Kim Nam Hee's Life Isn't All Sunshine and Rainbows in "Bittersweet Hell"
On May 4, tvN unveiled character posters for the new Monday-Tuesday drama Delightfully Deceitful featuring Kim Dong Wook as Han Moo Young - a lawyer with the hyper-empathy syndrome, and Chun Woo Hee as Lee Ro Um - an apathetic swindler who exploits Moo Young's weakness.
The first poster featuring Lee Ro Um (Chun Woo Hee) catches the eye. What seems to be Han Moo Young's (Kim Dong Wook) office, Ro Um, wearing an oversized beige suit and white sneakers, sits holding a gun in her hand, like she has taken over Han Moo Young's office.
The text on her poster reads, "I'll show you the difference between a lawyer and a swindler", which conveys a tone of threat.
In another character poster, Kim Dong Wook's intense gaze as Han Moo Young gives an overwhelming atmosphere. Ro Um's illegal identification cards - created for her scamming operations - as well as the gun she was holding, are laid out on the desk.
The phrase, "All the choices I made were because of Ro Um", implies that Han Moo Young has made a weighty choice due to Ro Um's swindling ploys, which has left a significant impact on him. This arouses curiosity about whether Han Moo Young will empathize with Ro Um and turn a blind eye to her crimes, or if the drama will take an unexpected twist.
Delightfully Deceitful also stars Yoon Park as the probation officer Go Yo Han, Park So Jin as psychiatrist Mo Jae In, and Lee Yeon as hacker Jung Da Jung, among others.
The crime drama is helmed by the Sh**ting Stars director Lee Soo Hyun. The K-drama will premiere on May 29. Further updates regarding the K-drama's distribution on international OTT platforms are yet to come.
