A nice fairy tale with a silly end...

With KBLs we never know if it will be any good, it's mostly a flip of a coin. This series managed to say on the "good" side. While the premise is not unheard of, they did it in a mostly funny way. The most impressive are the MLs switching between their personalities and doing so believable.

The only questionable thing was the romantic part... it was not that convincing and of course the silly end which may disappoint some of you. Also there is the open end of the mother/son relationsship. Production quality was good considering this is a low budget effort, but we also get to enjoy the scenery.

I have not much more to say, I did enjoy this little series, with every episode running between 9 and 12 minutes the commitment is also not very time-consuming. If you need a palete cleanser or variety from all the toxic stuff now airing, this series will do it.

Why I Stayed

Honestly, it wasn't epic but it flowed, trickled at times but ultimately I wanted to see what would trigger the switch at the end. Who knew like all fairytales, it would take falling in love and the kiss. Specifically at twilight for those who want to try.

Yes, it was humorous especially, their attempt with the hairdryer. Desperate times, desperate measures. I enjoyed the flat dead pan delivery and harsh responses of Yun . Cha's wide eyed responses were so innocent, he was no match for Yun's mother. What sealed it for me was when the switches in personalities being instantaneous and they both felt comfortable to deliver in each role. The push ups were hilarious.

It lacked a little something, possibility the sweet moments we normally associate with a light bl like this but it was nice enough. Perfect ending. Homestay appears to have some magical matchmaking capabilities.

Too short!!

I just watched it and i loved it! It was way too short, i wished this was a longer series. The story was good, the visuals were stunning and the music was good.

On FB i saw people commenting how they had trouble with the fact they looked and their own face and then kissed.
You should not look at it as looking at their own face, at those moments they clearly fell for the inner side of the other. So it was more looking at the soul of the other than looking at their face.

The actors were amazing, the way they switched their personalities was perfect! They had great chemistry and very good kisses.

The last minutes are very unnessasary and i wish they had just skipped that, they probably wanted to add an extra funny moment?

I recommend watching this short drama.

Too short for it to become any good

YouTube playlist link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNd7BhdAz80qVJk7itfRXCdPNMTvPAVYd

Things I liked:
1. Funny/silly moments.
2. Side characters.
3. Beautiful views.
4. Good acting.
5. The idea they had for the plot. The whole idea of the main characters switching their bodies was interesting and exciting, but they definitely did not have enough time to make the whole thing actually good.

Things I disliked:
1. Almost no chemistry between the main characters.
2. Everything is happening way to fast due to how short this series is.

Overall it was a nice and funny watch for the most part, but there wasn't much time for the main characters to open up more and have a genuine connection, in my opinion.

Blink and You'll Miss It

Check in to You is one of those series that left me feeling more frustrated than disappointed.
Not because it's bad.
The premise immediately reminded me of stories like Freaky Friday or It's a Boy Girl Thing: two complete opposites forced to live each other's lives after an unexpected body swap. One is cold, distant and perfectionistic, the other warm, romantic and endlessly patient. It's a familiar setup.
I devoured the first five episodes in one sitting.
What I didn't realise was that episode six would also be the last.
That was a frustrating discovery.

The series only runs for six episodes of roughly ten to fifteen minutes each, and while that makes it easy to binge, it also means the story barely has time to breathe. The body-swapping premise is cute, the actors do a good job, and there are moments where you can see the potential for something genuinely charming. But just as I started becoming invested, the series was already over.
That's ultimately my biggest issue with Check in to You. I don't think the concept is the problem, and I don't think the performances are the problem either. I simply don't think there was enough time.
The relationship develops, conflicts appear, emotions are explored, and before any of it can leave a lasting impression, the credits roll. Instead of feeling satisfied, I was left wishing the series had been given room to become more than a sketch of a good idea.
Maybe that's a personal preference. I've realised that this ultra-short format often just isn't for me. Some of these productions have genuinely creative concepts and surprisingly strong performances, but more often than not I walk away feeling like I've watched the outline of a story rather than the story itself.
And yet, I don't want to complain too much. I'm still glad these kinds of projects exist. I'd rather have creators experimenting with smaller productions and unusual ideas than not have these stories told at all.

sweet, but needed more screentime

Overall: it was fun and cute, but it needed more time to focus on the relationship development. 6 episodes about 9 minutes each. Aired on Strongberry's YouTube page https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNd7BhdAz80qVJk7itfRXCdPNMTvPAVYd&si=HqUFijGa3bBUinWZ and GagaOOLala https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/7586/check-in-to-you-2026-e01

