Ding Xian and Zhou Siyue's Heartfelt Journey in a Captivating Coming-of-Age Romance

For romcom fans this drama is for you!
This is for me the best highschool drama for 2021...Chen Zhe Yuan and Xu Meng Jie (Rainbow) portrayed their roles amazingly...not too cringy and overly sweet but just the right amount of sweetness and tenderness you would want to watch over and over again...this drama also has the best OST you would want to put on a repeat mode while driving home after a day's work...hopefully they would collaborate once again in a romance drama or movie....it would not hurt if its a historical drama...i recommend this drama to every romantic drama fans out there.Was this review helpful to you?
an amazing and cute drama
Firstly, I have to say that my love for this drama is so huge. Ding Xian and Siyue are my comfort characters. They’re both so encouraging and supportive towards each other, showering each other with love and kindness. No matter what happen, trust Ding Xian to be there for Siyue and Siyue for Ding Xian. If that isn’t love, I’m not sure what is.I really love the entire plot, even during the middle. It is not draggy or rushed which most dramas tend to make a mistake in. Yet, you get to see their stories in the different stages in life. Even though there were time skips, they were used nicely for us to move forward into the timeline.
Xu Mengjie and Chen Zheyuan are super adorable and portrayed the characters well. They are in their 20s yet I never questioned their ages in the drama when they were in high school. I like their chemistry together, Ding Xian and Siyue really were best friends and it was naturally shown by the casts.
The other casts also did well Wang Zexuan, Wang Yilan and Fan Zhixin!!! I honestly would want to see more of Kong Shadi and Song Ziqi though, they’re both so cute too. They grew up together and were by each other’s sides throughout their entire life, which is sweet really. Though they have different personalities, they are a really cute and somewhat compatible couple.
The OSTs are so goooood, I’ve been listening to it everyday ever since I started the drama. It is THAT good. They are also used very nicely throughout the drama to bring out the different emotions and mood of the drama!
This is definitely a drama I would rewatch when I’m down, as there are many quotes in this drama which is relatable. Not only do they comfort the characters, I also felt comforted through this drama, as if there are people who know my struggles and hardships and are cheering for me.
Do give this drama a try! Though its genre is romance, it is not a cliche nor predictable. It’s a light hearted drama which touches on relatable issues faced by high schoolers. I really love this drama so much and hope others will enjoy it too! ❤️

We grow & prosper with the right person | A Mellow & Wholesome school romance drama like no others!
Ding Xian, if I hadn't had you in my life, I wouldn't be the person I am now - Zhou Si YueI don't know how and where to start with this review, but... I just wanna let people know that this is not your usual clichė school romance drama. For some reason, even when the leads look young and innocent they were able to pull their characters with utmost precision and conviction. I guess the saying "Looks can be deceiving" fits these sets of actors the best.
If there's one thing I wanna address as early as now, it's probably how amazing this story executed different types of Parenting. At first, I really hated Ding Xian's mom for being pretentious and control freak but as the story progresses, I realized that she was made like that to show us how a normal citizen more so a Mother survive in this kind of society. It's a representation that all the tough and strict treatment we received from our parents growing up are some of their techniques in giving us lessons and protection. And it was also their way to obtain assurance and peace of mind that we're doing fine outside of their eyesights.
In terms of story progression... I would say that this production has done it magnificently. It has different phases and stages but something I truly look up to them is how they kept the characters rational and mature almost 95% of the time. I can't even remember a single moment when I got aggravated for extreme ridiculousness from any of the cast. This is something worthy to be mentioned because it's really rare for a drama not to use those ludicrous plot devices to heighten up the show. I genuinely respect and admire them for that.
When it comes to the love story and overall romance... I would say that I'm exceptionally satisfied on how they deal with the Main leads. Both Ding Xian & Zhou Si Yue already have a foundation and I was glad that they were able to utilize it to expound more on how mature and logical they are in handling their relationship. In terms of Song Zi Qi & Kong Sha Di's love story... I guess, I should already be thankful that they were still featured quite a bit during their University days and even got a spotlight for themselves during their own conflicts. Which is way better in comparison on how Jiang Chen & You Ke Ke got offscreened for the rest of the 2nd half of the show. Dang! We only see them once during the Spring break reunion and the rest are just update of them getting engaged and pregnant. Tragic!
Also, I wanna commend this story for not entirely destroying any of the characters. I find it fascinating how they can keep on being considerate and civil even to those who treat them badly. Like how? I really need to learn that. Cause I tend to always retaliate back once offended. Hahaha! Kidding aside, I'm just really pleased on how Su Bu Cong turned out to be after getting a bit misdirected to the wrong path. I mean, among all the characters, he's that one person I can't afford to witness go astray. Cause he-is-that-FINE! and I'm glad they never taint that good aura and reputation of him.
Lastly, cinematography, design and color scheme really brought this dramas mood and ambiance in a completely different level. They may have enriched some of the colors and design but it never, even once, hurt the overall quality of the drama. I'd say It even accentuated the hidden charms of this production as a whole.
P.S. Aside from Si Yue & Bu Cong's cute rivalry. One thing that really left an impression in me are the words from Si Yue's father.

