Hiro is a first-year high school student, and one day he calls his older brother, Mito, and tells him, "I've decided to kill Sugimori." Mito gives him two pieces of advice: "Do what you've left undone while you still can, and make sure you can articulate clearly why you decided to kill Sugimori so you can explain your reasons in court." Hiro tries to put this advice into practice, but the story takes an unexpected turn. Through lighthearted conversations with family and friends, and his cheerful daily life, the past of Hiro and Sugimori gradually comes to light, and eventually, the true meaning of Hiro's opening words becomes clear.
