quite disappointed

I can FINALLY write a review about this drama.. took me a while.
it unfortunately disappointed me. It started really strong so i was really disappointed how it went further on in the drama.

I said this in another review, the dramas lately feel like a gaming ad. You like the game in the ad and download it, only for it to be completely different and dissapointing.

After the never-ending summer (the downloaded game), was a bummer. They ruined the whole never-ending summer concept that was already so good. If the drama ended on episode 20ish, this would’ve been a complete different review.

The first 20 episodes were really great. The concept was good and it felt really like a never-ending summer. It felt fresh and warm, a great summer breeze with a lot of problems that made us sweat, but somehow the best summer.

By turning the whole concept and making it a stupid work bullshit it got completely destroyed. I don’t want to spoil but the way they ruinited was so weird and off??? I didn’t like the way they ruined the unforgettable summer.

The episodes after 20ish was so hard to watch i needed to motivate myself to finish it. I just don’t know why they feel the need to add another random ass plot in the drama. This is happening to a lot of dramas and i don’t see the benefit?

It disappointed me, yes, but i enjoyed the never-ending summer. So giving it a 7 is the best way out.

just perfection. a 10/10 from me

I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this drama. It perfectly portrayed the emotions of two teens and then their reunion in adulthood. I’ve been a fan of BaoBao for a while but I had no idea Keyu was this good. For everyone saying that their relationship is confusing because one day Xixiao hates Zhou Wan, the next they’re friends, then lovers - it’s absolutely normal, especially for their teen years. As for their adulthood, in the 10 years they weren’t together I think he never really hated her, he just missed her and was hurt because he didn’t know the reason she left. But after they cleared the misunderstandings their relationship truly flourished, so this drama is a 10/10 for me, already rewatching 🥰

*edit
Okay so a hundred tiktoks and at least a thousand ost listens later I’m here again to express the feeling in my heart about this drama.
First of all the relationship between Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao is more complicated than one may think, because if you put yourself in Zhou Wan’s shoes you’ll understand why she decided it’s better to leave Xixiao. She was only 18, just discovered that her boyfriend’s father has something to do with the bankruptcy of her dad’s company and even his death. She was also pressured by Xixiao’s grandpa to leave him, so in her mind the better choice was to hurt him by lying than to make him basically choose between her and his family. As for Xixiao I absolutely get his mood swings in 2026 lol😭 Like he tells her to never show up in front of him again or he’ll make her beg and cry, but then he’s the desperate one. All of his reactions were reasonable tho - from his pov Zhou Wan lied to him and hurt him without any explanation and then 10 years later she says nothing about it. Sh*t, I’d have mood swings too😅😅 Howeverrrrr our boy is so down bad he completely forgives her the moment he lays eyes on her again (even tho he appeared angry, I just know he was so relieved to see her again) .All I can say is their love story is very beautiful and they both overcome their own fears together.
ALSO I have to say the ost is absolutely amazing, this is one of the ost’s that make you feel like you’re levitating, crying on the inside, smiling - basically feeling every emotion haha😆
In conclusion I absolutely recommend this drama!!!

Love isn't easy, isn't it? But it still beautiful, isn't it?

I'm craving romance and I'm curious about Zhou Keyu (I know him from the truth), and of course Baobao Bao Shangen. And it's unexpectedly worth it! KE YU I SEE YOU!!

Story,
I expected a lot of general premises about modern idol drama. I know I will find a lot of misunderstanding. In an easy way, I expected common, but I got extraordinary! This misunderstanding is actually quite a lot yet surprisingly enjoyable. Thank you director, screenwriter, and the actors for bringing this beautiful story to life.

Acting,
OMG CHEMISTRY IS CHEMISTRY! This is the first time I saw Keyu and Baobao acting, how come I never decided to see them? Should I watch their other dramas?
Their acting actually complements each other. From the small gesture to happy or depressed scenes actually made me get a rollercoaster mood in the middle of the dawn. Sometimes crying, sometimes laughing without noise, or even punching my shark and sheep doll (because my shark got his new sheep friend now).
Even the backburner, second and third couple, and the other actors are soo good!
And Ke Chun! HEY I CAN SEE YOU BOSSY CEO!! Watching you in long drama is actually quite nervous, but GOD YOU SLAY THAT CHARACTER! At some point people keep calling you and that main couple are actually not acting at all.

Music,
I decided to put all of the songs to my playlist. Yeah, the soundtrack was really good!

Overall and Rewatch Value,
If you are craving for fluffy romance that makes you feel the softness of the clouds, the warmth of spring sunlight, or even the coldest pole, you can watch this.

Low budget boys over flower kinda plot

I created an account on this site just to pour my heart out . This drama will have you on an emotional roller coaster. I genuinely don’t blame FL for her actions becus at the end of the day she was a child failed by adults around her . As for ML family so upsetting how the acted. . The didn’t even look that wealthy to me . This drama was giving low budget boys over flower plot but overall I enjoyed it and glad the got a happy ending but it will really be nice for dramas to invest in happy moments more than having all the sad moments have more scenes then by the time for romance we have few mins left for season wrap it’s not fail . I will rate this drama a 7/10

Never-Ending Summer — A Love That Hurts, Heals, and Stays With You

Never Ending Summer is one of those stories that quietly gets under your skin and refuses to leave. It doesn’t rely on loud drama or unrealistic twists—it hurts in a very real way. The kind of hurt that comes from misunderstandings, sacrifices made in silence, and love that never truly fades.