Story - 10, I honestly even tried 'quite hard' to find faults and something dislikeable about this drama so that I can give it a 9.5 at best but the way they delivered and executed the whole story left me no windows to put my criticisms on. I can't say it's flawless but it has that aura and vibe where you just can't be audacious as to criticize it in any way or form. It was well-created and properly put together. A School romance that's far ahead compared to those tiring overly clichėd ones we're all used to.
Acting/Cast - 10, Spectacular and perfect choice of Artists! Aside from Chen Zhe Yuan, I was really worried about the rest of the cast since I'm not really familiar with them but their performances proved me wrong. They played their roles very well and I never really felt any awkwardness watching any of them. And as I mentioned above... Even when they all look young, their acting and aura tells me otherwise. They're professional actors/actresses who were chosen for their specific roles because they deserved it.
Music - 10, Entirely addicting and satisfying. It has that emotional and sentimental impact. At first, I was kind of indifferent towards the Opening OST but as time goes by, it became the emotional source/drive that made me so vulnerable and sensitive to every single moment. I swear! Be it romantic, happy, sad or emotional scene as long as you got that song playing on the background I'll immediately become a mess. Not to mention how equally good the other songs are.
Rewatch Value - 10, I'll take this section as if it's a question of whether I'll willingly recommend this to others or not. And of course, that's a YES! I will never regret watching this masterpiece and would love to see more people watch this as well. This is a timeless show that can really measure up to those popular dramas out there!
Overall - 10, Do I even need to explain why? This production exceeded my expectation and truly satisfies me a lot. My decision of watching another contemporary drama after a long while is really worth it. Not to mention that the last one I watched was Chen Zhe Yuan's Mr. Bad. Anyways, I'm really glad I picked this drama among my long drowning list of C-drama shows! Pick this and you'll never regret. I Promise!

A MUST WATCH DRAMA!!!
I always get bored watching dramas that have so many episodes but this one is different. I managed to watch it fully in 3 days. The cast looks handsome and pretty, they act very well and the chemistry is so good!!.........................................................................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so addicted to it!!!!!! I've been following their accounts in different platforms and is planning to watch their other dramas. FLUFFY WHOLESOME DRAMA ABOUT ROMANCE AND FRIENDSHIP
underrated gem! each episode was so cute and i love how they were equally whipped for each other from the very beginning... super sweet and super wholesome drama that does not just nail the romance part but also nails other topics like family, friendship, loyalty etc etc i love it! highly recommend this drama to everyone... don't hesitate, it's good from start to finish :) i love every single character in the show - it's so funny at some parts that i burst into laughter, touching and emotional that i cried and sweet that i couldn't stop smiling like an idiot!!!Was this review helpful to you?
It captivated my heart and mind
Though its a simple school youth drama but it addressed a lot of issue each of us face during our high school days. The challenges we face, trying to know ourselves better, trying to be a better person, trying to become the child that your family would be proud of, trying to make friend and to fit it. So much to do in so little time. So blur yet we like to pretend that we have it together and we can do it!I really see myself in some part this drama.
I especially love the FL, Xu mengjia. She did a wonderful job on Ding Xian. I love her smiles ,her timidity and courage that happens all at the same time always. She really warms my heart. No matter how big the challenge, she always master up the courage to take the first step to do what is within her capacity at that moment and slowly build herself closer towards her dreamed destination. I totally relate to this. It reminded me of my youthful days.
The ML did a good job too. Man usually have a difficult time trying to express their feelings but in this drama the ML is charming due to his confidence in knowing himself better, knowing what he is capable of and knowing what he wants. Setting his eyes on the prize. And he was sure he likes the FL a lot and never hesitate to show his concern and care.
I didn't remember how i came about watching this drama, i usually don't like to watch school youthful drama regardless of how high the rating is but i am very glad i watched this and i watched it twice back to back! This is my first watching a drama back to back from beginning to the end and still feel that its such a good watch.
There isn't too much kissing and cheesy scene like all the recent Cdrama that really is empty and not worth the time spend. I usually drop them after 2 to 3 ep cos its such a waste of time.
A big applause to the Producer and production team! The plot, script are not draggy or too hasty.
Really recommend you to watch it when you are feeling down or lonely. It will pick you up and warms your heart.

