A part-time high school in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Students with all sorts of circumstances attend the school. Yanagida Gakuto (21 years old) is a delinquent who can't escape a negative spiral. Koshikawa Angela (43 years old), whose mother is Filipino and father is Japanese, has almost given up on keeping up with her classes. Natori Kasumi (16 years old) has orthostatic intolerance and continues to attend school in the nurse's office. Nagamine Shozo (76 years old) was unable to attend high school as a young man and had no choice but to work. Fujitake Kanae, an enigmatic science teacher, is assigned to teach these students, who are all different in age and background. With Fujitake's guidance, they aim to present their results at an academic conference based on an experiment to recreate a "crater on Mars" in the classroom, but various difficulties stand in their way, including their own disabilities, family problems, and unbreakable relationships... Unexpected I guess.
Im going to be honest I started watching because Tora was in it. I've only watched four episode and I loved it all, they tackle heavy topics which is unexpected. We were all curious once some just lost it, this is basically the story. (Obviously it's much more than that)They basically tackle different situations on how and why people stop going to school, it's basically the tale of the Night Schoolers. I go to school as well similar to theirs (Saturday/Sundays schedule) and I'm meeting a lot of cool people from people that already graduated to people already with families, so it's really cool to see what it's like for different places (Japan in this case) I find the environment in this types of schedules very soothing no competition at all, and everyone is basically more mature than you everyone is also older than me so... not that maturity comes with age. (Just for context I guess Im a normal student that just happen to choose this schedule to find a job for extra income )
I'm planning to review every episode as it's all very unique.
Toranosuke Kobayashi is fabulous young actor
Toranosuke Kobayashi (Taketo) acting is spectacular! He steals the show.I think i'll watch the next episodes cause i was so mesmerized by his acting. He looks like he's been in the entertainment business for years, but actually he's just a new actor. Natural talent.
The theme for this series is also very interesting
