“You are my fate that I cannot defy”

“Even if my feelings for you make me insignificant and weak, you are my fate that I cannot defy”

My Demon is the story of two people who are bound by fate who will eventually fall in love but their circumstances won't let them be together. This trope has been used so many time but My Demon has a way of making it feel new. The storyline is nothing extraordinary but its balanced. Its filled with the necessary amount of romance, angst, fluff, comedy and tension.

I have no words for the casting of My Demon except that its perfect. Everyone did a really good job. In romance dramas like My Demon, if there is no chemistry between the leads, it never works. But Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung's chemistry makes this drama so much better.

The antagonists of My Demon are great at adding the tension and fear to this drama. They have a way of making you annoyed and even creeped out at times. Kim Seol Jin as Gi Gwang-chol and Kang Seung-ho as Noh Do-gyeong are great at creeping me out. Everytime they appear on the screen, I feel strangely uncomfortable.

My Demon has a great soundtrack. Whenever Wherever by Roy Kim and Say You Love Me by Sam Kim are my favourite as of now. And Jeong Guwon and Do Do hee's scenes with Our Night is More Beautiful Than Your Day by New Jeans feels comforting. It mostly plays during the soft romantic scenes and that song makes it better. The opening OST True by YOARI has my heart.

One of my favourite thing about a fantasy drama are the magical elements. I feel so dramas forget to add those elements or sometimes does a bad job at adding those elements. However, My Demon definitely knows how to add those elements. Even though there aren't many, the scenes that has those magical elements are still printed in my mind. It knows how to make a scene look beautiful.

This movie's first half excited and fascinated me with it's chase scenes, the serial killer manipulating everyone and the abduction of Kim hye yoon's character. I loved the family part of this movie, especially the mother-daughter relationship. But the last half was extremely disappointing to me. The serial killer's actions were impulsive, but the police were oblivious to them. The police's potrayal, to the very end, was very badly done. For most of the parts in the last half, they showed some chase scenes and some action scenes between the serial killer and the female lead.

The casting was perfect and everyone in their character did an awesome job, especially, Jin ki joo and Wi ha joon. Even though Wi ha joon's character's only job was to swear, hit people, manipulate everyone and getting away after doing some very impulsive actions that explicts shows that he is the serial killer. Honestly, I feel that the latter half could have been better if they didn't try to stretch the movie by showing a lot of unnecessary chase scenes and very predictable plots.

I didn't even notice that the movie had any music because I was just staring at the movie for the sake of finishing it. I really expected something better after watching the trailer and the teasers. I thought it was going to be an intense mystery and a psychological battle between the female lead and a serial killer as there aren't many K-movies that shows something like a mental fight with a female lead. But what happened was that they revealed the serial killer to everyone too soon. They should have gone for some more manipulation from Wi ha joon's character, instead of those impulsive actions. It would have created a fear in the viewer's heart(?).

I am not someone who like action scenes in thriller or mystery movies. So, it might not be for me. But if you are someone who likes action scenes and mystery, then it might be a good movie for you. I would recommend it. But the story didn't seem that interesting to me.

this is why you don't peep on a murderer, kids

First of all, it's hilarious that this movie is tagged as a horror genre and not a comedy because I loved the comedical aspect of this movie the most. The story and the characters were intentionally messed-up and I watched the movie knowing that. But those messed-up characters psychology was very funny to me. There was no horror in this movie in my opinion because even those murder scenes were hilarious.

At some point, I felt like they were romanticizing the main leads relationship. Also, the male lead trying to change the female lead's character felt very hilarious to me and at some point, I felt pity for the guy because you could see that all that was happening in his life messed him up. But he still tries to remain like a good person till the very end. And he feels guilty about the peeping thing too, but he was too depended on the female lead and suicidal to restrict his behaviour.

