"Chief Detective 1958" Observes Slight Drop in Domestic Viewership
The Crown Prince Has Disappeared dropped its second teaser.
Starring EXO's Suho, Hong Ye Ji, Myung Se Bin, Kim Min Kyu, and Kim Joo Heon, among others, The Crown Prince Has Disappeared narrates the story of Crown Prince Yi Gun (Suho) getting kidnapped by Choi Myung Yoon (Hong Ye Ji), who plans to marry him.
The second teaser commences by showing black-clad assassins infiltrating the palace. A voiceover ominously states, "Those following the queen are eagerly awaiting an opportunity."
Subsequently, Prince Lee Gon says, "Do you think that ugly secret will be kept even if you kill me?".
Following this, he remarks, "Isn't it strange that two palace maids volunteered?" as scenes show a body floating in a lake and a corpse in the Joseon Dynasty's autopsy room.
Furthermore, Prince Lee Gon's request for a discreet investigation is met with a grim response from Choi Sang Rok (Kim Joo Heon), "They have already committed suicide," while Grand Prince Do Sung (Kim Min Kyu) discovers a hanged scholar.
Chaos ensues, and a voiceover says, "The prince has disappeared," followed by his desperate plea, "Just stay alive." Following that, Prince Lee Gon is shown bleeding. He says, "I can't trust anyone," and King Hae Jong determinedly says, "I will surely find you."
Later, while being chased by soldiers, Lee Gon encounters Choi Myung Yoon (Hong Ye Ji), demanding to know her identity. Choi Myung Yoon says, "Do you think I'm going to reveal my identity?"
Although initially distrustful of each other, the two fight against the soldiers, save each other and hide from the soldiers.
In the next scene, as Lee Gon collapses, Queen Dowager Min Soo Ryun (Myung Se Bin) tearfully pleads, "Can't you save the prince?"
As the teaser heads to the conclusion, Lee Gon's voice, filled with rage, asserts, "I will make them pay the price," stoking anticipation for the secrets of the Crown Prince's disappearance case and what lies ahead.
