All the clichés in one show
MDL woke up and put this show on the page... I watched this a bit over two weeks ago and this was something I did not expect. This series packs every BL cliché into the story imaginable... It start's of with a drunken NC-scene and of course the "perpetrator" is in the "but I'm a man" closet... the one who let it happen is in the "he can't be touched" closet, meaning he was traumatized and does not like to be touched by anyone.And of course you will find even more clichés like the scheming bad brother with his worse wife, the awful father and of course the standard evil "bitch" as so many BLs portray woman nowadays. And don't forget one of the MLs must be married off to increase the status and influence of his family. The difference is, I did not find myself annoyed with it. It's just a fun experience with so many ridicilous storyplots, but with the vibe that the creators did not take it seriously.
While I'm critical of most clichés because they are not executed well, this series is a persiflage of all the BLs imaginable and that makes it fun to watch. The actors did a good job, there is real kissing and even the nc-scenes are tastefully executed. The production quality was quite high for such a vertical drama. The only downside for me is, that it could have been a tad better, if they would have released it in the normal format too because it was not filmed with a smartphone. If you want something fluffy, something fun, this is for you!

It is really dangerously sweet <3
Watch it and just drown in cuteness and passion of love. Dedicated protective love , gentleman behavior tho we have the usual villians and the blur cutie but he has good intentions and with a backbone. Seriously watch it and have 0 regrets. It is super high on my rewatch list and i never knew japanese verticals will be so good..omgWas this review helpful to you?
vertical series with great visuals
Overall: the actors did a good job, but the plot circled a bit too much for me. Quite good for a short
This is one of the better shorts out there. I really liked the acting and the story was good too. I watched it as a movie, all episodes pasted together and that made it doable.The visuals were good and the music was ok.
The overall acting was good.
The mains had great chemistry and great kisses.

Cliché Plot, Unexpected Chemistry
Storyline & Plot — 6.6/10 (C+)Honestly, there wasn't really anything about the storyline that surprised me. The plot is decent, but it feels quite cliché and follows the typical formula commonly seen in Chinese short dramas.
One of the main leads is extremely wealthy, there is a conflict involving a power struggle over the position of CEO, while the other lead pretends to be an ordinary person. These are all very familiar tropes in Chinese short dramas, so there wasn't anything particularly special or groundbreaking about the story for me.
The biggest problem with the drama is actually quite simple: there are way too many conflicts happening at once.
Around 60–70% of the story focuses heavily on Koichi's problems, his rival, and his older brother. Because of this, the plot sometimes feels like it is going in circles around the same conflicts. As a result, the romantic development between Yu and Koichi doesn't get as much screentime as I would have liked.
Their relationship had so much potential, but the constant focus on external conflicts made the romance feel somewhat secondary.
That being said, from another perspective, the plot is still fairly easy to follow and reasonably straightforward. It's not terrible, but it's not particularly impressive either. It sits somewhere comfortably in the middle.
So, while I wouldn't rate the storyline extremely highly, I also don't think it's bad enough to deserve a very low score.

Acting & Characters — 7.4/10 (B+)
Gennosuke as Koichi shows a really noticeable improvement in his acting, and I genuinely enjoyed watching his performance!
His co-lead, Izumi Keitatsu as Yu, also did a decent job. Overall, the acting throughout the drama is solid, including the performances from the villain characters.
However, my biggest issue is actually Yu's characterisation.
Yu can be quite annoying at times because he constantly tries to deny his feelings for Koichi. The problem is that this doesn't happen just once or twice — it happens over and over again, to the point where it starts to feel repetitive.
As viewers, we might eventually get tired of watching Yu deny his feelings when it's already painfully obvious that he has feelings for Koichi.
I understand what the writers were trying to do with his character, but I think this aspect could have been handled with a little more subtlety.

Chemistry — 8.3/10 (A-)
Okay, THIS was something I absolutely did not expect. I genuinely never expected Yu and Koichi to have such insane chemistry!
Their chemistry is easily one of the strongest aspects of this drama. Their interactions feel natural, and when they get intimate, the chemistry is VERY convincing.
And yes...
They can actually kiss properly.
The NC scenes? good!.
Honestly, if the romance had been given more screentime, I think their chemistry could have made this drama even better.

One thing I really didn't like about this drama is that it was filmed vertically.
The vertical format makes the cinematography feel extremely minimalist, and personally, I don't find it as visually appealing as a traditionally filmed drama. It also limits the way certain scenes can be framed and presented, making the overall visual experience feel somewhat restricted.
However, one thing that definitely deserves praise is the visuals of the actors.
The cast is seriously attractive, and their visuals are incredibly eye-catching. Yu and Koichi especially have the kind of visuals that immediately grab your attention whenever they're on screen.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, DANGEROUSLY SWEET is a very average short BL drama for me. The storyline isn't particularly original, and the excessive conflicts sometimes overshadow the romance.
However, the chemistry between the leads completely saves the experience for me.
I genuinely hope Izumi Keitatsu and Gennosuke get another project together in the future because their visuals and chemistry are simply too good to waste!

Get These Two A Proper Series IMMEDIATELY
Normally I avoid the verticals--not interested in the whole coin thing and whatnot, but for whatever reason, when this landed on my TL on IG, I thought, well, wait, that looks kind of interesting.It was so interesting I actually PAID for a week of this service just to be able to finish and rewatch this show. I don't know who is behind this series but for a vertical with short eps and all that, this was REALLY good. I could see it as a full on series if it had the budget. Either way, I'd love to see these two back in something else, that is on a regular channel or at least not a vertical. I thought it was a cute premise, both ML actors really delivered.
I've rewatched it twice so far...if that is any indication.
