Lee Joong Ok joins Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in a new crime romance K-drama
Former INFINITE member Hoya (Lee Ho Won) will be the protagonist of the upcoming movie Mountainside Road (tentative title).
It was officially announced by his current agency on April 25. According to them, "actor Lee Ho Won will be the main lead of the upcoming movie Mountainside Road. We ask for your interest in Lee Ho Won who will showcase another side of him through this movie."
Mountainside Road will be based on the true story of boxing heroes who made the entire nation go wild in the 1980s. The film will be set in Ami-dong Busan from 1979 to 1986, and the present time. The upcoming film will showcase the rough life and growth of five poor friends who built and lived in a house in the cemetery.
The upcoming movie will be produced by Iroi Works and Metapolo Studio. It will be in the direction of Kim Si Woo. Also, Australian filming director Damien Vivi and martial arts director Lee Tae Young (Squid Game ) will be joining the production.
Aside from Hoya, actor Kim Won Hae will also join the film.
Mountainside Road will premiere in Korean theaters in the second half of 2023. Filming will begin in mid-May.
In the upcoming film. Hoya will play the role of "Crayon Shin Chan." He started his career in boxing with only his world-champion dream and two fists. To become a world champion, he endured the difficulties of hard training and severe weight loss.
This will be the first project of Hoya for 2023. Last year, he returned to dancing through the program Street Man Fighter. He also starred in the films Seoul Ghost Stories and A Birth. Aside from this, Hoya also participated in the musical Secretly Greatly: THE LAST.
