Singer Jin Xi’s foray into acting was a disaster, drawing widespread ridicule for his abysmal performance. Refusing to admit defeat, he charted a new course by trying his hand at musical theater, determined to stage a comeback and prove his detractors wrong. By a twist of fate, he fell for Ning Jin—a cool, uncompromising, and elite musical theater director—after an accidental, intimate kiss; their paths crossed again shortly after at an audition. Ning Jin, already skeptical of idols crossing over into theater, was incredibly harsh toward Jin Xi—a "traffic-driving" newcomer who had seemingly parachuted into the production—subjecting him to a relentless gauntlet of grueling, "devilish" training. Braving ostracism from senior troupe members, sabotage by rivals, and public scrutiny, Jin Xi practiced day and night to hone his craft. He gradually shed his idol persona to reveal his authentic self, slowly winning over the aloof director and the rest of the troupe. Throughout their journey, the pair weathered numerous trials. Reviews
Fun and easy to watch!
This show for me feels like a sitcom, unhinged over the top comedy, fun interactions between the characters with different scenarios in none chronologically arranged episodes. If follows the story of an idol turned actor who faces critism for his acting, he auditions for a role in a musical theatre troupe to improve on his skills.
The story follows his growth and interactions with the rest of the members as well as his romance with the director who he actually has incredible chemistry with.
like I said it's a fun show, no groundbreaking masterpiece but in its category it's interesting.
Light-hearted and funny show with great music!
I went in with zero expectations but ended up enjoying it overall. Although really low budget you could see they put an effort into making this which was amazing to watch. It was light-hearted and funny, they knew they were going for a over the top comedy and didn't try to be something else. All of the characters were so silly, and that made them lovable, I adored the whole group. And I was interested in all of their arc. Liked the actors chemistry together. Personally I really fell for the sfl (fei xin).
The musical parts were well-made, I loved the music and the performances.
All in together I would definitely recommend this for when you need something to relax to and laugh.
