Disappointing
Promised everything delivered nothing. The pilot was amazing, the show itself is predictable and basically has no plot. It’s the same thing happening every episode. The idea was there but they didn’t deliver. The actresses are amazing tho.Gorya is either suffering or being a bitch for no reason.
Shasha no complaints, good character.
Bambi is fun, she’s a interesting character, but predictable.
Prim is meh.
Praew is so annoying, why do you keep pressuring the girl you like to come out when she’s not ready? My god this girl annoys me.
Min is a good character, good storyline but has a bad romantic interest

Disappointment of tomorrow
I originally started watching this because I'm a HUGE fan of namtam's acting. Also when I saw the pilot my expectations were high, maybe too high. The first few episodes of the series were good. The editing was kinda choppy but it's gmmtv so I kinda expected it.
What I liked: The casting/acting. The casting for this series was PERFECT. GIVE WHOEVER DID THE CASTING A RAISE. Sadly the acting was the only good thing abt this series...
What I didn't like: The music, editing, plot, writing... I can go on but for your sake I won't cause I don't think you'd want to read allat. I was so excited for the OST but when I heard it I almost shed a tear (Not happy tears btw). It's giving 5$ and a dream. Gmmtv really hates their actresses and they don't even try to hide it. Enough abt the music, the plot and writing was so bad that the characters and acting couldn't even save the series. They could've wrapped the series nicely in ep 8 or 9(?) but they just had to drag the plot out. Also PRIM PMO IN EP 10 AND 11 I HAD TO TAKE A LAP AROUND THE HOUSE CAUSE ATP SHE'S TRYING TO RAGEBAIT ME AND ITS WORKING, and don't even get me started on praew. STOP TRYING TO PREASSURE YOUR CRUSH/GIRLFRIEND INTO COMING OUT WHEN SHES CLEARLY NOT READY AND WHEN SHE TELLS YOU THAT SHES NOT READY DONT GET FCKING MAD YOU IMBECILE. lowk started crashing out writing this. mb chat.
ANYWAYS ONLY WATCH THIS IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO AND WANT TO FEEL SOMETHING CAUSE THE CHARACTERS BE RAGEBAITING YOU 24/7.

In It for the Long Haul
Things started off hectic and interestingly messy, yes, but it didn't take long for every FL's personal/relationship conflict to thread together into a grander pattern.I think they did very well covering the serious topics they did. And when the finale came, I realized a real sisterhood had been formed before my eyes between all the girls. Perhaps a snarky/competitive one, but a true I-got-you sisterhood nonetheless.
If I had to settle on an overall theme for Girl Rules, I would say it's support vs sacrifice/selfishness.
How, by caring for ourselves and honoring our desires, we care for our partner; they do not want to see us hide away important parts of ourselves, beat ourselves up, or struggle alone simply to maintain some semblance of personal pride. How a "sacrifice" made for a partner isn't a real sacrifice when, at the heart of it, you are making a decision on your own that they would not be happy with. And at the same time, support is/should be conditional. Time is not limitless, and neither is patience. We don't have to be at our best to deserve love, but we do have to make an effort to match our partner's commitment to the relationship.
I would be remiss not to mention the stellar performances from the main cast. There were a lot of delicate scenes and difficult emotions to convey, and all of the FLs rose to the occasion.
Well done, Girl Rules! Well done!
I think there is enough potential here for a second season. But let me just say/throw some shade that if it were to go in the direction of Only Friends S2, I wouldn't want it!

