The Love Did Set
Indeed, there is much to unpack in this series. Unfortunately, rather than trying to deal with it with any cornerstone to reality, they choose to deal with it in the make-believe world of BL. One can guess what the direction is going to be and indeed you would be correct. It is your standard use of tropey storylines. The story tries too hard to cover too much and fails in almost all of it. Through all of this, redemption does happen. While there are certainly redemptive arcs in the storyline, to get there requires twisted logic and implausible plot twists. Plus, the angry rich father who then ‘sees the light’ and/or rejected mother who begs for forgiveness routines are getting way over used and are now officially trite. Each one of those redemption arcs required and should have had a whole episode in and of itself. Regrettably, there is also no serious screen chemistry between the protagonists although they ‘look’ good together. One cannot act out sincerity; it must be felt. It needs to come out of the screen and grab you. Unfortunately, those two lacked a passion in their relationship. They only went through courting motions. Was this review helpful to you?
Messy plot, flat chemistry, uneven romance
I ended up being a bit of a struggle for me. The plot was messy and confusing for most of the story, with pacing that didn’t quite hold together. I couldn’t really enjoy the chemistry between the leads, which made the romance feel flat at times.A few emotional beats worked, but overall it didn’t leave much of an impression.

A really important message!
This is a series that requires an open mind. On one hand, we have JaTae working together for the first time, which demands a significant investment of work, dedication, and commitment from the actors. Added to that is the story's backdrop, which deals with such a difficult subject matter. I think that, obviously, although there are flaws, as in any production, it was an excellent job by the entire production team. From my personal perspective, it would have been desirable to see Ja's character confronting his father from a much earlier stage in the series, but as the plot progressed, I had to remind myself how different the staging of Asian productions is compared to the rest of the world. In Asia, respect for parents is sometimes portrayed so deeply that even the worst treatment doesn't provoke confrontations from children towards their parents. I found the portrayal of JaTae's characters in the short film within the series wonderful (and I cried a lot). It conveys an important message. Was this review helpful to you?
The Love Never Sets — A Story Carried by Genuine Chemistry
The Love Never Sets is one of those BL dramas that doesn’t try to reinvent the genre but still manages to leave a strong impression because of how sincere it feels. The story itself is quite classic in its structure — relationships, misunderstandings, personal struggles, and emotional growth — but the way the characters interact with each other gives the whole drama a warmth that makes it very easy to watch. It’s the kind of series where the emotional tone matters more than shocking twists, and that’s exactly why it works so well. I’ve liked Ja Phachara since Don’t Say No, and here he proves again why he’s such an enjoyable actor to watch. He has a very particular presence on screen. He’s extremely handsome with an incredible body, yet somehow still has that boyish look that makes him seem younger than he actually is. At 27 he still looks like a kid, which is honestly impressive. What I like about him is that he brings a natural charm to his roles. Even when his character is emotional or conflicted, he never feels overly dramatic. Tae Weerapat impressed me even more because this is his first leading role, and he handled it surprisingly well. Stepping into a main role in a BL drama can be intimidating, especially when you are paired with someone who already has experience and a fanbase. But Tae managed to create a very believable character. His connection with Ja felt natural and comfortable, which is probably the most important thing in a BL. Even though Ja gives off a very straight vibe in real life, their chemistry doesn’t feel forced at all. Their scenes together feel genuine, which makes the romance easy to believe. The story itself moves at a good pace and focuses a lot on emotional moments between the characters rather than relying on dramatic plot twists. I liked that the relationships were allowed to develop through small interactions, conversations, and shared experiences. Those quieter scenes are often the ones that make the characters feel real. The drama also balances romance with family relationships and personal growth, which gives the story more depth than a simple love story. The supporting cast deserves a lot of credit as well. The GL couple is actually a really nice addition to the story. Nikita Parkin stands out because she portrays her character in a very natural way. She looks and feels like a real lesbian character rather than a stereotype created just to add diversity to the cast. Her performance is subtle but convincing, and it makes the relationship feel authentic.
Another actress who completely steals the scenes whenever she appears is Ja Molywon. She has been in the industry for about ten years now, and it clearly shows. As a more mature actress, she brings an emotional depth that enriches the entire drama. There are moments where she communicates feelings simply through her expressions, without needing dialogue. That ability to convey emotion quietly is something many actors struggle with, and she does it effortlessly.
The production itself is solid. The music fits the tone of the series even if it isn’t particularly memorable, and the overall atmosphere of the drama stays consistent from beginning to end. The emotional scenes are handled well, allowing the actors to carry the moment instead of relying on exaggerated music or overly dramatic editing.
Final Thought
The Love Never Sets may not be the most groundbreaking BL ever made, but it’s a very satisfying one because everything feels sincere. The chemistry between Ja Phachara and Tae Weerapat works beautifully, the supporting cast adds depth to the story, and the emotional moments feel genuine rather than forced. It’s a drama that understands that sometimes the simplest stories can be the most effective when the performances are strong and the emotions are real.

Acting is required, storyline is diff and nice.
As I said above, everything is good. Production quality, story/plot which is sometimes too heavy to take in but at least different from all other BLs, it is slow lile other Thai BLs but at leaat adds something to the plot, direction and dialogues are very smart, artsy drama with understanding of characters and acting.. But, unfortunately, the main leads just couldn't act and their chemistry was just not there.Idk why but Ja is so good looking, such an eye candy, so tall.. But he just couldn't act in the series. Gosh, it all felt so fake. There was no tension. The actors really need to step up their game. Tae was still better and even understandable but Ja was too stiff, lacklustre, no body language, nothing... Really needs work. Direction could be better also. With better actors, this story could have reached more people, maybe.

