Mizusawa Hazuki (35) left her hometown of Mito 17 years ago and has since built a life in the city, raising her five-year-old son Junichiro with her husband Koki while pursuing a career as a furniture designer. However, following her brother’s death, the course of Hazuki’s life begins to shift dramatically. Clashing with her husband Koki and her father Motoharu, Hazuki sets out on a new path—making natto. What was the “happiness” her brother sought in his hometown, so much so that he gave up his job in Tokyo to return? Now immersed once again in the hometown she once left behind, Hazuki struggles on her own, gradually beginning to feel something stirring within her.
