are free to immerse yourself in the storyline without being abruptly jarred by something out of place.

V. Conclusion

It's heartwarming and satisfying if you're looking for something short, no loose ends, clever comedy, bad people getting their comeuppance, and the leads living happily ever after. It's not perfect, but it's rewatch-able.

Plot:

The drama starts with the war between the Immortal and Demon clan. The heroine(The Demon Lord) captures hero(The Immortal Lord) and have him as a hostage for 100 years. When hero gets to know that his step brother is trying to take his place as The Immortal Lord he comes back and reclaims his position. Heroine who is of Ancient Phoenix bloodline has her flame feather falling off. The Flame Feather falls only when the phoenix meets it's destined one, the have to Dual Cultivate for the new Flame Feather to grow, this will also boosts the phoenix's cultivation base. Hero's ex-fiance cheats on him with his half brother. So when heroine asks the hero to marry her he agrees. Thus starts their love story.

Casting:

1) The ML and FL look heavenly in their costumes
2) The 2nd ML and FL makes people want to beat the crap out of them
3) The child characters also did a very nice job

Scenes I liked:

1) When ML saves FL from 2nd FL
2) Their interactions in Mortal Realm
3) Their final kiss where the ML covers their daughter's eyes

A wonderful story with actors with absolutely gorgeous chemistry <3

I could say that the story was a bit rushed but the chemistry of the main characters made me love this drama from the very first episode. I really liked their outfits, especially ML, he looked gorgeous with that hairstyle, that jewelry and the way he was dressed. I also really liked his character. A very loyal man to the woman he loves as any woman would want..
I love everything about this short drama, and also the ending which was very cute and romantic.
As for the music, I gave it a 7.5 not because I didn't like it, but because there were 2 scenes where the music suddenly changed, and it was noticeable that there the scene was cut. But that doesn't change my good opinion of the drama.

a must watch among short dramas

I was seeing videos while it was airing, I wanted to watch, but it was nowhere. Saw that it was now on Wetv, it was my chance even after seeing some spoilers. For a short drama, this one didn’t disappoint.

I really love the romance between the leads. Plus, good chemistry, kisses (it was seriously hot, better than some normal length drama) and I love their dynamic. The costumes are also beautiful and the CGI not bad. ML is so handsome, it needs to be said ahah I was thinking this so many times while watching. Well both of them are beautiful and look good together, but ML is an eye candy.

It’s a simple and easy plot to watch. It’s not a masterpiece plot and neither have surprising big plot twist, but that not why I wanted to watch this. I just wanted a fun watch with good romance. Also, almost no conflict/problems between the leads. Only in the mortel world, but the misunderstandings were cleared in like the same episode (happened like only twice I think) So, we don’t have like many annoying eps of the leads not talking or one being mad. So no annoying moments or trope in my opinion, but maybe except the villain couple who could be considered annoying. So, no love triangle either.

Had funny and cute moments. I also liked the relationship with ML’s mother and the master.

I also like the ending. A beautiful and happy ending that fits our leads. On another note, their daughter is adorable, could have at least give her a hug, but bro wanted to kiss is wife ;) priority…. ahaha The acting was also good in my opinion, you could feel ML emotion in his eyes in their reunion at the end, that the first thing that comes to my mind right now.

I recommend this drama, I wanted more :)

Personally, not going to say names, but I liked this more than many popular normal length episodes drama. It’s so more enjoyable without the annoying tropes/things and forever long misunderstanding. So, for me who is not a fan of wuxia drama in general and only liked/finished a few (I dropped so many), this was really entertaining and enjoyable.

Aaah, the swoonworthy romance...

This is what chinese xianxia/wuxia dramas should be: short, to the point, perfectly written and produced and short! No time wasted on pointless side characters and complicated plots: focus only on two couples and their interactionsand that suffices.

The story is full of clichés and habitual tropes and follows two brothers vying for power in the Immortal Realm. One is good, kind and wise while the other one is mean, stupid, envious and jealous. The good brother falls for the Demon Lady (childhood connection!) and the girl who wanted to marry him gets in the cahoots with the evil brother for revenge. Sometimes, halfway through, as a punishment, they all descend into the mortal realm keeping the same roles (princes and princesses of course) and find themselves again in the revenge plot. The final battle takes place back in the Immortal realm when the evil couple turns completely demoniac!

The plot is highly predictable and unoriginal. But what puts this short c drama above the rest, is the high quality of the production. The story is well written (and funny too boot), and filmed: the cinematography is pretty (a couple of kisses and love scenes were expertly filmed, all with interlaced fingers and floating curtains: they do use that wind machine a lot!), just like the sets and costumes (though I must admit that I find their head dressings a bit ridiculous when they go to bed with their head decked in kilos of jewellery!). The music was nice, the usual xianxia pop. The special effects and the CGI were perfect: don't you just love these battles where nobody hits anybody else and all they do is finger battle? The only thing I found was missing is the chemistry between the leads: there was some but not enough and not to the level of immortal, forever and ever kind of love story!

Everything considered, this is definitely one of the best short dramas ever. It probably would be the best if the chemistry had been to higher level. Nevertheless, it is an excellent, gripping and quick watch!
