Ticket to Heaven Episode 1 Reactions
Honestly, the wait was so worth it! In each scene, we can literally feel the effort and thought put in to it by the cast and the team. Also the ending of the episode, with the two of them slowly getting closer in the darkness of the night, but with the morning light, there comes the fear of judgement, accurately portrayed by how the rest of them were looking down on them while the two of them genuinely looks anxious😭

The opening its shows that its going to be an open ending but there are that open endings are better but we have no idea how its going to end. But the cinematography, bgm, acting, dialogues and storyline are very promising. Gemini nailed the first ep we could clearly see the pain in his eyes. And fourth goddddd he looks divine P'aof has done a good job and will do better in next eps

It's rare for a series to open with the news that LGBTQ+ has been legalized, creating an interesting conclusion in the first few seconds. It turns out that this drama has a flashback plot, where the main character remembers the times 20 years ago when he was still a student. In this first episode there is not much interaction between BarthTanrak, because this episode is only to introduce all the characters in Ticket To Heaven. What a great start, I can't wait to watch all the episodes

*Ticket to Heaven* Episode 1 is a powerful and emotionally gripping start. The episode beautifully introduces Barth and Tanrak's world, balancing themes of faith, identity, and forbidden love with remarkable sensitivity. The chemistry between Norawit Titicharoenrak and Nattawat Jirochtikul feels natural and intense, even in their quietest moments. The cinematography, atmosphere, and performances create a sense of longing and tension that immediately draws viewers in. By the end, you're left emotionally invested and eager to see how their journey unfolds.

I understand why Barth doesn't have enough faith to God anymore. He is so damn pitiful 😭😭😭 I feel like hugging him. He is not a troubled kid, he is a kid in trouble. He doesn't choose to be bullied or being outed. I get his skeptism about the world. Give you a little virtual hug 🫂

For this first episode, I’m glad I’ve read the book, for the timeline of things took places’ explained in themBut other than that, this is a work of artTanrak, an orphan at a very young age, raised in a seminaryI think his eyes seems sad and hollow sometimesThe faith and boundaries fullfilling his maturing process but to whom shall he confide his inner child?

"Ticket to Heaven is one of the most emotionally powerful series I've watched. The story beautifully explores faith, love, and personal struggles in a way that feels raw and realistic. Gemini and Fourth delivered outstanding performances, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters. The cinematography, music, and emotional storytelling make every scene impactful. It's heartbreaking, thought-provoking, and impossible to forget

Have been so excited to watch this for so long and I just really hope they do justice to the heavy message behind the story. Everything so far has been good, a solid 9/10 episode, the shots are beautiful, did notice a few weird cuts and zoom-ins which felt unnecessary. Overall a good first ep.

From the trailers, it seemed that Barth would be rebellious, but I assumed (and maybe this was my fault) that he was someone trying not to conform and not someone who’s hurt by the system that he only knows to respond in anger as a way to protect himself. This episode made me realize that he was like a cornered animal that learned the only way it can protect itself is by fighting first. That’s why he holds eye contact uncomfortably long, to intimidate the other person from even attempting to hurt him, preparing himself for the worst. At the end of the episode, when he realizes that Tanrak is trying to help him and he seems too naive to have an ulterior motive, he finally relaxes, and you can see the tension seep out of him in the pool. The trailer focused a lot more on Tanrak’s conflict with religion and sexuality as it’s the main conflict to their romance, but I didn’t once think that Barth would be someone who was also once like Tanrak. This adds another layer to their conflict because Barth is at a different point in his journey and has chosen to no longer believe in God, so what will Tanrak do? That’s why Barth more than anyone understands Tanrak, yet will still choose to love and fight for their love which will make their journey all the more painful as Tanrak conflicts between his love for Barth and his “Ticket to Heaven.” I also did not expect that Tanrak would already be questioning his faith. He asks Kongdech, “Are the people from your village all Catholic?” Meaning if they’re all such good-natured people, who help Kongdech’s mom, is it *because* they are Catholic? Do you need to be religious to be a good person? Don’t good people deserve to go to heaven regardless? You can sense his resignation as he then says that this is his best option as well. Kongdech doesn’t have a choice because his family is so poor; for Tanrak, he was orphaned at such a young age and was taken in by the church. Another surprise is that Tanrak is already aware of his sexuality. The scene where the young student was being bullied and getting called homophobic slurs by Kongkit, Tanrak did not intervene, knowing that Kongkit followed his lead as the Head Scholarship student. It seemed as if he felt this fear, that if he intervened, the others would automatically be able to tell that he was gay. That final scene cemented it for me because both he and Barth were panicking as if the fact that they slept next to each other would immediately show everyone their sexuality. They’re both paranoid of being discovered and also hyper-aware of the interest toward the other.

