The Goonies’ Fratelli’s are back

Episode 8 reintroduces one of the most unsettling truths of any apocalypse…humans can be far more dangerous than zombies. The infected may kill through instinct, but humans deceive, manipulate, and murder by choice. By widening the threat beyond the undead, the story becomes more than another zombie series…it becomes a study of what remains of humanity when civilization and morality collapse.

That humanity is also what some viewers seem to be missing. They are so focused on criticizing the AI-generated and CGI-heavy scenes that they overlook the actors’ hard work, the emotional intensity, and the beautifully written script holding everything together. The visual effects may create the apocalypse, but it is the actors who make us care about surviving it.

And that final scene…was Mama Fratelli and her oversized son Sloth from The Goonies an intentional Easter egg? If so, I loved it. Apparently, the Fratelli family survived the apocalypse. “Hey, you guys!” Ahahaha.

I Knew They Were Bad, But THIS Bad?! 😱

I knew the mother and her sons were bad people, but I didn’t expect them to be this evil! Lin Zai and A Leh gave them food and tried to help them, yet they captured Lin Zai and were literally planning to chop him up and eat him. I know food is extremely scarce during a zombie apocalypse, but killing and eating another human being is just beyond cruel.


The fight scene where A Leh came to save Lin Zai was EPIC! I was not expecting it to get that intense. A Leh had no choice but to fight and kill them because otherwise he and Lin Zai would have been the ones to die.


If they had simply accepted the food and never tried to eat Lin Zai, none of this would have happened. The mother and her sons chose their own fate. They seriously picked the wrong people to mess with!
