Super-Express (1964)

Kikyo Keiichi, a real estate agent in Okayama Prefecture, is approached by Nakae Yukichi, the president of a Tokyo development company, with an offer to purchase a large stretch of local land for an automobile factory. The deal earns Kikyo a substantial commission, but months later, he discovers that the land may actually lie along the planned route of a new Shinkansen line. Suspecting that Nakae obtained confidential information in advance, Kikyo begins investigating the transaction. His search leads him to Tamaru Yoko, a mysterious woman with connections to both Nakae and a senior executive involved in the Shinkansen project. As Kikyo digs deeper, he becomes entangled in a web of political influence, financial dealings, blackmail, and corruption surrounding the railway development.
