Human rights lawyer Chueh Pei Ying receives a request from a mysterious client to purchase the dilapidated Tseng manor far above asking price. After effortlessly obtaining the property, Pei Ying is approached by a mother and daughter, Chu Mei and Su Min respectively, to gift the deed of the property to them; as they are descendants of the Tseng family and the rightful owners. After initially reproaching them, the mysterious client is curious as to the claims of the two women and asks Pei Ying to investigate.