I've seen Haruka Fukuhara's acting before, and she does a better job here. I couldn't imagine her as two-faced serial killer, but she does a fairly good job and honestly, I liked the way she kept both the angelic and eerie vibe around her through-out the movie. However, I loved Yosuke Sugino's acting the most. The others did a good job too, but they weren't that important to me. So, I didn't notice them that much.

I didn't really notice the music, so I don't know:") I'll just give it an average rating.

This movie is enjoyable if you don't think much about it because if you think much about it, it will be really weird. The whole premise of the movie was weird to me. But I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected:D

this is kind of a rant. i hope no one feels hurt by it:')

This drama has no storyline. I have no problem with fast-paced romance, (even though I prefer the slow-burn one because you can feel connected with the characters as indivuals and feel the sexual tension, intensity slowly) but it has to be well executed for me, as a viewer to feel it. I watched this drama to the end to find a storyline which was non-existent in Coffee and Vanilla.

The characters had nothing special about them that would make me feel something about them, except that they are supposed to be attractive. A character having a pretty face doesn't mean anything if they are not well-written. The female lead always have the same "surprised pikachu face" expression throughout if not all, then most of the drama.

However I was worried about the female lead as I thought that this drama had a thriller or psychology trope. But when I was surprised to know that it wasn't, I thought that this was a healing romance because I had a strong feeling that the male lead was abused by his mother which he was, but it was kind of normalised(?).

Nevertheless, in the start, I sincerely believed that the male lead had something wrong with him like there was something off with him. (Well, there was. He was a manipulating, possesive jerk who is a big red flag) but I thought it was something related to the non-existence plot of Coffee and Vanilla. But there wasn't. They treated his character as if he is the perfect guy or something.

Coffee and Vanilla's characters had zero personality, zero chemistry and zero development. And their reactions to a very extreme situation or to an awful incident like sexual assualt was too light that I wasn't able to feel the connection with the characters and their feelings felt like nothing to me as they were too unrealistic to a point where I couldn't empathasize with them.

The supporting characters had no life apart from harming the fl and ml's already harmed relationship, praising the fl or the ml and falling in love with the fl or the ml only to fall out of love in like less than one week.

Won't be talking about the love triangle. It's pretty much only there to make the ml jealous or something and to give the ml and fl a reason to make out:')

A lot of reviewers here are either praising the so-called intimate moments or calling those moments robotic and not intense at all. Honestly, I never noticed their expressions when they were making-out. Maybe, I was used to the male lead's "i am so hot, so lemme give y'all an eye-smile" expression and the fl's "lemme pretend i am a surprised pikachu" expression that I could never notice it:')
However, when the 2nd ml and the 2nd fl made out, i was like, "what the hell, gal?" Why would someone make out with their longtime best friend's sexual assaulter knowing that they sexually assualted their friend?

enjoyable, but not that good

First of all, the sypnosis seems a bit misleading. Li Teng doesn't seem to have high EQ. But that's not that important.

As someone who loves romance and mystery, I was excited to watch Mysterious Love as it had a lot of good reviews. And the first few episodes were enjoyable, even though the supporting characters were really annoying and unlikable at times (mostly).

But the last episodes that I have watched are probably the reason with the second reason being annoying supporting characters, especially the SFL and that kid.

The FL and ML's relationship is supposed to be something passionate, warm and caring, but I was unable to feel these feelings when they met after five years. The feelings of longing wasn't potrayed that well by both the actors and the story didn't seem help. Despite, both the main cast did a pretty good job.

The supporting casts, considering how shallow their characters seemed, did a decent job, except that at times, they just felt like emotionless robots to me.

All the characters had a good potential, except the SFL and that kid. But they weren't that fleshed out, nor was the story. The story had such a good potential, but all that ended up being is just the male chasing after the female and making his character unlikable to the point, he became one of the reason I am dropping it.

The music was pretty good. Nothing awesome. The usual C-drama OST or background music.

Mysterious Love only has 16 episodes and the story is nothing serious, so it seems like an easy watch drama.