What do you think?
i like it and hate it1) ice didnt act well at the first 5 episodes. Idk if he did it on purpose but it didnt look believable at all. Saint was great from start to finish
2) the side couples (wxw, bxb) are cringe to the point i had to skip their scenes. Especially the two guys, the acting is bad, the "jealous" scenes look forced, their eye contact insufferable.
3) the crazy ex and the professor? im traumatised, it went on for so long and the "reactions to their actions" felt rushed at the end eg when the professor was caught in the moment. Even saint's dad was against them the whole time and on the 13th episode he said hmm okay (????)
4) the music is great as it is in most bls
the ending was better than most of the episodes, but i doubt i will rewatch this ever again

Long paragraph, but you must read this if you’re planning to watch it.
When this drama started, I honestly thought it would explore the idea that people working in the adult industry are no different from others that they’re normal individuals with their own emotions and lives. However, as the story progressed, it shifted focus and portrayed the male lead entering the adult film industry mainly due to depression and unresolved trauma from past sexual violence.Unfortunately, the execution falls short. The storyline feels weak, with several loopholes and a lack of depth in the narrative. Character development is almost nonexistent, making it hard to connect with most of the cast.
The drama tries to juggle three different storylines, but only Lanlee and Sea’s arc feels engaging and worth watching. The rest lack emotional impact and proper buildup.
The hate to love dynamic, especially with the shared room trope and emotional scenes like crying during sleep, feels overly familiar. In fact, episode 1 strongly reminded me of "TharnType*" almost as if it was trying to recreate the same formula but without the same intensity or execution.
Overall, the plot feels repetitive and underdeveloped, which makes it hard to stay invested despite its potentially meaningful themes. All love to the entire cast, but this series and its plot could have been much better.

Strong side BL and GL Couple
I know this is a first go for JaTae and I did appreciate seeing their potential in the series. I hope as time goes on they will grow in their comfortableness. My excitement in watching the series was DomonAtom as the side couple. Both fairly new to BL and it did not show at all. Their chemistry was very good, they played of each others characters well and it always left me wanting more in anticipation of the next episode. The GL Couple of NikitaJaja were so good!! They are so well suited and I will need to see them in a lead role with their own series. This was Tae's first lead BL role and it is some big shoes to fill with partnering with Ja, like I said I hope they can continue to work on their comfortability with each other.

Not as bad as some people said. It's not perfect but solid.
Honestly it was not bad. I do wish Tae was a better actor but he wasn't terrible. Gotta work on his emotional scenes more. He is a little worse than LIA Peat. But at least it wasn't too loud. Speak loud doesn't equal emotion. I say this but I still want another JaTae drama. though I am not hopeful but I want it. I thought the chemistry was good. As for the story the people that are supposed to piss you off do. The Leads aren't perfect. Ice's trauma response is accurate. I want another drama with them though, I truly do.Was this review helpful to you?
WAS GOOD BUT KIND OF BORING
To be honest, the plot was actually quite good. It effectively showed how blackmail can seriously affect people’s lives, especially those who have experienced it firsthand. That aspect of the story felt meaningful and relevant, which I appreciated. However, there were moments where the pacing didn’t work well. Some episodes felt unnecessary, almost like they were just added to stretch the story longer than it needed to be. I don’t really understand why it had to reach 13 episodes, because the main storyline could have been delivered in fewer episodes without losing its impact. The first few episodes already showed some of the couples developing feelings, it started to feel dragged out, and some parts became a bit boring.
I was also a bit confused about how the Sea and Lanee developed their feelings for each other so quickly. It felt rushed and lacked enough buildup, making it harder to fully understand or connect with their relationship.
As for the acting, there were moments that felt a bit cringe or awkward, with some scenes being hard to watch. Still, despite those flaws, the overall performance was decent and showed potential.
Also, I’d love to see more of Atom and Domon—their chemistry stood out to me, and they definitely deserve more screen time bc i enjoyed their chemistry than the main MC's

Good but not great
I will start this by saying i was very excited for this series as I love Ja as an actor and the storyline was something different than what we usually get. Now I will also continue this by saying that begging of the series and the end of it feel like 2 very different quality series...The beginning of the series was something I actually enjoyed watching, it was interesting and the chemistry between Ja and Tae was AMAZING. Unfortunately that didn't last... the moment their characters got in a relationship that chemistry was nowhere to be seen....
Tae is not ready to be a main character and his kiss scenes were horror show. For goodness sake your partner was Ja THE JA the one who knows how to kiss, who isn't shy to kiss his partner!! The kiss scenes left me frustrated because of Tae and his lack of reciprocation during them. Genuinely hope he stops accepting roles until he doesn't get comfortable with kissing other people.
Next couple. The girls. In all honesty I skipped them... I tried to give them a chance but the plot was not something in enjoyed that beginning of their relationship felt so rushed to me that I just couldn't get pass it.
Finally MudBook the only couple that had good chemistry from start to finish and weren't shy around each other. The plot of their relationship was also good but I do love some level of toxicity in relationships.
All in all I was left disappointed especially when Ice and Saint decided to give that person a chance. Warm was supposed to be left in past, forgotten and not forgiven. I was rooting for this series, but not everyone deserves a happy ending. A good watch, but definitely won't be rewatching it.
I also do love the OST.
