Newlyweds Shuka and Hisashi have been enjoying a peaceful marriage, but cracks begin to form when Hisashi grows closer to his coworker Ryoko. Meanwhile, Shuka’s encounter with Joji, a university student living next door, forces her to confront the loneliness growing within her own relationship. Hisashi, too, carries secrets that threaten to complicate the lives of those closest to him. Around them are others struggling with loneliness and unfulfilled desires: Ryoko, still wounded by divorce; Joji, drawn to a married woman; Mafuyu, who watches over her best friend; and Bell, a sex worker who comforts those searching for connection.
