AOA's Kim Seol Hyun will reportedly join hands with Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo in a new K-drama that renowned writer Noh Hee Kyung will helm.
On June 13, an exclusive report from media outlet Sports DongA shared that Kim Seol Hyun will be one of the leads of the upcoming K-drama titled Show Business (working title). She will work alongside top stars Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo in the series. According to reports, Kim Seol Hyun is already in the final process of accepting the casting offer.
Meanwhile, Kim Seol Hyun's agency IEUM HASHTAG has not yet responded to the exclusive report.
If Kim Seol Hyun confirms her casting, this will be her second upcoming K-drama. The idol actress will also join the upcoming series Light Shop with Ju Ji Hoon, Park Bo Young, Bae Sung Woo, Uhm Tae Goo, and Lee Jung Eun.
Kim Seol Hyun was last seen in the 2022 K-drama Summer Strike. She worked alongside ZE: A's Yim Si Wan, Shin Eun Soo, a.mond, Park Ye Young, and Kwak Min Gyoo.
She started her career in 2012 as a member of the FNC Entertainment girl group AOA. In the same year, she also began acting and appeared in Seo Yeong, My Daughter. Currently, Seol Hyun is more active as an actress.
The upcoming K-drama Show Business is a period K-drama that is set in the background from the 1950s to the 1980s. It will showcase the show business world that rapidly grew after the Korean War. It will also reveal the story of a star on stage and the people that help the star to shine.
The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Lee Yoon Jung (The Lies Within, Cheese in the Trap, Coffee Prince,) and writer Noh Hee Kyung (Our Blues, Dear My Friends, It's Okay, That's Love, That Winter, the Wind Blows, and The World That They Live In). Studio Dragon will produce the upcoming series.
This will possibly be the reunion of Kim Seol Hyun and director Lee Yoon Jung. The two worked together two years ago through the K-drama Summer Strike.