Content Warning: vomiting episode 1 around 7:45

What I Liked
- easy to understand premise
- opposite personalities
- actors did a fantastic job to switch to the other personality
- sweet moments

Room For Improvement
- most of the plot was them living in a different body, they needed more time to develop their relationship especially after they switched (because I kept thinking how odd it would be to be romantic with my own body...)

this is hilarious!

i was quite hesitant about watching this, since the poster seems pretty unimpressive, and the ratings at the moment (7.2) aren't the best either. but i decided to give it a shot, considering this is a very short commitment. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this!

the plot doesn't feel rushed or incomplete even though the episodes are incredibly short. the production quality and cinematography is amazing.

and the best part about this is the actors! the way the actors did a complete 180 once their bodies swapped, acting exactly like their counterparts are supposed to act, absolutely incredible!

I'd say you should give it a watch it you're looking for something short and funny to watch💕

Untapped potential for a longer story

Soul connection is the cure for a body swap.

This is another short but charming mini-series with enough potential to be developed into a full-length drama. I’m not usually a fan of body-swap plots since the concept has been used repeatedly over the past few decades, but this drama makes the most of its limited runtime and budget to deliver a decent and entertaining show.

Both lead actors are incredibly handsome and charismatic. What impressed me the most, however, was how convincingly they adapted to each other’s personalities after the body swap. It takes talented actors to portray more than one character effectively within a single series, and both of them pulled it off remarkably well. They truly captured and reflected each other’s mannerisms and personalities.

The kissing scenes were decent, although I would have liked to see more intimate moments between them, especially since the chemistry was built up so well throughout the story. For such a short series, it managed to provide enough emotional depth and character development to keep the plot engaging and the audience invested.

While the drama is enjoyable, it’s clear that the concept could have supported a much larger story. Overall, it’s a fun watch that delivers a satisfying and entertaining BL experience. The ending was also amusing, introducing new victims of the body-swap phenomenon caused by the combination of magic and electricity.

It’s a short series, six episodes of under 15 minutes each, that definitely won me over. It’s going on my list of "comfort shows" to watch on a rainy day, curled up under the covers. It was surprisingly fun and sweet. But what really hooked me were the performances by Hwang Dong Hee as Cha Do Gyeong and Kim Dong Won as Yun Ji O. I love body-swapping shows, and these actors were incredible. The way they switched personalities was so believable and flawless. Plus, the chemistry between them was excellent, and both seemed completely at ease in their roles. Despite the low budget, the series delivered a quality production. I just wish there had been a few more episodes or more screen time, as I’d love to know the backstory behind the homestay's matchmaking abilities. Who knows? Maybe a second season telling the story of Secretary Ha and the homestay? It’s unlikely, but it doesn't hurt to dream. Breathtaking scenery and a gentle soundtrack round out the production.

This series had SO much potential...

The premise is genuinely interesting, the body-swap storyline is fun, and the cast absolutely understood the assignment. In fact, I think the strongest part of the entire series was the acting.

Seriously, the way the leads completely changed their expressions, mannerisms, and body language right after the characters switched bodies was incredibly impressive. They absolutely nailed it!!!

My biggest issue is the format. I mean, six episodes with only around 10–15 minutes each was simply not enough.

The story moves so quickly that it barely has time to explore its own ideas before rushing to the next plot point. The romance, the emotional moments, the character development... everything feels compressed into a timeline that doesn't give the audience enough time to fully connect with it. And that's what frustrated me the most, because the ingredients were all there, ready to be cooked.

To be honest, I mostly felt robbed... Not because it was bad, but because I could clearly see how much better it could have been with a longer runtime.

Btw, *SPOILER ALERT* I thought secretary Ha would be endgame with the writer... him ending up body-swaping with Ji O's ex was definitely NOT in my bingo card lol.

.

This is a BL theme that pops up every now and then, but I still found this mini-series quite enjoyable.

It was a light and easy watch, and while it wasn't anything groundbreaking, I had a good time watching it. 🤍✨

They swapped bodies → they'll swap back if they love each other and are serious about the kiss.

It's a shame the drama was so short. I enjoyed it and often had butterflies in my stomach.

•Story: 9/10
- beautiful story in my opinion
-Happy end
-Cute

•Acting/Casting: 7,5/10
-The acting was well done, emotions were there, but Acting wasn't that good that I would fall over lmao
-I didn't know the actors before, but they were suitable for the role and looked good

•Music: 6/10
-No special music, except for the music at the end. I found the music fitting and beautiful in the end

•Rewatch value:
-I would definitely watch it again, because it was a sweet drama. The ending was good too.