Wow drama
Guys if anyone thinking to watch or not just go ahead and watch tis drama, so cute and lovely story initially i didn't like ml character but later on lol he is so sweet and gentle to her and they both were so in love to give up their career but still a claps to their acting and yes side couples acting also good i thought i can see more about them but after 15 episodes scenes were less but anyhow the story about main keads good superb and authot who has written tis story should get an award and ml he has such a face lol i fell for him and fl oh my gosh she is so cute and the way she calls him by name hahaha i wonder how is she in real life but tis story is about career love and family more about the reality good make more such dramas thanks for the drama i enjoyed itWas this review helpful to you?
This deserves a watch
Theme : Very common school roammance. But there is no cliche to avoid.This story might look very simple and straight, but this is very inoccent drama. This can be one of best school dramas ever.
The actors have depicted their feelings amazingly with their acting. just there eyes could say you what they feel about thhe character. This drama will not bore you for a minute. The story was kept sort with descriptive feelings. Can show the hardships of top students and their hard work to reach the goal.
This definlty deserves a watch, you wont regret.

It's a school romance drama which started being a deskmate turned into a soulmate. This drama kinda remind me of the one iconic taiwanese drama of 2005 "It Started With A Kiss" which the ML was also the most genius in school and eventually turned out to be the tutor of the FL. But anyway, they are totally different😁. I'm really not into this kind of genre but this one is an exemption, as I've noticed that they've got vast number of good reviews and quite in good ratings. I loved how the story goes with inclusion of family affairs, friendship which gives me inspiration 'no one should be left behind', lifting each other to reached their own goals. And of course, a cute romance of a typical teenagers then, matured as they become older and same goes to their relationship. I cannot repress myself to be emotional whenever the guy genuinely shows his sincerity without realizing it's already out of his league😆ttttt....... the power of love certainly made you bubblehead. You cannot expect more to them but their production can make you to loved other preferences in a love story drama. Chemistry is undeniable, especially when they both in denial stage and jealousy takes place. It can also gives you glimpse of their technology as the ML was an automotive top student in the univeristy.....indeed, they are also advanced on this field. Their ost are suit to my ears, perfect for nostalgic mood and finding inspirations. I want to emphasize what Zhou Siyue said in the last episode, "Equation require solution but, love has no solution" (kaya marami tayong marurupok sa mundo).😅 Anyway, nice catch💯✔Was this review helpful to you?
Worth the time
A very good drama especially both leads acting were so good. It looks so natural and they acted with their eyes. It was not boring and the drama really taught about family, life and relationships. It is quite a mature drama and does not have any childish aspects. Recommended if you don't want to watch a heavy drama!The actors are new but they portrayed their role very well and they look very compatible. Their acting were so good especially their crying scenes it was very convincing. I really had fun watching this and this is the next best drama alongside le coup de foundre.
The antagonists were not so annoying like other dramas and most importantly the characters are all mature. Even the second couple was fun to watch and have viewers to cheer on for them.