One of the most disappointing series I have ever watched
What I liked:The acting was genuinely excellent. Film, Milk, and Love especially stood out, and their performances helped elevate the otherwise unappealing characters in this series. The cinematography, wardrobe, styling, and background music were also good. As expected from GMMTV’s production team, the technical side was solid.
What I disliked:
My biggest problem with this series is how terrible the characters are. A story that looks chaotic on the surface needs to show the characters’ different sides, contradictions, emotional wounds, and inner conflicts properly. Without that, the chaos just becomes shallow. Unfortunately, I do not think this series managed to do that at all.
Prim:
Prim hurts Gorya, does almost nothing to properly face what she did to her, and then ends up flirting with Bambi. Then, in Episode 4, she somehow reconciles with Bambi.
As a viewer, I was left asking too many basic questions. Even if the reason Prim and Bambi broke up is mentioned, the emotional process behind it and the path toward their reconciliation are not shown convincingly by Episode 4. The structure of the story is clearly flawed. Did Bambi ever truly make amends for what she did to Prim? Did the story build enough emotional groundwork for Prim to still be unable to abandon Bambi? The series should have properly shown all of these things before portraying their reconciliation.
It felt like the director or screenwriters understood the story in their own heads, but failed to communicate it to the audience. They seemed to assume the audience would understand what they themselves had not properly shown.
Bambi:
I do not mind Bambi being selfish. A selfish character can still be fascinating if the story gives her strong beliefs, a personal code, regret, or a clear sense of emotional conflict. But I do not think this series gave Bambi enough of any of that.
Her line to Airy about not being able to punish herself any further was especially hard for me to accept. That is not something she has the right to say to the person she hurt. If the line had been framed as words coming from her own weakness, as if she were desperately trying to convince herself, I might have understood it. But saying that directly to the victim crossed a line.
And Prim defending Bambi in that situation only made it worse. Prim should have let Bambi face the consequences on her own.
Shasha:
To be honest, I liked Shasha until Episode 8. She seemed to have a clear core as a character. I expected her relationship with Gorya to help her discover what real love means and grow as a person.
But Episode 9 destroyed that hope for me.
In order to get Gorya, Shasha uses her friend and manipulates the situation so that Gorya will come to her. And the story still lets them end up together as if this were a proper romantic payoff.
For this kind of story to work, Shasha needed to face Gorya directly and honestly tell her how she felt. Instead, it made Gorya feel less like a person Shasha truly loved and more like something she wanted to possess.
In the end, Gorya felt like an object to Shasha. I honestly cannot imagine these two lasting for many years.
Gorya:
Among the main characters, Gorya was the only one I found somewhat decent. The process of her being abandoned by Prim and then gradually healing through her relationship with Shasha had some genuinely good moments.
Even so, compared to memorable characters from other series, there were not many moments where I felt that Gorya herself was especially compelling. And since Shasha seems to treat Gorya more like something to possess than someone to truly love, I do not think Gorya will actually be happy.
This does not feel like a happy ending to me. It feels like a bad ending disguised as a happy ending.
Min:
For most of the story, Min was far too passive and indecisive. At first, it makes sense for her to be confused after meeting Praew. But the series should have shown her gradually becoming stronger through that relationship.
It should have shown Min realizing that this love was not just a temporary feeling, and that she would not allow anyone to mock or belittle their relationship. That kind of emotional growth should have been the core of her arc.
Instead, it felt like her relationship with Praew reset from episode to episode. There was very little build-up, and I kept wondering what the story actually wanted to do with her character.
Praew:
Praew was simply not compelling enough. She felt so diluted as a character that there was barely anything left to hold onto.
She should have been an important character who guided Min while also becoming her emotional support. But most of the time, she was just pulled around by Min and left standing on the sidelines.
Conclusion:
I do not know what this director and the other screenwriters have worked on before. But based on this series, I genuinely hope the writing team seriously reconsiders how it approaches scripts like this.
The director clearly has talent when it comes to visuals, editing, and presentation. That is exactly why I think the director should have focused only on the visual side instead of being involved in the writing. The visual direction had potential, but the script itself was where the series completely fell apart for me.
I had very high expectations for this series. Every GMMTV GL series I had watched before this had a strong story, compelling characters, and a world I could truly become invested in. Pluto, in particular, is one of my all-time favorite dramas. That is exactly why my disappointment and anger toward Girl Rules reached their peak.
With a cast and production team this strong, this series could have been something great. Instead, it became one of the most disappointing series I have ever watched.

