Set in 1885, Kikunosuke Onoe is in line to succeed his adopted father, a talented Kabuki actor. He falls in love with his brother's nurse, Otoku, who is the only one honest about his acting skills. Defying his father, Kikunosuke travels to Nagoya to train at another Kabuki theater. Edit Translation
