Choi Sung Eun is in discussion to star in the upcoming K-drama Gyeon Woo and Fairy

On June 28, media outlets reported that Choi Sung Eun will lead the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama Gyeon Woo and Fairy. The K-drama will be directed by Kim Yong Wan who also created the films The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey, Champion, and more.

Choi Sung Eun's agency Ace Factory responded to the casting reports. They said, "Choi Sung Eun has received the offer to lead Gyeon Woo and Fairy. She is currently reviewing the offer." Nothing has been decided yet. 

If Choi Sung Eun confirms her casting, this will be her grand comeback to the K-drama scene. She last starred in the 2022 K-drama The Sound of Magic with Ji Chang Wook, Hwang In Youp, Oh So Hyun, Ji Hye Won, and Hong Jung Min

This year, Choi Sung Eun appeared in the film My Name Is Loh Kiwan. She worked alongside Song Joong Ki, Jo Han Chul, Kim Sung Ryung, Lee Il Hwa, and Lee Sang Hee.

Choi Sung Eun will also join the upcoming films Time to Be Strong and Mad Dance Office.

Gyeon Woo and Fairy is a fantasy romance K-drama that revolves around a high school girl shaman who is looking for her first love. 

According to reports, Choi Sung Eun got the offer to play the role of Park Sung Ah. She is a normal high school student during the day while she works as a shaman at night. After learning that her ideal type Baek Gyeon Woo is nearing death, she does everything to prevent it. The story will be depicted from the webtoon of the same name created by Ahn Soo Min. 

There are no reports yet on which actor will portray the role of Baek Gyeon Woo, the male protagonist of the K-drama. 

The K-drama will be produced by Dexter Pictures, Dexter Studio, and IO Content Group. There is also no confirmation yet on the release date and the broadcast channel of Gyeon Woo and Fairy.
