Who can resist that mischievous grin?

Hey, there fellow drama addicts! Are you the kind of person who waits for an ongoing drama to finish (or at least get up to a certain point) before starting it, because of the dreaded wait from episode to episode? I used to be like that until recently, but then I discovered the thrill and sweet anxiety I feel as I wait for every week’s new episodes. Watching several on-goings at once (preferably in different time slots) helps your week fly by!

And here to fill in your Wednesday-Thursday time slot is ... 7th Grade Civil Servant! I was immediately attracted to this drama for two reasons:

  1. The intriguing world of espionage. As a long-time James Bond fan and kdrama addict, how can I say no to the best of both worlds? This drama centers on the National Intelligence Service, which is like Korea’s version of the CIA.
  2. Joo Won. I’ve loved him ever since Kim Tak Gu. This Oppa has one of the most adorable dimpled smiles on the planet, and he’s an amazingly talented actor to boot! All of his dramas so far have been widely successful, which is another reason to have high expectations for this one. If Joo Won’s in it, I’m watching it. It’s that simple.

Yes indeed, you definitely have!

Although some might feel tempted to turn away because of the age gap between Choi Kang Hee and Joo Won, believe me when I say that this woman is perfect for her role. Who needs a fragile little beauty queen when you've got a tough female agent! And I love the chemistry that develops between them.

Synopsis so far (no spoilers):
Kim Kyung Ja (Choi Kang Hee) is a young woman with dreams of making it into broadcasting. Like so many kdrama heroines, she has several part-time jobs to help her pay for tuition. It is through one of these jobs that she meets our hero, rich boy Han Pil Hoon (Joo Won).  And what a comical and unusual first meeting it is!  The fun back-and-forth banter between the two follows soon after. How do they both end up as agents of the National Intelligence Service? You will have to watch to find out.

Who can resist these male pheromones?!

Why you should stop what you’re doing and watch this immediately:
Romance, comedy, action – it’s hard to find a good drama that manages to juggle all three of my favorite genres and do an excellent job of it, which is one reason why I really love 7th Grade Civil Servant. The tension and excitement keep building with every episode, really pulling you in and making you desperate for more. It’s only four episodes in and we’ve already had some unexpected twists and turns. Add to all that eye-candy by the bucket load in the form of Joo Won and Chansung and there’s really no excuse for you not to start watching this right now!

Episode 5 of 7th Grade Civil Servant airs on Wednesday, February 6.
