A Variety Show That Felt Like a Healing Retreat
I went into watching Jae Suk's B&B Rules expecting a lighthearted variety show, but it ended up being something far more emotional and memorable. The concept itself is simple, around 20 non-celebrity guests from completely different walks of life spend 2 nights and 3 days with the celebrity hosts — Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Ye-eun, Byeon Woo-seok, and Lee Kwang-soo — playing games, talking, and simply spending time together. One of my favorite parts of the show was the rule that nobody reveals their age or profession on the first day. Watching everyone try to guess each other’s jobs based on their personalities and behavior was funny. The profession reveal became the highlight for me, so many of the guests had fascinating careers , and it was interesting seeing them first as ordinary people rather than what they do for work.
What really made the show special was how emotionally sincere it felt. I laughed a lot, but I also found myself tearing up. Every guest arrived with their own story and the atmosphere of the show allowed those emotions to surface naturally.
Another aspect I loved was the way the hosts and guests expressed their feelings toward one another. The messages they shared about their time together and their hopes for each other’s futures were written and spoken so beautifully that it was almost poetic. I will definitely go back to watch the show to note down these words.
I binged the entire show in one day, and when it ended, I was left with that strange emotional emptiness usually reserved for finishing a great book or an unforgettable drama. Very few shows leave me sitting in that kind of emotional limbo afterward, but this one definitely did.

Watched this thinking it's just all fun and laughter but ended up crying a few times
This is my first time to write a review here on MyDramaList just because I loved this show so much!! 🥹As a big fan of YooLee (Yoo Jaesuk & Lee Kwangsoo ~ l've watched every show they did together), I already knew I'd like this show! They are always fun to watch and they truly are my fave people on variety shows. I missed this tandem so much so I was really looking forward to this. I knew this would be chaotic and funny but I didn't think I'd cry watching this but I did... lots of times even! HAHA you have to see for yourself!! There were no dull moments for me so I finished this really quick!
The casts/staff have great chemistry here! I'm so glad to see Wooseok being comfortable with YooLee (I wasn't expecting it tbh 😆) and I already liked Yeeun from Running Man. I knew she sees Kwangsoo as her role model so I'm happy for her that she got to work with Kwangsoo on a variety show. Well done with the casting - though I did wish there was an actual cook between them cause I knew they would be struggling if not (I also felt bad cause they had no time to rest, they were just so busy~ Even I felt tired just by watching them 😭) but they still did so well!! I am so happy to see Hyori & Sangsoon as well!!
But what made this show truly special were the guests!! They are all amazing and lovely people, the team behind this did really well in choosing them. Love the concept where they don't reveal their jobs at the start and they're just simply being themselves, goofing around and having fun together! I almost felt like I was together with them during their stay in the B&B cause I also felt sad when it's nearing the time they need to leave. I also cried with them whenever they did :(( I'm currently re-watching it and it's more exciting now that I'm more familiar with them.

I loved all the guests, especially the Byeon Woo-Seok fanclub 😂😂😂 The weightlifting fairies! They were soooo cuteeee!!! I could totally relate!

Please bring us more of B&B Jae-seok Rules!
I am writing from Italy to share how deeply this show has touched my heart. I have laughed, played, and cried along with the cast and the guests. From afar, I felt every emotion, and I truly admired the constant commitment and genuine care shown by Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Kwang-soo, and Byeon Woo-seok to make everyone feel at home. Seeing the guests leave the B&B full of happy memories, regardless of the challenges in their own lives, is simply incomparable. This show is a breath of fresh air; it brings joy to the participants and helps us viewers reflect on the beauty of the present moment. Please, continue this beautiful journey!
The world needs this kind of warmth and light. Thank you for letting us dream with you. Please, give us a second season!

you are precious to someone <3
do note that this review contains bias because i love yoo jaesuk, lee kwangsoo, ji yeeun and byeon wooseok! the cast itself was the main reason why i enjoyed watching the show <3i was looking forward to jaesuk's bnb rules ever since the casting came out because i love all the cast members, and they did not disappoint me. it can be hard to watch at first because of how chaotic it was, but it surely gets better. it is understandable, as it is their first time handling a bnb. and kudos to them, as i feel like i would not be able to do this without getting tired because i am a low-energy person.
i know there are some comments mentioning that the guests in the first session are more flashy, but i beg to differ because each of them have their own shining points, which makes it more unique. but yeeun's younger brother, donggun, really won the cake for me as he made an impression on all for me. i also loved how they kept it from yeeun, and yeeun handled it professionally lmao- and i was really glad that yeeun was able to proceed with filming despite having thyroid problems, and i am glad that her treatment was successful!
having hyori and her husband, sang-soon from the second session added some professionalism among the chaos. this gave me a huge throwback, as i was a huge fan of family outing, loving the interaction of hyori and jaesuk. so i was so glad to be able to see them interacting and having fun like the old times. and it has been 15 years; that's crazy.
among the guests in the 2nd season, namjin made a lasting impression on me with his backstory. it really broke my heart and i was bawling with them. i really appreciate on how hyori and jaesuk handled the situation by giving him time and saying nothing as if i was placed in the situation, i would try to say something and perhaps make the situation worse.
the dynamics between kwangsoo and wooseok were surprisingly fun to watch. i really enjoy them bickering with each other and kwangsoo being vocal about being jealous that wooseok has all the attention, i mean, he is surely attractive af! i kinda wished they showed more of yeeun because she is just as precious to me as the others, but her doing yoga is so funny and it would be me doing yoga HAHA
when jaesuk gave his last speech on: in your own lives, you're all fighting hard, and sometimes it can feel like a battlefield. but rather than exhausting yourself trying to win every battle, i hope you'll sometimes focus simply on surviving. comfort yourself and protect yourself amid that intensity. it hit me hard because all along we have been told, to win every battle we fought, do not give up; we can do it. even at some point in time, we forgot that we have to survive and protect ourselves to prevent us from crumbling.
overall, jaesuk's bnb rules provided me with a sense of comfort, a sense of home, and made me realised that a variety show can really heal you, provide new perceptive. and jaesuk really hit his goal of making a relaxing bnb where people can forget their problems, their identity that acts as a lock to people, and truly relax themselves here. i hope to attend camp just like this one day <3 + i want a season 2 with all the casts because they are my precious!

Ji Ye-eun traz frescor e muita personalidade.
Ela consegue equilibrar doçura, energia e espontaneidade.
No fim, A Pousada do Jae-seok me deixou aquela sensação deliciosa de coração aquecido.