On a superficial level one can watch Girl Rules for its lesbian ensemble with three different couples executing the tropes of the ex that came back, friends with benefits and the classic, straight as a circle, respectively. That in itself is enjoyable. But to truly get the most out of this series you have to let Bambi get under your skin, Prim on your nerves, MinPraew set your lacrimals sobbing, ShashaGorya into your very soul and understanding into your heart.
They will foreplay you and set you up for emotional upheavals that will mess up your week till you get your fix which only comes with playing the next episode, which is why I turned in every week and that's a lot from me because I have the attention span of not one but two goldfishes!
The three different couples are on their own journeys and at any point of time you will have three different dynamics on screen: the familiarity of Prim Bambi on their second chance romance navigating–and hopefully fixing–things that went wrong last time; you will have the avoidant player Shasha as she falls in love with the only selfless goodness in her life and lastly you'll find the exploratory happiness of Min as she is led by Praew out of a violent relationship.
By the time the show enters it's last quarter, the viewer might sit up, like me, and proclaim, "when does this sadness end?" You might wonder EXACTLY WHEN did this series with it's retro punk cover and suggestive theumbnails, bypass the boundaries of NC scenes, sexy fluff and promised toxicity into something real and throbbing in your chest. You will find the seemingly bitchy lesbian breaking down in bipolar swings and survivor's guilt. Instead of a straightforward love story, you might find gay circles of codependency and regret. The portrayal of dysfunctional families, intimate partner violence, suicidal ideation and the general struggles in the life of a woman might hit too close to home.
But this is a spring of hope and redemption too. It is the story of girls who lived horrors, fought them and the girls who helped them out of it. I love that although P'Jojo has directed the gay versions of these shows before, the creators have worked in the authentic women's experience into the series and instead of dwelling on the issues they focussed on how they came out of it. I thank him for his portrayal of the sapphic experience.
In the first three episodes I was the strongest critique of Girl Rules, i brought up it's editing issues the problems in sets and the likes but the by gods did it improve and it came back with a vengeance, the chokehold the rest of the show had on me was delightful. So i beg future viewers to give this show a chance beyond the first three episodes. The well paced presentation of story with respect to each and every storyline was the maintained throughout the show and it helped flesh out all the characters as and when needed.

Imagine waiting 2 years to end up with this
First of all, editing is horrible. The sound quality does not exist. OST is unlistenable - intro was probably made by a child instead of grown-up producers. Story doesn’t make sense. It was interesting at first but all those fights over nothing became so boring. Characters are impossible to like maybe except for Gorya. I also didnt couples’ storyline. Actresses who played amazingly in Pluto had to become a couple in this show out of nowhere. Useless drama doesnt make it better though. Wasted lot of time watching it, I could’ve spent it on GL dramas like Clairebell or Hometown romance. I’m so disappointed. I was excited about the cast but the whole drama was probably made by some wattpad writters in their 10sWas this review helpful to you?