Honestly, having a voice on the radio announce that gay marriage has been legalized is one of the strongest way to open a drama centered in religion, a bl drama at that. Nothing deep has occured yet, but an impact has been created. The characters do not have many dialogues, but the story's cinematography and the actors' acting speaks up for it. I truly can't wait to see how they will adapt the novel into reality. As someone who has read the novel, I can't imagine anyone portraying barthtanrak other than geminifourth. This was made for them.

THIS OST IS CRAZY. The choir version gives me flashbacks of when I used to sing in the choir as a child. It's one of the things that kept my faith strong at the time.I love the direction that the plot is going in, I'm guessing there's more behind Barth and why he joined the school.I'm keen to see how Tanrak will navigate this nerve wrecking, but beautiful discovery.I'm very impressed GMMTV. Once again I love the post, my Spotify wrapped is in danger!

Cinematography, chemistry, make-up, and acting are perfect. Both Gemini and Fourth have proven once again that they can act. This time their characters are very different from their usual roles. I liked the build up of the story at the very beginning.

Nothing deep YET in this episode but the intro hooked me up to watch more. All the characters are introduced in the first episode so the progress in the next episode will be smooth. The main characters acting are top notch if you know them you will see how well they carry their respective characters in this drama. Looking forward to next episode.

Ticket to Heaven Episode 1 immediately establishes itself as a series that understands the power of visual storytelling. From its opening moments to its final scene, every frame feels intentional, carrying meanings that go far beyond what is spoken aloud.
What makes the premiere particularly impressive is how it already lays the foundation for the central conflict and relationship of the story. One of the most striking scenes is when Tanrak closes the church doors to shield the sanctuary from the raging storm outside. At that exact moment, Barth arrives. The timing feels far too deliberate to be a coincidence. It subtly introduces Barth as the "storm" that will enter Tanrak's carefully ordered life—a life built upon certainty, devotion, and unwavering faith. Barth's arrival disrupts that peace, much like the storm outside disrupts the calm of the evening.
Yet the episode does not stop there. Shortly after, the Crucifix nearly falls, and it is Barth who instinctively steps forward to help Tanrak steady it. This moment is layered with symbolism. The Crucifix, representing faith, is something deeply rooted in Tanrak's identity. While Barth may initially appear as the source of disruption in Tanrak's life, the scene suggests that he may also become the very person who helps Tanrak carry the weight of his struggles. The symbolism beautifully hints at the duality of Barth's role: he is both the challenge that shakes Tanrak's world and the person who may stand beside him when that world begins to tremble.
The Cross itself becomes one of the most meaningful symbols in the episode. It is the reason Barth and Tanrak physically come together as they hold it upright, creating a visual representation of faith bringing them closer. At the same time, the Cross may also foreshadow the internal and external conflicts their relationship will face. The very thing that unites them could eventually become the source of their greatest struggle.
Another strength of the episode is how effortlessly it showcases the chemistry between Gemini and Fourth. Despite having only a few conversations together, they make every interaction feel meaningful. A subtle smile, a lingering glance, a brief exchange of words—these small moments carry an undeniable warmth that immediately draws viewers into Barth and Tanrak's connection. Their chemistry does not rely on grand romantic gestures; instead, it shines through natural expressions and quiet moments that feel genuine and unforced. Even in the earliest stages of their relationship, Gemini and Fourth create a dynamic that feels believable, making it easy to understand why these characters would gravitate toward one another.
The episode's structure is equally powerful. It opens with the passing of the Marriage Equality Law, a moment symbolizing hope, progress, and the possibility of acceptance. Yet it closes with Barth and Tanrak standing together while those around them begin to judge and scrutinize them. This parallel creates a striking contrast between legal recognition and social acceptance. The message is clear: while laws can change overnight, people's hearts often take much longer to do the same.
The cinematography deserves special praise. Every shot feels purposeful, every camera angle carefully chosen to communicate emotions and themes beyond dialogue. The visual language of the episode allows viewers to uncover deeper meanings hidden beneath seemingly simple interactions. Rather than merely telling a story, the series invites its audience to interpret and reflect on it.
The acting further strengthens the narrative. Gemini and Fourth deliver performances filled with sincerity and emotional nuance, while the supporting cast helps establish the social and religious environment that shapes the story. Their portrayals make the characters feel human—flawed, conflicted, and deeply relatable.
For a first episode, Ticket to Heaven does an exceptional job of introducing its themes, characters, and central conflict while trusting its audience to recognize the symbolism woven throughout the story. It is a premiere filled with thoughtful visual metaphors, compelling performances, and meaningful storytelling. More importantly, it successfully establishes what appears to be the heart of the series: a love story where faith is not simply a backdrop, but a force that both connects and challenges the people caught within it. Through its symbolism, cinematography, performances, and the effortless chemistry between Gemini and Fourth, Episode 1 proves that Ticket to Heaven is not only telling a love story—it is telling one that dares to explore the complicated space where faith, identity, and love intersect.

