At times, these episodes felt as though they had been taken straight from a page of The Walking Dead, yet beneath the familiar apocalyptic imagery was something unexpectedly poignant…the quiet revelation of A Lie’s humanity and kindness. Whether he is driven by his need to save someone immune or by the beginnings of a deeper connection, the slow burn created the perfect foundation for developing both characters and their relationship. Their feelings are not being forced upon us…they are slowly emerging through trust, protection, and vulnerability. As the beautiful lyrics of the theme song say, “You are my north…I am your sky.”The only thing that bothered me other than perfectly handsome faces was that lone zombie who somehow knew exactly where to look. I thought zombies had lost the ability to think. I’m certainly no zombie expert, but is their sense of smell still intact? Because for a dead person, that creature certainly had perfect instincts…and apparently 20/20 vision.