Disappointed
I'm very disappointed in the storyline. I hope these actresses never accept another project from this director. Though we enjoyed watching the series solely because of the actresses, I hope the director realizes the caliber of talent he’s working with. They deserve much better than this boring story. Please don't manage artists if you can't do it properly. 👎🏻Was this review helpful to you?
GREAT IDEA, BAD EXECUTION
Im sure everyone had high expectations for this one. Honestly the girls were really good and thats the only thing that makes this series actually watchable. If it weren't for the cast this show would be a total flop from gmmtv. Messy plots, no character development and non existent budget. The production team did a terrible job basically with everything and its a shame because it could have been one of the greatest gls with that cast. Ending was good tho, glad this is over. Was this review helpful to you?
No peace, no quiet ever in L Word-wannabe
Why do I get the feeling that GIRL RULES' mantra is "When I grow up, I wanna be L Word"?GIRL RULES is proving how difficult it is to pull off a good series with an ensemble cast, with many layers of stories among them: Every episode feels like hit-and-miss chaos.... But, wait! This might be deliberate. Perhaps, THIS is the impression/effect that the writing/directing team wants to leave with viewers? Just saying that this topsy-turvy of a seafood boil turmoil still tries to make sense. Even if GIRL RULES feels like one giant acting workshop for the cast that's preparing for each of their own MilkLove-NamtanFilm-ViewMim future couple projects....
I was just about to finish watching GIRL RULES Ep 10 and write, "Finally! A peaceful GR episode where everything's hunky-dory and everyone's😊happy😁" But no! Yikes, Sasha's witch of a mother appears outta nowhere (hey, isn't that the same Mother So Vile of Ranya in SHADOW OF LOVE?) and Bambi's acting krungkrung again! And Prim and Min are actually fighting. Haha haha haha haha haha
No peace and quiet evvvver on the GIRL RULES front?!?
P.S. But I'm happy that SashaGorya is now official😁🥳❤️🥰😍😘
All THE BESTS about GIRL RULES:
Best Episode - Finale ep! Finally, everyone looks happy in ep 12 - Even Sasha's shameless money-grabber of a mother😂😆
Best Song - Emi's FOREVER YOURS and that KrisBaipor moment For The Win🥰
Best Friendship - The sickest, most whacko, yet most sincere Gorya-Bambi frenemies dynamic! Insane!!
Best Wish - Bambi's latest entry in her bucket list, with the most willing participant Prim😏😊
Best Final Pose - THAT. FREAKIN'. LAST. SHOT! A great homage to the classic sapphic reference, L Word.
All in all, after 12 episodes, GIRL RULES still ruled! All credit goes to MilkLove, NamtanFilm, and ViewMim - How these six amazing actresses managed to hold together something so frayed at the edges that the show was about to unravel any time; how they figured out how to keep things going so it would still end as a resounding success - WILL FOREVER REMAIN AS ONE OF THAI GL'S ASTOUNDING MYSTERIES🤔🤯
GIRL RULES will go down in history as the show that gave its audience the worst migraines - AND THE BIGGEST SMILES! 😊😁 Congratulations, GIRL RULES, you are loved (and their final episode aired on the first day of 🏳️🌈 month🥳).🌈❤️💯🇹🇭🌈

i absolutely love this series
Im absolutely in LOVE with BAMBI!I mean look at those expressions.. and i must say.. Film is doing an amazing job here.. lovvveee her acting..
Milk was a very perfect cast for Shasha.. she can really pull of those baddie vibes with all the girly-ness.. and the girl-boss vibes.. it's wonderful..
Mim looks soo gorgueos in her outfits like awww !! 🥺🥺✨✨
overall.. just 2 eps have been out.. loving this so far..
edit- (after finishing epi 4)
okay, a very unpopular opinion here (i really thought most ppl felt it this way.. but seeing the comments ig im the only one 😭)
this is just a personal view to the primbambi relationship dynamic (we all have different lives of our own, so it is only natural to view such a dynamic in various ways..)
to me, prim and bambi are like soulmates, who have been together for a very long time, and loved each other so deeply.. they been everything to each other.. to a point.. where they literally know each other more than everyone else..
the breakup was just a break from the relationship, both of them couldnt get over, it happened for no reason (i mean ,they both didnot have a fight.. it was an unexplained breakup.. which might be bcz of bambi's mental health )..
bambi is someone very much outgoing, playful, but we do not see her being overly extroverted (being surrounded by too many friends or clingy exes).. even though she is such a sassy character.. up until now, we've only seen how prim's literally her whole world... well, this might mean nothing.. to a lot of you, but i dont know why, this "u're my whole world" kinda love, is always my favourite..
prim, is more of an introverted person, but she is always having ppl around her, she has a bestie, Min (bambi doesnt even have a best frnd).. people like her in the office too.. but she is rather introverted, and it is clear how prim is the most comfy only around bambi.. yeah she can go on with her life, without bambi too.. but that's soo black-and-white for her.. bambi literally "completes" her life.. making it so much more colorful..
i dont know.. why a lot of people are feeling the chemistry is off.. (well, ofc all of us wont have the same povs).. but i feel they have the deepest chemistry here.. being there for each other..
i would like to talk a little bit.. about the issues i saw while reading the comments..
1. bambi's behaviour getting forgiven- well, personally i think, she isnt rude at all.. she's just playful and cute with her gf, who is introverted and loves bambi the way she is.. as an introvert myself, i can confirm, we love these
2. bambi announcing the relationship without talking to prim- umm, werent they almost girlfrnds the whole time? they both cldnt get over, and talked about this, we have seen prim saying in a previous epi "dont get too ahead of urself, im just giving u a chance" (or smtg similar).. which may indicate prim not identifying as bambi's gf.. but i think it was just a cute surprise thingy bambi did for her lover (no hate for this )
3. bambi disappearing- wlw relationships, are always very diff.. someone who has never been in one can never imagine how it is.. they can never understand .. how much an emotional break can mean to someone who needs it really badly.. and i blv.. bambi had her reasons.. she has deep trauma.. and the fact i love the most about her is, the way she never tries any sort of victim card. even though she is this sick.. love her..
so yeah, just my personal views.. feel free to correct me if im wrong somewhere
edit- (after completing ep 8)
this episode healed me in so many ways..
i just cant appreciate enough.. HOW ACCURATELY THIS SHOW IS PORTRAYING WLW RELATIONSHIPS!
idk if others are noticing the details as well..
yall saw how prim talked to bambi whn she found out about her father and bambi's convo? doesnt that shatter ur heart?
they way Min told Praew that she's "alone", in a way, no one should have.. and regretted on spot?
yes that's what happens in wlw .. things are so hard to accept..
these were just 2 little examples.. i am LOVING this show for these raw, real, deep, underrated details.. in a kinda non-serious show.. i never expected to see these truths in a show like this one..
JUST AMAZING-

