"Chief Detective 1958" Climbs Back to Double-Digit Ratings
The upcoming instalment of the mega-hit crime action franchise The Roundup, The Roundup: Punishment, unveils a new teaser.
The Roundup: Punishment follows the story of detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok, aka Don Lee), who fights against Baek Chang Ki (Kim Mu Yeol), a former mercenary leading a large-scale illegal online gambling organization, and IT genius Jang Dong Cheol (Lee Dong Hwi).
The teaser commences by showing the "Monster Detective" Ma Seok Do fighting and smashing criminals. As he struggles to catch an elusive illegal online gambling organization, his team members raise concerns. Despite their doubts, Ma Seok Do remains determined to eradicate the major cybercrime and declares, "I will solve this case myself."
The fourth-generation villain Baek Chang Ki, also a former mercenary, promises to pose a significant threat to Ma Seok Do with his extreme combat prowess. His ruthless determination to eliminate anything obstructing him is evident through his gaze and actions.
Furthermore, the return of Jang Yi Soo (Park Ji Hwan) also excites viewers. Having succeeded in running an illegal arcade business, Jang Yi Soo unexpectedly encounters Ma Seok Do. He is once again forced to act as Ma Seok Do's unofficial ally. The chemistry between the two characters promises comic relief.
Lastly, the IT genius Jang Dong Cheol appears to be the CEO of a rising company, but in reality, he is a man with extraordinary intellect involved in illegal online gambling crimes.