As of now, Episode 1 of Ticket to Heaven has completely pulled me in. The atmosphere felt heavy yet beautiful, and every scene carried so much emotion. Gemini and Fourth delivered such nuanced performances that even the quietest moments spoke volumes. Their chemistry was subtle but undeniable—you could feel every glance, every hesitation, and every unspoken feeling. What struck me the most was how the story explored faith, doubt, and love with such sincerity and depth. By the end of the episode, I found myself deeply invested in Barth and Tanrak's journey. It's a heartbreaking yet incredibly promising start that left me emotional and counting the days until the next episode." ❤️✨

After Ep 1, the story seems to revolve mainly around a delinquent teenager and his personal background. This leaves me wondering: is Ticket to Heaven no longer about a devoted child of God wrestling with faith, doubt, and religious expectations?
Fourth's acting is outstanding. His micro-expressions convey so much emotion, and honestly, if I were rating his performance alone, I would gladly give it five stars. Ashi and Pun also deliver excellent performances and add a great deal of depth to the episode. I love them so much.
My issue is with the direction of the story. The title and promotional materials led me to expect a narrative centered on faith, inner conflict, and spiritual struggle. Instead, the first episode focuses heavily on a rebellious teenager's life, making the premise feel quite different from what was initially advertised.
At this point, I'm not sure whether the series is actually about a troubled youth finding redemption and returning to God in order to earn his "ticket to heaven." If that's the case, then the title still makes sense, but it is also a very different story from the one I thought I was signing up for.
There is still some hope, though. The final scene suggests that Tanrak is beginning to experience feelings of guilt, which could be the first sign of the deeper internal and spiritual conflict I was expecting from the series. I'll continue watching because it's only the first episode, and there is still plenty of room for the plot to develop. However, my first impression is that the story has drifted away from the premise that initially drew me in.

The first episode started pretty good. Things went by a bit fast for me but I saw people say that it really is like that in the novel. I understand that things are fast-paced in the novel but I'm hoping that the director and post-prod would take creative liberty to make the transition of each scene a bit more seamlessly. Apart from that, the acting and chemistry between the lead actors Gemini and Fourth really make up for everything. Solid start. I can't want for the next episodes.

only ep 1 but i already really love gemini acting. he improved so much. i dont even see “gemini” in barth, he fully becomes the character. i just want to hug barth, he so pitiful 😭 some ppl say he red flag but i dont see it that way, i think he just a kid who is disappointed in life after hoping and believing so much. “my God is not as good as your God.” that line hits hard. cant wait for barthtanrak’s development in ep 2