The worst Thai GL series GMMTV has ever made.
GMMTV wasted the acting talent and beauty of six actresses. It tried to present too many themes, but the execution was poor. The ensemble drama felt extremely messy, like they were filming whatever came to mind in a dream. The editing was terrible, constantly interrupting the viewers’ emotions. The story was chaotic, and the plot twists felt forced.
PrimBambi kept breaking up and getting back together emotionally over and over again. From beginning to end, they lacked effective communication and resolution. The plot kept going in circles, making it exhausting to watch.
Among the three CPs, the ShashaGorya storyline was the most interesting. But in EP8, their relationship had clearly improved and they were about to seriously fall in love, yet in EP9 they suddenly treated each other harshly again for no apparent reason. I heard the screenwriter was changed later on, so the plot became inconsistent.
The MimPreaw storyline portrayed the situation of a straight girl being “turned gay,” but it was not compelling or deep enough.

What infuriates me isn't that it's a bad story, but the amount of wasted potential.
We thought the stain on NamtanFilm's career would be Her, but it turned out to be Girl Rules. It's honestly embarrassing to see actresses of their caliber—and by that, I mean practically the entire cast—stuck with characters that are so shallow, emotionless, underdeveloped, and devoid of passion, trapped in a story that adds absolutely nothing to the viewer's experience.
Even the only two characters who received the bare minimum of development end up falling flat: one feels like a rehash of the actress's previous roles (Shasha), while the other ends up exactly where she started despite several weak attempts at growth (Bambi).
Out of the three main couples, one got screen time (PrimBambi), another got actual development (ShashaGorya), and the third was MinPraew. By the end of the series, only one of these couples truly felt like they should have ended up together.
Out of the six protagonists, two have actual storylines (Shasha & Bambi), two have something that vaguely resembles a character arc (Prim & Min), and the other two exist solely as someone's girlfriends, completely defined by that role (Gorya and Praew).
The entire concept of partner-swapping that was used to promote the series was also wasted. In the end, all we got was an interrupted kiss and a cheating storyline that served only to turn the audience against the characters, since the script completely ignored it and never addressed it in way.
Girl Rules failed so badly at developing its protagonists that the real highlights of the show ended up being the guest characters and actresses. And that's not because the leads did a poor job. On the contrary—they managed to squeeze remarkable performances out of remarkably poor material.
I genuinely feel sorry for the people who waited since 2024 to watch a production that feels like it was written in a month and released without a second draft of the script. Girl Rules should have ended at the pilot stage.
Rating: utter contempt.
