On December 4, actor Jung Jin Young, who stars in the Netflix original series Sweet Home Season 2, shared his experiences from the K-drama.

Picking up from the events of Season 1, Sweet Home Season 2 expands into a world outside Green Home. Hyun Soo and the survivors of Green Home each fight their battles to survive in the new territory.

Jung Jin Young plays the role of Park Chan Young, a soldier in the Special Forces Guard tasked with transporting survivors.

Regarding his preparation for the K-drama, the actor revealed that he underwent dedicated training for his character, including practicing baseball and gaining weight.

Since Chan Young is a former baseball player, the actor practiced the sport to give a realistic portrayal. He said, "There are scenes where he runs, slides, and throws. Even a single throw mattered because he was a former baseball player. It's hard to say it's an actual pitching form in that scene because the context is different. Still, I practiced and learned baseball."

He added, "I worked hard to bulk up. Since he [Park Chan Young] is a former baseball player, it felt odd that he doesn't work out. I thought I should visually convey the feeling of being able to throw well. However, I didn't think I could drastically increase muscle mass, so I did what I could to bulk up. Also, since he [Park Chan Young] had just joined the military, I trimmed my hair and kept it short. I also practiced baseball. And I went to an action school and did a lot of physical training. I ran 3 kilometers. Rather than practicing action, I focused more on increasing stamina. As there was a lot of action, I couldn't afford to get tired."

He continued, "After gaining 5-6 kg, I felt like I was cutting fat and gaining muscle. Bulking up was quite painful. And I did follow a diet."

Giving concluding remarks, Jung Jin Young said, "It was a great experience for me. There were techniques I hadn't tried, sets, and CGI I hadn't experienced. These were things the audience was curious about, and experiencing them was a huge part of my acting life. Going forward, whatever work I do, I can use this experience in my acting. So, I think I'll be able to show a slightly better version of myself."

Sweet Home Season 2 streams exclusively on Netflix.