Hard drama to move on from

This one of my top fav 2026 modern dramas. The storyline was just good i loved that it didnt drag or have such a slow burn romance. Bao shang en and daniel zhou chemistry is off the charts i hope they do another drama together. Daniel first sniper butterfly and now this he is def ml material. I never wanna see sml like he was only for your love. I know some fans were annoyed that cut some stuff from the novel but thats how works they can't always fit everything. Def recommend this drama thats why i didnt put too much in my review just watch it.

Enchanting

Wow - Loved it, loved it. From the chemistry between the leads, the story, acting and the Osts! So beautiful and painful. And the ending just make you want to re-watch it from the very beginning. Highly recommended. One of my favorite now of all time. The love story and character developments are beautiful to watch. The cinematography is magnificent, especially the scenes of the main cast as teenagers and adults. Don't miss out on this gem.

Zhou Keyu - Yearner God

This series completely wrecked me. I spent a day and a night binge watching and have been mourning not being with these characters anymore. The OST is outstanding and very playable, I have already rewatched several episodes a few times, and I can't stop thinking about the story overall.

The breakup arc is extremely frustrating but extremely understandable as well. I felt as if my own heart was broken several times over. Both leads are superb and fully immersed in their characters.

Zhou Keyu especially stole my heart though. To say RAW emotion is an understatement. Give that man all the awards and all the yearner roles 💜🫣💜

✨ Never Ending Summer: A Masterpiece That Touched My Heart and Will Stay With Me Forever!

I honestly don’t know where to begin… I just finished *Never Ending Summer*, and I already know this drama will stay with me for a long time. 😭 This was the first C-drama that truly touched me on such a deep emotional level. It became my favorite C-drama and one of my top favorite dramas ever. 🤍✨

*Never Ending Summer* is one of those rare dramas that stays with you long after the final episode. It is not just a romance, but an emotional journey filled with love, pain, sacrifice, healing, and unforgettable moments. 💔 There was so much going on at the same time in this drama, yet every moment felt meaningful and never overwhelming.

What made this drama truly special to me was the beautiful love story between Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao. Their relationship felt so genuine, deep, and meaningful. 🤍 Zhou Wan was the first one to quietly develop feelings for Lu Xixiao and kept those emotions in her heart, even before he truly knew the depth of what she felt. Later, Lu Xixiao slowly fell in love with her during that unforgettable summer, and their connection became something neither of them could ever forget.

Lu Xixiao’s love for Zhou Wan was especially touching. 😭 He was always there for her, protecting her, supporting her, and standing by her side through every difficulty and challenge she faced. Even when he was hurt, his feelings never disappeared. His love was shown through his actions, his sacrifices, and the way he always chose to care for her. 🤍

Their journey was not easy, but that is what made their love so beautiful. They faced misunderstandings, pain, and obstacles that tested them, yet their bond remained unforgettable. Even after many years and a painful past, their feelings never truly disappeared, which made their story even more emotional and meaningful. 😭

The acting, chemistry, storytelling, and emotions were beautifully done. I laughed, I cried, and I felt every moment alongside the characters. 😭🤍 This drama made me completely attached to their journey, and the ending left me with so many emotions. ✨

As someone who mostly watched K-dramas before, I never expected a C-drama to impact me this deeply. *Never Ending Summer* became more than just a drama I watched, it became a story I experienced and will always remember. 🤍

This drama will always have a special place in my heart. It is not only my favorite C-drama, but also one of the most unforgettable love stories I have ever watched. A true masterpiece that I will cherish forever. 🤍✨

Never-Ending Misstreatment

The high school arc was reasonably satisfying, as the two leads gradually formed a bond and their backstories were revealed.

However, the story getting worse after graduation. The female lead, previously portrayed as assertive and intelligent in high school, suddenly became foolish, implausible character development.
Whereas the male lead grew for the better, even willing to sacrifice himself for her. Meanwhile, the female lead became indecisive and even abandoned the male lead for a trivial reason, despite ML deep love for her.

As for the secondary couple, the second female lead was overly selfish and refused to voice her true desires directly, even though the second male lead had told her to speak up, displaying such immaturity that she filed for divorce, despite the situation being her own fault for not communicating openly with her husband.

The reason this story is ruined was Jiang Yan (the female lead's childhood friend). He exposed the female lead's whereabouts, leading to the male lead getting stabbed, yet faced no punishment or fitting karma. The female lead's mother also escaped retribution for her past actions, even though she ultimately helped the female lead resolve the case regarding the father's past.

frickin goated show i love it sm

def one of the best modern cdramas i've watched! perhaps one of my top 10 dramas of all time. the romance is just sooooo good and the angst?!?! ugh i frickin love bao shangen and zhou keyu mannnn they're both so fine and ugh i want both of them fr

zhou wan and lu xixiao's chemistry is through the roof! its so insane. the tension?!?! ugh too good. the acting was just phenomenal

there's def some plot holes and ?? moments, and the ending like you don't really see much of characters from previously but they wrapped it up pretty well. i wish there were more episodes with zw and lxx!!

i think the storyline was well written. the story hate is mainly because of like why zhou wan did certain things but you gotta keep in mind that this girl went through so many traumatic events all before the age of 18. like she never got to experience being a kid because she had to grow up so fast. and ofc there will be times where she does something and you're like ?? but keep in mind this girl is 18. like come onnnnn give her a break TT

also the ost is just perfection *chefs kiss* not a single flop they're all bangers

yea not a single bad thing to say... its just that good

p.s. zhou wan's outfits throughout the whole show?!?! she looked sooo good. her stylist needs a big fat kiss fr

note: 2nd (10 years later / adult) arc starts ep 20
